~ Bits and Bobs.... AKA.... Random ~

If you've seen these frozen biscuits in your market freezer section
and wondered if they were good...
 O HONEY
 ....they are TOTALLY awesome ....

20 minutes in the oven and when they come out,
have that butter handy...
maybe some
CINNAMON BUTTER.....
or some of that
FREEZER STRAWBERRY JAM...
you are gonna be sooo glad you baked them......and so will your hubby and kids.

Mr. Sweet and I can't get enuf CHICKEN SALAD when the weather starts turning warm.
If you like chicken salad, don't forget to stock several cans in your pantry.....
talk about a LIFE SAVER when someone comes in and you need something to fix
QUICK.
OUR favorite way to make it is to use big, juicy, sweet grapes.....
and chopped celery.....
and chopped pecans......
and REAL mayo.....
ohmygosh...i am getting hungry for it RIGHT NOW.
We like it "the regular way", too...
especially for sandwiches.
Sometimes, you can find cans of WHITE chicken on sale and when I do,
I always buy several.
Do you put pickles and onions and celery and mayo and eggs and.......
what else ?
and it's funny how a little
$3.  thrifted
WHITE CERAMIC CAMEL
can make you smile every time you walk by it.
Really.....what is it about certain things that never fail to make us happy,
if it cost a thousand dollars or only ONE ?
See.......I told you it was RANDOM.... :)
Well......guess that's about all I've got to say about that....
Ya'll have a wonderful rest of the week.
LOVE AND HUGS,
bj

OH....
meant to show you the progress on THE shelf...

He has the lid to a canister that PATTI painted for me
and the Mackenzie Childs sugar bowl ....along with the picture of
THE shelf in MC catalog
all in front of him as he paints.
MC pieces are free-hand stripes....not taped off to be perfect....
that's part of the charm of Mackenzie Childs.
Mr. Sweet is really nervous about the yellows and blues added to MC pieces....
they are so subtle and faint but THERE.
"I have faith in ya, sweetie"
I'll be joining in the fun with

Gosh, your chicken salad looks so delicious! I've seen those biscuits at the grocery store but have never tried them. Sounds perfect to serve with the chicken salad!

You have all kinds of excitement going on over there!

LOVE that shelf!!! Glad you have a Mr. Sweet!!!

LD makes a great chicken salad but he always cooks his chicken in the pressure cooker. Those things scare me.

I may try to make some from the canned soon. We are eating weird.....trying to clean out the fridge and freezer. Not much fun.

Oooh tht looks yummy. I was at Hobby Lobby today and saw mirrors that would look perfect.

We had chicken salad last night for dinner...and Grand's biscuits! Mine were from the can and didn't puff up like yours. As for the salad, I had roasted a chicken on Sunday, so I used that, celery, eggs, sweet pickles and mayo. I love it with nuts and grapes too...or apples sometimes.

The shelf is amazing!! He is doing such a great job, oh my...you are going to be so happy!!!

Oh how I love chicken salad and biscuits! Have I ever told you that my hubby won't eat anything in it that contains "wet chicken"? That's what he calls it. I'm telling ya....no boiled chicken really limits what you can fix. I make it when he's gone or when company is coming.

Your shelf is going to be amazing!

The shelf is looking good...I love the chicken salad with grapes, but I use almonds...it is perfect for a quick salad. I love mine especially with fresh roasted chicken that I shred, not cut. I just think it taste better that way!!

Oh BJ, that shelf is going to be just bee-yoo-tee-ful! You have such a wonderful husband.

And our favorite things to put in chicken salad happen to be grapes, pecans, and onions, among other things. I like a little curry in it, too.

Oh I had no idea that the work was all free hand. Yowzer. That would be tough. I can tell already that it's going to be a total delight. We'll all be telling you guys that you did better than M.Childs. Ha!

Now why am I hungry for biscuits and chicken salad?

Linda (More Fun Less Laundry) said...

I can't wait to see the finished shelf! I was wondering if he would do the subtle shadow striping too!! I like dried cranberries in my chicken salad--actually anything except onions--I'm really allergic. Grapes sound yummy too! Sometimes I keep the leftover green salad and add it to tuna or chicken salad the next day. That is really good too! Have a wonderful night. Hope your weather is good. It is cold here! Linda

We love chicken salad here, too, but I make it very plain with just celery and sweet onion. I'm not one for grapes in my salad but I know a lot of people around here that make it that way.

Your shelf is looking wonderful...your hubs is a sweetie! I can't wait to see the finished project! :)

XO,
Jane

Hey bj, Wow, what a husband and a good sport! He has that MC shelf looking like it does in the catalog. Well, he's pretty lucky himself, just look at all those delicious goodies you server him every day. Sounds like a match made in heaven! Oh I would love to spend the day with you and have chicken salad for lunch.
Enjoy the spring day.

I buy those biscuits, too. We don't eat too many carbs, but when the kids come they love them with their chicken strips.

Well, I'll try those biscuits, based on YOUR recommendation only, BJ, 'cus if anyone knows biscuits, its YOU!!!
I don't care for the Grands out of the tube, so I hope these are better. I REALLY liked YOUR recipe, which I completely forgot to post about trying for the first time.

LOVEN' your shelf's progress! YAY, Mr. Sweet!!

Hugs,
Rett

p.s. Try a wee bit of fresh tarragon in your next chicken salad. Nice change of flavor & very popular around here.

Well, I love a random post cuz that is just the way my mind works! lol I can't wait to see your shelf done. Mr.Sweet IS so sweet to make one for you.

I have never tried those biscuits but I will pick some up now. And chicken salad is our favorite, too. I add cashews to my own and a bit of dried tarragon. YUM..Now I AM hungry for it. Would you believe I have never used the canned chicken? I always figured it would be kind of "soggy", I guess.

Have a wonderful Thursday- xo Diana

I'm sayin'. I've always made my own biscuits but last year I won a Grand package with butter dish, knife, basket and coupons for free Grands.

They were great, not as good a homemade, but great anyway.

I adore you little white camel. What a treasure.

God bless ya and have yourself a blissful kinda day!!!
