~Cinderillashelf ~

COUNTRY HOME......
O, my gosh, I just LOVE this magazine.
I would rather have a fight with a live Zebra than throw one away.
I save 'em for ever.
I was looking thru this 2005 issue one time and......
I fell KNEE deep in LUV ~

As far as loving things for your home,
SHELF LOVE♥ is one of the best kinds....
I actually have a THING about shelves....just love 'em to pieces.

Now, I had a simple little shelf that I had picked up at the local THRIFT shop.
No beautiful brackets, however...
so I went shopping.........

BRACKET SHOPPING

The very first place I went....HODGEPODGE BOUTIQUE.....
my favorite "go to" place when I am wanting AWESOMENESS,
had an adorable BASKET full of these curly-q brackets and I swear

and when I added these pretty brackets to that
PLAIN and HOMELY SHELF,
It turned into
 CINDERILLASHELF
and I was sooo happy.

I am joining our vivacious
DEBBIE DOO
for her amazingly FUN
monthly party.....
MAGAZINE COPY CAT CHALLENGE.

I hope YOU will join this party soon...
so much fun, finding a photo of something you want to recreate in YOUR OWN WAY.....
putting YOUR spin on it makes it even MORE FUN.
Some day, I may paint MY shelf WHITE....
I sure like it in white....

Using PHOTOSCAPE, this  is what my shelf would
look like if I painted it white...
and I LIKE IT.......A LOT....
do you ?
Putting my own spin on the COPY CAT SHELF
I added little round knobs to hang favorite treasures from.....
A little wooden cross with a TIN star, a gift from my girl....
and a little wooden GUARDIAN ANGEL.
...here's another adorable curly-Q shelf...
(no idea WHO this shelf belongs to)
I just love 'em.
As you saw with mine above, a plain little shelf that is lucky enuf to have CURLY-Q'S added to it's dress is
ONE CUTE SHELF, baby.
♥ ♥ ♥
There's lots of cool parties so I am honored to join them for all the fun......................
Treasure Hunt
Open House
Time Travel
Thurs. Favorite Things
Show and Tell Friday
Tickled Pink

YA'LL have a really good weekend.

Black or white, the shelf is gorgeous BJ! It's really the details that make things special isn't it?

BJ girl, you amaze me!! I just love your copykat shelf, it's adorable.
You found the perfect brackets and brought that plain shelf to life and yes, get out the white paint.

You are one talent bj. You took that shelf and made it look just like the one in the magazine! I'm happy to know I'm not the only one who has a hard time throwing out favorite magazines. I love the shelf both ways, dark and white. Great little brackets……..Love the header!
Have a great weekend.

I love it, BJ! Such a simple addition really transformed the look of your shelf. I like it in its existing color, but I do like the white, too. I was thinking of looking for these brackets when I'm out and about to put under my upper cabinets to add some interest.

I do like it white, but then I love it black. What would work best in your home? Your creations always turn out better than the original!

I just love what you did with your shelf! I'd prefer white in my home but it depends on your other decor in your home. The dark color really stands out nice on your wall.
Good job!

That is so neat! I always have an internal struggle when it comes to throwing out magazines. They are just filled with such inspiration.

These copy-cat-posts of yours are lovely and fun, in their own right.

But just as much fun, is the Joy you obviously have, in doing these projects.

You Fun/Joy, shines through, your writing! And that's no little trick, my Dear. :-) It's good writing, at its best.

BJ, you are just too clever. I love your shelf. The black is wonderful, but I do love the white, too.♥

Hi Bj!

That shelf looks almost identical to the one in the magazine. It like it black because of the contrast of the pitchers and wall. White is really nice too...

Hello dear BJ, I'm back to blogging and visiting, I sure missed all of you!! Needed time away from the computer and now I feel all re-energized:-)

Isn't it amazing how delightful a plain old shelf can become just by adding a few extras to it. I love yours, no matter if it's black or white. I need to adopt some of your ideas:-) xoxo

You definitely have a hang up for shelves. However, none will take the place of the black and white one your hubby made. That will always be at the top of the list. Take care.

Debby said...

That was my favorite magazine ever.....miss it alot. C.L. isn't near what it used to be. I love following Matthew Mead.....because he was in CH alot.
Love your shelf. You are a great copy cat. xo

Sue said...

Well aren't you clever...it really dressed up your shelf. I actually do like it white...get out that paint and get to work! It looks great as is too, so I guess it just depends on how it looks where it is hanging.

Our current house has no walls! My kitchen, dining and living rooms are all open and when you take out the patio door, the laundry room door, garage door, front door, stairway and hall opening...not much wall space left so no added shelves hanging anywhere for me:(

Patti @ Pandoras Box said...

You are the queen of copying - well done - this is so unique!

Wsprsweetly Of Cottages said...

Well..yes..but I'm afraid I like it better black. *shrug* Am I in trouble? NOT that I don't love white..oh, I do, I do...but that shelf really, really makes a statement black.
:)?? However...I am NO decorator.
So..you know...

bj: what a cutie!! You did such a good job. I want to join that party and have been looking through my stash for ideas. Hopefully I'll find something before next time. I love your Cinderellashelf, either black or white is good, I think..Happy Thursday..Judy

Wow! Your copy cat is almost identical! I love how you were able to edit the photo to see what it would like in white too. What a great idea for other things you might want to change the color of. Just take a pic and edit the color.

Love Love love it! And yes I like it in white! Let us know if ya decide to go white. I know it will be fabulous either way!:) Thanx for linking up to THT. Hope your week is going well.

You're a genius! And amazing that you saved that page of the magazine and actually used it! I've found old pages that I loved at the time and never got around to doing anything with them, finding them years later when cleaning things out. You are on it and this turned out so very cool. I just love this!
