Project Hopefuls

HI, YA'LL....
Like most of YOU, there's so many cute things I hope to get done this spring and summer.
My mind is just full of luscious ideas I've learned  from YOU.
YA'LL  are the most talented people in the world and never struggle one bit with your projects...
MOI, on the other hand, have nothing BUT troubles when I start trying to work
on some of these cute ideas.
I use a glue gun....BURNS
I use a paint brush....MESS
I try crafting....HUGE HONKIN' MESS
Some of these, I might can do.....
others.......well.....I don't know about THEM.
We'll just have to see 'cause I plan to tackle them...

Iwould really would love to stencil numbers on MY METAL HANGING BUCKET but.......STENCILING is HARD for me.
Ya'll make it look so simple but.....it's NOT.....
but it sure is CUTE.

A thrifted little bench that costs
$12.00 .

We recovered the seat several years ago ...

I thought she looked fine.......
REAL FINE......

and THEN, I saw THIS BEAUTY.
♥ heavy sigh......

 Now, I can barely PAINT....
so I will paint the SEXY FRENCH LEGS of my bench in a pretty shade of BLACK...
She will become THE PAINTED LADY....
and, I do think I might be able to RECOVER the seat in a FRENCHY fabric,
with MR. SWEET'S help, of course...
No matter WHAT I do around Sweet Nothings,
Mr. Sweet is there to help....
and he is so crafty and handy with his hands.
If it harelips every GOVERNOR in the whole U.S.A.,
I intend to get my GUEST BEDROOM, dressed in this beautiful bedding,
ALL FINISHED.
I have been gathering bedding and such for this room for 2 solid years...
and I am sure my regular friends are sick and tired of hearing about it......
my budget being so strict,(nothing more strict than SOCIAL SECURITY)
I've bought items as I could.
ONE.PIECE.AT.A.TIME.

I do have MOST of it in waiting......enough that I am about to take the wallpaper border down...
then paint the walls in a CREAMY OFF WHITE....
By the end of summer,
THIS ROOM SHOULD BE COMPLETE...
 FINGERS CROSSED....

O, I don't have ALL the items on the above bed. Wish I did....
however, it is going to be very pretty with what I have  and I sure am gonna just LOVE IT.

A red basket full of cuteness,
just waiting for an olden woman
to get in that room and
BITE THE BULLET.

I just ordered these tie up curtains from JC Penney's...

I hope they will look FANTASTIC ....I am not much of a
"curtain" person, but I think these are really cute.
Pottery Barn had some very much like these but they have been discontinued.

These are very sheer, I think, but I will use blinds beneath.
I am still using MINI blinds on the four windows in that spare bedroom.......
I know.......I KNOW........
they are SOOO out of style but I am soooo out of money most of the time and just can't replace them at this time.  The plantation blinds are about $50 for that size window and I have a hard time coming up with $200 for blinds....so many other things we need.

It's ok, tho....these little cutie curtains are going to make those teeny tiny mini blinds look just fine. (I am so on the hunt for 4 sets of wooden  PLANTATION  SHUTTERS....wouldn't they be adorable ...)
There's lots of others things I hope to get done this summer.
If I get ALL these finished, I will be tap dancin' all over the place.
The man should go to work for
Mackenzie Childs.

He has all the painting done....
we are just jumpin' thru our skin to get those brass balls on top and the brass knobs on the front.
They are due to arrive on  3/30  soooooo......

XOXO
bj

Love Bunny is exactly the same way, sugar. He'll do anything I want him to do. All I have to say is "make it happen" and he does.

You sure do like black, white and red together. So do I!!!!

Looking good, chick!

xoxo,
Connie

Looking good! I don't know about your two left thumbs and crafting. I've been copying you all afternoon. Joel 2:25. Yup. I couldn't find where you did the stenciling, but I'm sure it's here somewhere. I think you should be like Ceekay and start praying for what you would like...Lord, it's BJ and I'd love some plantation shutters...=D Wonder if Mr. Sweets could come up with some. How tough can they be. (Shhhh...Don't let him read this. He'll not be happy with the suggestion.)

You are so lucky to have a hubby who will help with projects! I am on such a strict budget also and so projects are prioritized and worked on slowly. Your guest room will be awesome. Hugs, Linda

My gosh, woman! What a great post. You CAN do those things- You KNOW you can and you have been proving it to yourself all along. Now the one thing I know you CAN do to beat the band is COOK..and BAKE! How many of these crafters do you think cannot boil water without burning the pan? LOTS of them, I bet. See, each person has their own special talents...and you have lots of them so don't fret the ones you don't have.

