THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO ALL WOMEN WHO HAVE BREAST CANCER
OR HAVE HAD IT IN THE PAST ..

We all love you so much and think that you are some of the BRAVEST women that have ever walked the face of this planet !

Our hats off and our hearts out to ALL OF YOU PINK WARRIORS !

AS I have done every year in October since I started blogging,
I will post something PINK in all my posts throughout the month of October.
Just my way of reminding...keeping it out front...helping to
FIGHT the FIGHT for the CURE.
LADIES, we must continue our fight against BREAST CANCER !

PLEASE continue to have mammograms, self exams and support the fight in every way that you can !

We MUST keep the fight against breast cancer alive ALL YEAR LONG...not just during the month of OCTOBER....

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women today (after lung cancer) and is the most common cancer among women, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1.3 million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually worldwide about 465,000 will die from the disease.
♥♥♥Breast cancer death rates have been dropping steadily since 1990, according to the Society, because of earlier detection and better treatments.

I don't have breast cancer nor anyone in our family has it. I do have two very good friends that have fought it ......and both have won their fight. Praise be to our Heavenly Father and for all the awareness that is going on now.
EARLY DETECTION is crucial ..

It is a cause that I have always felt very strongly about and is always on my mind. I don't have much money to donate......but, I CAN help to make awareness of this disease more available and
....SO CAN YOU !

HOMEMADE....FROM SCRATCH....BROWN SUGAR ICING

ARE NOT MINE...

I take the time to make homemade when I can...

but, when I CAN'T...

I DO THIS...

Keep cans of ORANGE CINNAMON ROLLS in the fridge AT ALL TIMES !

Heaven forbid that we wake up, ready for ORANGE CINNAMON ROLLS and

THERE ARE NONE !

I melt a little BUTTAH...and slather it ALL OVER THOSE ROLLS...

then, I add just a little LOW FAT CREME CHEESE on the tops...

sprinkle on a tad more CINNAMON...I do love me some extra Cinnamon...

sprinkle with pecans and POP IT ALL IN THE OVEN....

and.....WAIT

NOW...I must say that once these BAD BOYS are baked..

it's a tad bit hard to spread that luscious ORANGE icing over the pecans.....but...it works.

The taste of the roasted pecans just about KNOCK YOUR SOX OFF...sooo good.

Once that icing dries, the pecans are locked in and EVERYthing is....

READY TO EAT... ♥♥

I just LUV tiny little pumpkins...

O....there's NO doubt that HOMEMADE are MUCH better. ♥

GOOD OAT BREAD....

My sweet blogging friend that lives 

with a infamous pig named EARL

over at HAPPIER THAN A PIG IN MUD

is one of the better cooks.

She made a LIGHT OAT BREAD that sounded so good, I had to try it.

I am a HORRIBLE bread maker..never have very much luck with making HOMEMADE bread.

so I decided to make mine into rolls, which we love.

Got out my YEAST  which was a little past expiration date..not much....but some.

I love that the company is supporting breast cancer research by having a 

BAKE FOR THE CURE.  ♥

OK...then I wondered if I could use this amazing IRISH OATMEAL ♥

for my bread....?....decided I was too much of a titty baby to try something new

so I went with the regular OLD FASHION rolled oats.

Isn't that metal can just amazing, tho...I will be adding THIS CAN to my pile of CANS and BOTTLES

so that I can be a smash hit on HOARDERS tv. program.....

Daughter, STACY, brought this can of STEEL CUT oats to me from one of her trips.

I WISH I had a bread machine...but....alas...I do not.

So it was all done by hand....

I LUV my dough beaters that came with my hand-held BLACK AND DECKER mixer.

Coolest mixer I've ever had. Love it...

My mother used to make the best breads, rolls, cakes, pies...baking was her strong suite. She was a fabulous cook of all things but she really excelled at BAKING.
She, of course, didn't have a bread machine, either. Her old wooden spoons were worn smooth on the sides from all the stirring, folding, whipping that she did with them.
Where ARE THOSE SPOONS? Maybe my brother has them....

I guess my yeast WASN'T alright to use because my rolls did not rise up high and mountainous.

They had the BEST yeast flavor...but I admit before the world that they were NOT light and flaky.

...just keepin' it real.....

 ...can you see the oatmeal scattered throughout..?

OK, covering them up so they will stay warm a little longer...

Mr. Sweet hasn't come back from work-out yet and when he does....

he's going to love these LIGHT Oat rolls..

since the recipe uses HONEY instead of SUGAR...makes for a more healthy bread.

Next time, I will use half white and half whole wheat flower flour...

Well, like I said, I covered them up...but not before taking a couple out to...

TRY THEM OUT...

...to see if they tasted good...

....and THEY DID...

My mother's VINTAGE CAKE PLATE is used for so many things around Sweet Nothings. ♥♥

It's not just for CAKES anymore...

"ODE TO POWDERED SUGAR" or "I REALLY SHOULD GET OUT MORE"...

I'm pretty sure I need to take this

EAT CAKE

out of my kitchen.....!!

It keeps reminding me of ALL THINGS SWEET...

and this morning, we are having fresh, warm BEIGNETS..

ROLL 'EM OUT....

....CUT 'EM OUT...

FRY 'EM UP....

...and drain those little square pieces of GOODNESS...

get as much oil out of them as possible...

At THIS point in the LIFE OF A BEIGNET,

it is a little square of BROWN...

granted....a pretty GOLDEN BROWN....

but BROWN just the same.

Oh, they TASTE good...even at this stage.

....especially if you have a tub of butter close by that you can slather on them...

BUT their day in the SUN  hasn't happened....... YET...

It's getting close...we need to let them COOL just a bit and then..

we can give them a DUSTING OF LUSCIOUS POWDERED SUGAR...

.....much resembling SNOW

Little tiny mountains, covered with a dusting of  SNOW...

The kind of *SNOW* that can bring a grown man to his KNEES....

 I see caverns...and caves....and dark tunnel places..

 ...a mountain range of snow peaks..
"COME ON, MR. SWEET....let's eat 'em all up !!"

O...don't worry....I SAVED SOME FOR YOU !!
