A Dream Revisited

I have posted about the MAGNIFICENT  GIFT  our family gave to
Mr. Sweet and myself, for our 50th anniversary, in 2010.
AN ALASKAN CRUISE...
O MY.......

I don't know why, but I always cry my eyes out over things like this...
We both were in total SHOCK.

One of our favorite spots on the cruise....
KETCHIKAN, ALASKA
It was so clean and bright and just a beautiful sea-side port.
The long BRIDGE taking us from the ship into this beautiful little town.
As I was walking this wooden planked bridge,
the tune of ♫♪♪....under the boardwalk.....down by the sea....♪♫♫
was running thru my mind.
This beautiful KETCHIKAN was, by far, the most picturesque of all the ports we were in.

"ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END...."
or so they say.

As my Texas cowboy and I boarded the ship to leave KETCHIKAN, it might have "come to an end"
but it will never end in our memories.

Our thanks, once more to our sweet family for gifting us a trip that we will never ever, in a million, trillion years, FORGET......

......almost 2 years later, I still cry when I think of it all....

I remember reading that post; very touching. Never been on a cruise; kind of nervous on the water.

«Louis» thought there weren't many possibilities for a bridge post for a blog in Lubbock, TX (his home town...) - but look what you came up with! Fantastic! He thanks you for this fine contribution to his 100th Sunday Bridge Series post!

You were very blessed with this magnificent gift, BJ. My hubby loves Alaska. So remember your share back then ...

I am going to be sharing with you a new recipe I came up with for frosting those sugar cookies ... my gosh!!! It is to die for. You like Maple Bars? Then you will never want another one after eating this frosting on that cookie.

Happy Valentine's

The Alaskan cruise was my very first cruise and since we have done the Eastern Caribbean twice, the Western Caribbean and we are planning the southern caribbean for next winter - We enjoy traveling this way and seeing all the different islands - I want to go to the Mediteranean (but my husband is leary)...you MUST take another!

My favorite part of the alaskan cruise was taking a helicopter over the glaciers and landing on a glacier, walking around - it was scary and exciting! I also enjoyed Sitka