I can't wait to see that danged shelf finished. I am as excited as you are! xo Diana

HI BJ! I didn't know the PB curtains were discontinued, I have them in my kitchen, glad I didn't wait on them! I have the mini blinds on my diningroom and livingroom doors and would love to have bambo blinds but sometimes you have to pick and chose maybe one day huh? I just love your shelf and it's coming along great, what a great guy you have♥
BTW I can't cook! lol

Your shelf is looking fabulous! How about using roll down blinds with a fancy design at the bottom with some of your material and some pretty trim on it? I know pull down shades have really been dressed up to look awesome!

OH MY GOODNESS!!! Just "LOOK" at your GORGEOUS Shelf! That is so incredible. You are a Lucky Gal! I have LOTS and LOTS of those project baskets set up too... I'm thinking there MUST be some of that black paint left over from your shelf for the legs of the stool! AND while the paintbrush is already "WET"!!! Get it out there...
I think you owe Sweet Hubby a breakfast in bed!!! Then hand him the paint brush, hehe.
Big Hugs to you,
Donna

Your new shelf is looking great BJ! I think you should bite the bullet and set up your guest room using the items you have, you can always add more as you find them-enjoy:@)

I just love your taste, and I would love a bed dressed like your inspiration photo. Maybe I need to start gathering fabrics, etc. and have the patience to collect like you have.

And I would love plantation shutters too. I've priced them, though. Ouchie Ouch Ouch Ouch.

And your shelf looks wonderful! It's nearly finished. You are going to have a masterpiece.

Oh BJ...I know you can do those makeovers.
The key to stenciling...tape down the stencil good and use a basically dry brush. You can always add more paint.
Marty is the expert seat redoer....and I know she would have some great hints for that...and your hubby...well, he just has me amazed!!
Watch on CL for people that make plantation shutters...they are way cheaper than the big stores. Shhh...don't tell, but I got them in the MH!! I am crazy for them...

I feel like you do, BJ. I have a mind just full of projects for Spring & Summer and I'm getting so antsy to begin!
I'm looking forward to seeing all your finished projects because I know you can and will get them all done!
You've got a winner there with that shelf...and with Mr. Sweet, of course!

Love the wispy curtains:) They are going to look sooooo pretty! THAT SHELF is AWESOME! Mr. SWEET is also AWESOME! ENJOY your day my friend, HUGS!

That shelf (bottom pic) is AMAZING. I love the red/white/black color scheme. Hope all goes well with the room redo. I don't think too much can go wrong taking down that wallpaper border, but be careful, especially if you're up on a step or chair to do it. ;)

Hi bj, Your guest room is going to look great! Are we all invited? I think the mini blinds will be fine for the privacy of your guests. I have plantation shutters in a few rooms, and while they are beautiful they do take up a great deal of room on the sides of the windows when they are open--like french doors you need to plan space around them! Can't wait to see the finished shelf! Linda

I am going to steal that black and white masterpiece (even if Mr sweet comes along with it!!)

Im right there with you in the possible dunce corner BJ. Some of my projects turn out so awfully they never get blogged about.

But...I think we could both do a stencilled bucket. Cute! And use spray enamel for the legs of your chair. Much much easier.

And by the way I think you have one of the most gorgeous collections of things I’ve ever seen. You have style and charm in abundance!

Dear sweet AND very smart friend! :)
(ooooh..nooo..you still have wall paper border up in the guest room?? Rea..lly??) Sheesh, bj!!

I am about to burst with plans too..like ..painting my patio set..RED!! LOL Lotta paint! Lotta paint..but ..what color??
Be honest..too much red??
butter yellow? I just cannot..CANNOT make a decision on this!
So..you with the delightful and enviable idea, what color? The fabric for the cushions is a sort of brick red..with a little lime green leaf and a gold bumble bee here and there..

The shelf! YOU think YOU are about to jump out of YOUR skin?? I have serious, and I do MEAN serious, shelf envy here!!
*extremely heavy sigh* I may need to take a pill!!

Oh my, the shelf is looking fabulous!
PB curtains are very overpriced as well as a lot of their other things!
That shelf is killer, and I am not even a fan of MC!
