LOVE

  On Jan. 23,
NATIONAL PIE DAY
happened.

PIE is one of my favorites of all desserts...
just about ANY kind of pie suits me to a T.

I had been sick a few days before this momentous occasion and
SURE didn't feel like MAKING a pie...
but, I have had pie on NAT. PIE DAY
forever .....
SOOOO
out of the freezer came THESE....
CHERRY TURNOVERS..
the best little store-bought pies you've ever tasted....
puff pastry with fruit filling....
I always brush mine with butter and
sprinkle sugar and cinnamon on the tops.
 ...coupled with coffee ice cream...
O  HONEY

The craft stores have so many cute VALENTINE
things to make....from really elaborate to
VERY simple crafts.

Next time, DEEDS comes over, she and I can
get our craft on. I even saved her a
CHERRY PIE.....Grandmothers do that, ya know.:)

....like these adorable little stick-on letters....

Being a non-crafter, I am not sure just what you use these cuties for but there's bound to be a lot of things these would work on.
Probably things like scrapbooking.....

I think they look pretty cute on a plain, white dish, too.....

I sure do love
NATIONAL PIE DAY....
I sure do love .......PIE and YOU !

Pie is on my list of favorite foods too. The turnovers look yummy and I can just taste the cinnamon and sugar on my tongue. Thanks for sharing.

Oh yes, pie...I love it as well, all kinds and all flavours:-) I made an apple pie last week and now I'm wondering if I made it on National Pie Day and I didn't even know! lol I've had those puff pastry turnovers and I agree with you, they're simply scrumptious.

Those letter stickers are so cute and what a great idea to use them on a plate:-) I'm sure you and Deeds will have fun making Valentine crafts! xoxo

The best part of a turn over is that it is just the right size. I always love visiting your blog. It is a welcoming to home visit every time.

Your rant has me in stitches...

Okay, I have always loved those little turnovers because they are perfect to have around when you need something for company. An easy dessert that's almost out of mind when they're at the bottom of the freezer. I love the blueberry ones best.

Glad that you are feeling better. I was sorry to learn at Auntie's that you weren't feeling so great, but you soldiered on!

I enjoy Pie far better than cake.
You set such an adorable table. Love those letter stickers.

Looks not only delicious put like a crowd pleaser here. Two's a crowd, of course, and the other half calls cherry cakes and pies his favorites.

And I'm having a whale of a time with blogger or google too!

You know, if they would stop trying to make things better they might stop making them worse!

Darn! I always miss Pie Day.
I love pie and I must say I bake a chocolate pie
that can make the angels sing. No humble pie for me today. ;-)

Oh, my that looks good. Coffee ice cream is a favorite of mine. Never tried it with pie.
I was having the same trouble with my blog last week and it finally stopped. I got so sick of it jumping down to comments.

Not fair, BJ, this looks so good! I haven't had any breads, pastas or tortillas, & no sugar for almost 3 weeks. I'll be looking forward to having something yummy in a few more weeks.

My sister Leslie worked for Pepperidge Farm for 35 years and brought home a lot of discounted goodies for us. If a turnover or pie was just slightly over browned or under, it was sold in the employee discount shop for pennies!! I really grew to love those little turnovers!!

Happy National Pie Day to you and I hope you feel better soon.

XO,
Jane

I had a Valentines party many years ago and I served 14 kinds of pie. It was a slice of heaven. Richard from My Old Historic House.

puff and pie said...

I make a very good puff & pie crust that uses butter. The dough is only combined until all the flour has been hydrated. It resembles a very coarse meal padded together. It makes the best pies, very flaky.
