Hello, ladies...
I just wanted to share a cool gift idea that worked out really well for one of our gifts to our daughter*in*law, KATHY.
A lot of my bloggy friends know that my son, DAVID KEITH,
and his sweetie, KATHY, own a large and beautiful
GRAPE VINEYARD out here in West Texas.
Sometimes, during the summer, I do a photo shoot of this pretty vineyard.
THIS is one of my favorite photos of a luncheon in the vineyard....
it looks like a painting to me.
THANKFULLY, it looked like a painting to FIFI FLOWERS, too
and she painted it. "THANK YOU, FIFI." ♥
I had it framed and gave it to son and daughter in law that following Christmas.
They were thrilled.....
Wanting to give her something for this CHRISTMAS to carry out the
VINEYARD THEME that she has going in her lovely home,
I came up with the following....
I bought a large FILLABLE, glass lamp and
filled it almost full with WINE CORKS...
I like a little of the clear glass showing for contrast....
I bought a large box of incredible wine corks off of EBAY...
a super place to get all you might want of corks for use in so many awesome crafts.
I found the perfect shade at
TARGET....
and since it would be hard to WRAP to go under the Christmas tree,
I just
and since it would be hard to WRAP to go under the Christmas tree,
I just
tied a big RED PLAID BOW
around the shade.....
and sit it under the tree.
and sit it under the tree.
It made an awesome looking lamp and one that will
be the topic of conversation around their home for awhile , I am sure.
Probably along the lines of "did ya'll drink ALL THAT WINE?" ...hahaaha
I just hope she doesn't say, "Noooo, my mother*in*law did....."
I love ya, Kathy girl.
.....hope everyone has a FABULOUS day.

It must be absolutely bloomin' wonderful to have you as a mother-in-law (in your case, mother-in-love!). Very cool lamp. That painting is pretty cool too! xo

now thats a beauty, also a beautiful painting!
Very pretty! I love your photos of the vineyard.
I would love to visit their vineyard sometime when I am in Texas! Love the painting from your photograph (That Fifi is so talented). The lamp with the wine corks is really clever. I have a collection of corks and I know some day I'll figure out something to do with them. hugs, Linda
What a cute parting line! You are a very clever and thoughtful gifter. Someone who really goes the extra mile. I really like both last year's and the year before's gifts.
we have a large glass container in which we keep our corks. We often have people say, "oh my, did you drink all that wine?" to which my husband responds, "yes, but not in one night."
I did not know that they had the vineyard....since we are in the nursery business, my hubby would love to know the name of their place. He is always interested in knowing those that grow grapes of any kind...
Great idea Bj..
What a great MIL you are BJ, that lamp is awesome!! Beautiful painting too. Martina
Love the photo & how Fifi captured the beauty of it. The lamp is just fabulous of an idea & I love the bow.
Between your deelish meals & grand gifts, you are going to have a lot of us wanting to be a relative.
Have a fabulous week.

Alas, we have no more Ruby Tuesday. It was such a surprise as there was not 'hint' of it going down. I'm bummed. But viewing your vineyard photos brightened my morning.
Gorgeous! I've been looking for one and even asked for one for Christmas but didn't get one:( Kathy has one terrific mother-in-law, I bet she was really surprised! Lucky girl!
