I LUV Country French....
I don't have a lot of it, but I have SOME pieces that I just
KNOW
would look awesome in a CHALET, somewhere in the
deep FRENCH COUNTRY.
hens and roosters running around, with their little heads bobbing up and down as they peck for their food,
I DO have a nice amount of ROOSTERS
hanging around SWEET NOTHINGS.
And, aren't ROOSTERS a big thing
in FRANCE ?
THIS particular one is a little rug that
rests beneath MR. SWEET'S feet when he is in his recliner.

A pair of magnificent FRENCH roosters
hanging in a SHOW-OFF spot in my
living room.....
The sweetest story goes along with these...and, I am already tearing up...
My daughter's best friend in the world, PAIGE, lost her oldest son in a car crash. I kept my daughter's children while she and Jent went to be with their friends for a week. Because I had admired this awesome pair of colorful roosters, PAIGE brought them to me, saying they could not have made it thru that first week without the support of Stacy and Jent ....the gift was a token of her gratitude .
Can you see why they are among the first things I would grab if a fire broke out in our home ??
I am most proud of this FRENCH console....
all hand painted and, if you will, notice the FRENCH ROOSTER behind the "coop".
I bought this French piece when a local store went out of business.
It was used to display their line of French dishes and they stored the extras behind
the two doors.
THIS French dresser, with the famous
FRENCH PROVINCIAL feet, is a thrifted
piece from years ago. Very vintage with all the original hardware.
A wonderful storage piece....all the 8 drawers
are TOTALLY full.
One day while 'window' shopping, I spied these two adorable RED, FRENCH chairs, all distressed and everything wonderful, in a local shop.
Being on such a strict SOCIAL SECURITY budget,
I asked if she had LAYAWAY..........she said,
"Indeed I do" so these were in her shop a couple of months until I could pay for them.
They seemed extra special, having to wait so long before adding them to our living room.
Some times, I think I am blessed that I have to either "pay things out" or save my pennies for a long time before I can buy something I REALLY want.
I know it sure makes me so appreciative of every thing I am able to add to our home.
My $15.00 thrifted from GOODWILL coffee table,
sporting those famous SEXY, CURVY, FRENCH LEGS..
This thrifted coffee table, with it's sexy FRENCH legs
would LOVE hearing the beautiful sound of the FRENCH language being spoken,
while mugs of CAFE LATTE rested atop, maybe with a tasty FRENCH PASTRY....

NOPE....I don't think PAULA DEEN is French
but this little white dude holding up the recipe book
is a FRENCH ROOSTER named ALPHONSE,
that's French for ALFONSO, in case ya didn't know. hahhhaaa....

I love it ALL!! I so enjoy your every blog post! I was telling Amber about you the other day. We were watching Paula Deen on TV from Amber's hospital room and I was describing the way you do biscuits. Buying with your heart is so much better than constant retail therapy, which never cures anything anyway:)
Looks Frenchy to me:) I love French Country. I have some roosters too...ceramic AND live. Well, the lives ones aren't really mine. They belong, I guess you'd say, to everyone in town because we have them running all over the place. Some folks love 'em and some folks hate 'em. I prefer my ceramic ones to those that scratch up my flower beds!

Oh...We are both lovers of Country French design. I, too, have lots of red, golden yellow, black in most rooms in my home. My kitchen is speckled with roosters and hens. I have added touches of red toile in window treatments, slipcovers and pillows throughout. Your photos are so warm and welcoming, my friend!

A wonderful collection of French throughout your home! The rooster I see frequently in Europe. Recently I visited a Greek Monastery in Arizona and throughout the gardens there were statues of roosters!Thank you for sharing bits of your home. The roosters are neat art, and reminders of good (and not so good) times, and lovely rubies with their red combs. Eclectic and stylish, they enhance your already beautiful home...what can I say about beignets? I enjoyed them on the Gulf coast, the powdered sugar is applied when hot and make an excellent glaze. The ultimate fried dough!
