GOOD WEDNESDAY MORNING...
We prayed last night for the Dallas area and other areas
that had the bad weather. I hope no one was hurt....or had their house blown away.
We are almost 400 miles from Dallas and we had a beautiful day with NO threats of bad weather.
Thank you to all the kind sweet people that emailed to see if we were ok.
I love you all very much and thank you for your concern.

sounding pretty stupid, I have NO idea what this pan is for.
I bought it at the local thrift shop....it looks brand new and I KNEW ya'll could tell me all about it. ♥
When I see things like this and don't know what they are for, I think...
"I NEED TO GET OUT MORE."
It has this little cute latch on the side....
and the inside comes out....2 pieces.
Cake pan......?......sure will make a good lookin' cake with a fancy top, but looks
a little weird for a cake pan...and.....why the latch?

Jello mold type thing .....?.....
♥ ♥ ♥
I will appreciate learning just what it is that I bought .... :>)
When Mr. Sweet asked what it was and I said " I don't know" ,
his eyes rolled.......again !

THE SHELF is coming along just fine....
in fact, it is almost finished.
in fact, it is almost finished.
I just finished rubbing the GOLD LEAF
on the mirror frames on Tuesday....
and Mr. Sweet added the mirrors and has them all
secured to the shelf.
secured to the shelf.
We have the brass knobs on the front and expecting the
brass balls for the top sometime this week....
they actually SHOULD have been here by now.
Sure hope I don't get an email from them that
"these brass balls are on back order and it will be 2 weeks before shipping."
NOTE...got an email on Tuesday and they will be here
by Wednesday evening....
hey......that's today. WOO HOO
I will be showing you the finished project
soon.....first, we have to paint that wall.
I had so many mirrors up there, there's about a
kizillion little tiny holes.
ONE job ALWAYS calls for another. :)
We have spent a lot of time WAITING...
♥waiting for the brass knobs
♥waiting for the mirrors to be cut
♥waiting for the brass balls...
OOO, but ya'll
it surely is LOOKIN' GOOD...:))

Oh I love that pan, it is wonderful. I have one similar and it had all the instructions for cheesecake on the label when I bought it and that is what I use it for. So, I guess you can use it for any number of things, however any type of cake or item that needs to "set" then release the sides is perfect. Hugs, Marty
Looks like a springform bundt tcake pan. Betcha Mr. Sweet won't roll his eyes when you make something yummy for him in it. I'm thinkin' pecans (:
P.S. Glad you're ok and am joining you in prayers. xo
That's a great pan and you're right, it looks like it's new. With the latch, I'd say it's a springform pan for making cheesecakes. I have a few springform pans, however mine do not have that fancy bottom. I would imagine because of it, you could make a regular cake in it, using it as a bundt pan. Have fun!
i don't know about the cake pan, but the scones sure look delicious! I will be over in a minute. :)
Pretty good looking cake pan:) I will just take a scone and head on back home! Happy to hear you are OK! Have blessed day, HUGS!
That's the prettiest spring form pan I've ever seen. I have one for making cheesecake and I love it. It works well for many applications. It does not have that lovely design, though. Next thing we'll be seeing a beautiful cake, or cheesecake. I don't see why a jello mold couldn't work in it either.
Lots of work coming together on that shelf...can NOT wait to see it.
So glad that you are all safe in your corner of Texas.
Glad all is good near you Bj!~ Love your pan, funny I just bought one not quite like yours, at a thrift shop a few months ago. I need to show it soon. I have a special announcement over at my place.
Never seen a springform pan like that. That will make a gorgeous cheesecake.
Happy to hear you are not in Dallas area - how terribly disturbing those tornados were! Tell me how you are "golf leafing" - I saw a tube of gold - are you also using "leaf"? It is looking brilliant! I am also "M-C-ing" - I bought an end table and have been "doodling" - also just posted some switchplates I painted in checks - Oh, if only you and I could win the lottery and spend a week in Aurora just buying it all !!!
Cheese cake pan as all have stated. I have one but it got rusty, I imagine I did not dry it properly. Your scones look yummy. I bought a bucket of fresh strawberries from a local farm and need to get busy with them. Thanks so much for you comment on my series. It means more than I can ever say. Hugs, olive
Yep, its a spring form bundt pan. Follow this link to see what a bargain you got!!!

From what I gather, you can make either regular cakes, cheesecakes or gelatin molds in it, because of the tightly locking mechanizm. I just googled 'spring form bundt pan recipes' to see what's out there. You are going to have LOTS of fun with this! I can't wait to see your first effort.
I was thinking & praying for you & my brother last night as those storms rolled over TX. Scary! I'm glad you (& he) are all okay but feel terrible for those in the paths.
Hugs,
Rett
So glad you all are safe! It was a terrible storm and I have lots of Texas friends but seems like all missed the worst of it. That is a gorgeous spring form pan and you (being the cook that you are) will make something yummy and lovely with it! Now I'm off to make some scones....yours made me hungry!
hugs, Linda
bundt cake w/ easy release! cool! :)
I have a plain cheesecake pan with the latch, I think it must be a cheesecake pan. Sorry about your state having such terrible storms, glad you weren't hit.
Sounds like the shelf is coming right along, can't wait for the reveal!
Emily
Hi BJ!
I have a pan just like that. I always use mine for my lemon bundt cake. Don't know why, lol Glad you're safe! I was thinkin' 'bout you!
Sandy/Ohio
First off, those scones look heavenly! The pan is a springform & sometimes comes with 2 bottoms -- the fluted like yours or a flat one. You can use them for cheesecakes & make the graham cracker crust look fancy with the fluted top. You can also use them for tarts or tortes & fill in the fluted spaces with fruit. Apple or peach slices look really pretty. You will want to coat it well before using it for something other than cheesecake. For anything you bake in a springform pan, you need to loosen the sides with a knife or flat spatula before you unlatch so it doesn't pull out big chunks of your cakes. Happy baking!

