.......and it snowed today 2/12/12

LOVE is getting a little snow when it is sooo needed.
Only a dusting.....

but it put me in the mood for making something tasty for our cold, snowy, wintery morning on the Plains of West Texas.

Out came a cookbook
and, while the
Dunkin Donuts coffee perked, I decided on.........

I didn't have PECANS on hand but I had WALNUTS...
I chopped them fine with my mom's olden, vintage CHOPPER
and added the MAPLE FLAVORING....
and got out the MAPLE SYRUP.
ALAS....
because I need to work with the recipe a bit more....I may have left something OUT...darn it...
I will give you this recipe later.

Don't get me wrong....the waffles were good..
...I've never met a waffle I didn't like.

They just didn't KNOCK MY SOX off and I like to bring really GOOD recipes to you.
So, I need to backtrack and see where I went wrong here.
I KNOW it isn't something wrong with the recipe..
I probably didn't add enuf salt.....or something....
I'll be checking it out.

IN THE MEANTIME....
it is STILL snowing...and WE LOVE IT....(2/12/12)
 ♥ ♥ ♥
The moisture is sooo needed out here on the plains.
We are appreciative of every flake that falls.
XOXOXO, bj

This snow is so pretty! I'm over a state from you and we didn't get it...how disappointing it was! Your waffles sounds really good...Didn't bother me...if I had gotten an invite I would have eaten them...all! lol. Hope you have a delightful evening! Luv ya!

So very unusual to see snow in your world. It really does look perfectly natural and at home there, though. If you'd like more, I'd like to turn this Nor'easter the weather frogs are talking about back around. (Weather frogs said it started down in the Gulf of Mexico...guess that's a bit east of you folks.)

You already show more snow than we've had in Philly all season! Love that you can capture the snow flakes in your pics:@)

Hi Bj!

Looks mighty cold there... but will that be enough to help with the drought?

If nothing else it gave you a good morning to make those yummy waffles!

I sure wish I could have coffee with you some morning....

Yup. Where I am we are still waiting. All we get is the gross wet stuff. I miss the nice white flakes.

I am in sunny Florida for a few weeks and I am laughing at you right now - how weird!...I left a few inches of snow in NY - don't miss it at all!

The snow looks really beautiful. We had some on Saturday. Big fluffy flakes....snowed for about 20 minutes and then stopped. My kind of snow.

Woman, do you do nothing but cook?!?! Hasn't anyone told you that's what Applebees, Olive Garden and Outback are for? They even bus and do the dishes, sugar. Sigh....pity you haven't heard. ;-)

Connie
A good day is when I don't HAVE to cook...at all!

Happy Valentine's Day dear BJ:-) I hope your day was a special one!!

How wonderful that you got some snow, it sure does look pretty, don't it! We still have a lot of snow here and will be around until the end of March or so.

I'm like you, when a recipe doesn't turn out right, I need to try it again and see what went wrong:-) xoxo

We had snow on Sunday night/Monday morning. It was nice. It is now about gone since we were at 52 today according to my computer.

Don't you love it when it snows...it's magical, like you are inside your own white cocoon! We have only had a tiny bit and although I don't like to drive in it, I miss it. Your pictures are so pretty! I hope your recipe gets a little tweaking...it looks so good!

We just got a few flakes. Nothing like this and I am glad. I will be happy to see warmer days get here and stay. However, not like last summers.

I am so happy you got some snow! I hope you get some more to help with your drought.

Your waffles look good! I think of you everytime I make something with pecans.

After such a long hot dry summer it must be just wonderful look out and see all that lovely snow! Nothing like that has happened in Riverside since I've lived here which has been about 40 years. Freeze, yes, but no snow. Only in those high mountains. We can only see it but not touch it unless we brave traffic and crowds, etc. to get there.
Your waffles look just fine to me! Yummy, in fact! :)