BJ I am so glad you are safe. From what I saw on TV it was terrible. My grandson and his family live in Arlington and thank God they are all OK. Can't wait until you post pictures of the finished shelf. Have a blessed day. Madeline
I have a pan exactly like that and all it does it gather dust, you've given me some inspiration!
Thanks!

So glad that you are okay. SOunds like no loss of life which is unbelievable they way it threw those trucks around.
Can't wait to see the shelf.
(((((HUGS)))))
Hi BJ!
Those scones look yummy... I admired them as I drank my morning coffee :/
Waiting on pins and needles to see the finished shelf, I know it is just going to be fantastic!
Thanks for sharing at my party this week!
xoxo Bunny Jean
Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party!
I do believe that is a spring form cake pan...made so you can get the cake out without damaging the sides of it. They are usually made for cheesecake but this one looks more like a bundt cakepan to me.
Your scones look amazing!(as always) and I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to see that darned shelf you have been baiting us with!;>)
Sooo glad you are safe and sound- xo Diana
Thought about you yesterday and am glad you were safe and sound. That is a spring form pan used for cheesecake, easily releases it, also sponge or "chiffon" cakes. I find that the batter tends to leak with this pan unless you wrap it with aluminum foil. Happy Easter! xo
Glad you are safe. These tornados are terrible this year.
I see that everyone knew about the springform pan...I have one for cheesecake, but I think with the fancy top that would be for a coffeecake type cake...
I am sure whatever you make in it will be delicious!
So glad your all ok! Everyone has told you what kind of pan you have I had one. Never did use it.
So happy to hear you are ok; I was thinking of you last night when watching the devastation last night.
Love that you bought that fancy spring form bundt pan without knowing what is was for. I think I would love one of those. Happy Easter to you and your family.
Rita
Glad you are safe. It's a sad thing for those who lost homes. I have no idea other than a bunt cake pan..not sure. I love those scones ..yum. Smiles to you, Susie(She Junks)
Whatever the real name is you will put it to good use. Thing were very bad here yesterday. Thank goodness the tornado picked up and skipped my house, but so many others are devastated. The worst we had here in a long time. If I have any damage, it will be from the large hail.
The scone looks delicious! I would guess the pan would be used for a cheesecake or a bundt cake. It is beautiful!
Oh sweet BJ, I am so glad you are ok!! xxoo You got your self a great pan there. Can't wait to see what kind of goodies you will make in it!
Hugs,
Debbie
I'm so glad your safe and sound, we get bad storms once in a while here (PA.) in the summer and they are bad enough, I don't need to see a tornado!
I bet the shelf comes out just like the one that was so expensive, I can't wait to see it:)
I'm not a cook or backer but I guessed a bundt pan!
I thought of you last night when I saw the news, but was pretty sure that you weren't in that general area. I am glad you're okay!
Your mister will LOVE whatever you make him in that springform pan!
I'm not that familiar with where things are in Texas, so I pulled up Google Maps yesterday to see if you were safe from the path of the storms. I was so glad to see you were so far away. I had CNN on just after the first storm hit and as the others seemed to be touching down everywhere. So sad and yet so lucky they didn't lose anyone.
The scones look yummy!
That is a springform pan. I have several for cheesecakes but none of mine have the textured bottom. T
Hey sweetie! It's a bundt cake pan for a bundt cake. you just drizzle icing over it when it's done. Delish! Make one. They are wonderful..your pan has an easy release on it!
Yeah...I think you should make one! :) Ok..it's also called a spring form pan because of the spring on the release latch...whatever...
P.S. like Debby, I am dying to see that shelf...in a way...just..in a way. I just know I'm gonna die of envy is all...and I LOVE life sooo much! :)
The pan looks like a springform cake pan of some sort, although it looks specialized. I would love to know exactly what it was for myself! Can. not. wait. to see the finished shelf! It's gonna look like $1000 bucks;>)
Can you send me a sweet tea recipe? I've got a southern boy visiting and I want to make his tea right!
Oh my now that looks like a great find you have there. You probably could use that latched bundt pan for all sorts of wonderful things. I would love it if you could share this wonderful post at our WIW linky party. Hope to see you there.

Bj, Where have I been? I heard nothing about the Dallas area. Glad things are o.k. can't wait to see everything finished. Your find is a springform pan. May be some special kind, but not sure. You will whip up a yummy angel food cake or something I'm sure! The scones look so YUM! I am a lover of scones but rarely have them. I have a new link party, "Share Your Cup Thursday". I would love if you would share sometime!
Hugs,
Jann
BJ happy to hear all are well, prayers answered. I believe it is a bundt pan ( spring form style) Thank you for joining in the hop and for your bloggy friendship
