BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH is OCTOBER

THIS POST IS DEDICATED TO ALL WOMEN WHO HAVE BREAST CANCER
OR HAVE HAD IT IN THE PAST ..
We all love you so much and think that you are some of the BRAVEST women that have ever walked the face of this planet !
Our hats off and our hearts out to ALL OF YOU PINK WARRIORS !
AS I have done every year in October since I started blogging,
I will post something PINK in all my posts throughout the month of October.
Just my way of reminding...keeping it out front...helping to
FIGHT the FIGHT for the CURE.
LADIES, we must continue our fight against BREAST CANCER !
PLEASE continue to have mammograms, self exams and support the fight in every way that you can !
We MUST keep the fight against breast cancer alive ALL YEAR LONG...not just during the month of OCTOBER....

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women today (after lung cancer) and is the most common cancer among women, excluding non-melanoma skin cancers. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1.3 million women will be diagnosed with breast cancer annually worldwide about 465,000 will die from the disease.
♥♥♥Breast cancer death rates have been dropping steadily since 1990, according to the Society, because of earlier detection and better treatments.
 PINKS that join in the
FIGHT FOR THE CURE....

I don't have breast cancer nor anyone in our family has it. I do have two very good friends that have fought it ......and both have won their fight. Praise be to our Heavenly Father and for all the awareness that is going on now.
EARLY DETECTION is crucial ..

It is a cause that I have always felt very strongly about and is always on my mind. I don't have much money to donate......but, I CAN help to make awareness of this disease more available and
....SO CAN YOU !

AND......so can fellas like this one ....
don't we love it and don't we appreciate it...
ooo, we sure do !!
DELTA AIR LINES....
the more PINK that's out there, the more we are all reminded...
Google this and read all about what a great thing they are doing.....
also, the wonderful SHADOW the plane is casting allows me to play with
HEY HARRIET...SHADOW SHOT SUNDAY
and that means more readers will see the post...and be AWARE.

Sweet Candy SPONSORING
FIGHT FOR THE CURE...
allows me to play in SWEETS FOR A SATURDAY
meaning more readers will be made AWARE.
My grocery store, like yours, is full of PINK during
OCTOBER, BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH..
but WE CAN'T STOP THERE...we have to be reminded
ALL YEAR LONG !  ♥
I absolutely LOVE this.....
every time we see a touch of PINK, we remember our loved ones and friends
that have or have had this deadly disease and we
PRAY A LITTLE HARDER !

I know we ALL appreciate the companies that support the FIGHT FOR THE CURE....
I sure do and I try my very best to purchase PINK over anything else.
I just bought a beautiful PINK candle with 95% of the sales going to help
FIGHT THE FIGHT...there's so many other items out there to help the cause...
Just watch for them.....SOMEONE WILL THANK YOU !

Did you know you could buy PINK grocery bags with proceeds going to the
CURE ?
I didn't but.....I sure do now and I am getting some!
Imagine taking them in a grocery store, reminding someone of this dreaded illness and them going home, calling for their long over-due MAMMOGRAM ..
.all because they saw YOU with your PINK GROCERY BAGS....

WAY TO GO, GIRLS....JOIN THE FIGHT IN ANY WAY THAT YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH.....

Wearing PINK, giving PINK, just TALKING PINK
IS GOING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE !!

.......IT SAVES LIVES.....

This is a disease  that CAN be beaten. We just have to keep it foremost in our minds so we are reminded to FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT....

The money earned thru all the wonderful ways our country has pitched in to help
FIGHT, has been put to good use in early detection, helping more women to have mammograms, the new, powerful drugs and new technology.

PINK is TO REMEMBER.... !!!!!!
REMEMBER TO PRAY........
REMEMBER TO GIVE .............
REMEMBER TO FIGHT !!!!!!!!!!
FIGHT FOR THE CURE...
PLEASE don't forget to click, EVERY DAY, on the pink ribbons for free mammograms for the women that can't afford to pay for one.
The clickable ribbons are on a lot of blogger sidebars.... mine included...
Would YOU think about adding a clickable button to YOUR sidebar ?

Just OUR click EVERY day....MAKES A DIFFERENCE !

OLIVIA NEWTON JOHN , singer and ROBIN ROBERTS, of Good Morning America, are but two of the many celebrities that have fought and won the battle of BREAST CANCER....
Just think of all the others, our own family members, our friends, other famous people, other people just like you and me......so many lives have been saved because WE CARE....
THANKS TO ALL OF YOU that continue to support THE FIGHT....!!

Go out today and buy your HONEY a pink shirt...he'll be glad you did...and so will you!

One of our local high schools even wears pink jerseys for one of their October games. And the stands are full of pink t-shirts that people have bought for the cause. Numbers do count. Thanks for a great blog today.

I had a mammogram in October 2009 & found myself in the early 2010 having 3 operations & the diagnosis of Breast Cancer. Then followed the radiation..... I am now at the age of almost 60 cancer free!!
Thank God for the technology of Mammogrames. They saved my life!!

My younger sister is a 2 yr Survivor. What a daunting, painful, fight it is but she is cancer-free now and LOVING life. . .Yoplait and Dannon Yogurt are both making contributions in the fight against Breast Cancer - all we need to do is enter a code that is on the inside of the lid (Dannon), and collect & mail in the lids for Yoplait. I eat lots of Yogurt so this is an easy way for me to help.

GREAT post!

You go girl...you tell 'em! I've had my mammo and I encourage all others to do the same. We also talk to everyone about prostate cancer which can be detected with a simple blood test. My husband had it at 48, which is before the blood test is recommended. We tell men to go earlier than the recommended 50. Luckily, my husband did and it saved his life.

Hi BJ and thanks for stopping by...you will have to post the black and white check tiles in your kitchen - I'll bet it looks great! In my kitchen it wasn't that I didn't like it, but the previous owner installed it himself and did a very poor job of it. Very messy! Sooooo, it had to go! See what I mean?
We ought to have a "show you kitchen day"! I'll bet lots of bloggers have B&W tiles too!

BJ, you have such generosity of spirit. As my daughter always tells me, "Cancer is a thief." As I tell her, "I believe that you will see many cures for cancer in your lifetime."

What a great post, BJ!
My dear old friend is struggling with breast cancer and all the hope and horror of her treatment. There's not a night that I don't think of her and pray.

I will get that pink ribbon on my side bar pronto!

I try to buy pink whenever I can. I picked the pink tic tacs over the other flavor just because they were pink. Some item...but it all ads up!

I sent my donation today in honor of my 42 y o niece who had a double mastectomy last month.
There is no family history of cancer.
She is the mom of 4,. Her 6 y o son is severely brain damaged from lack of oxygen at 2 months. He needs so much care. I pray she will recover and regain her health, and that they will find a cure.
More money should go for cancer research than studies to find out why owls have spots. Who gives a hoot?
Have a great weekend!

This is a wonderful post BJ! I have not had breast cancer, nor has anyone in my family, BUT four of my good friends have. Fortunately in each case the cancer was found early because of a mammogram and each one of these 4 wonderful women are alive and well today. That is a fact for which I am so very grateful. Congrats to you for supporting and reminding us of such an important cause!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

I clicked for the cure & the cause! My mother just returned from her check up at M.D. Anderson- twelve years cancer free and counting!!! I posted your fantastic words of encouragement and pink examples on my Facebook page. My blog header went pink last night and will remain in the pink for the entire month of October- Breast Cancer Awareness Month. My prayers continue for my mother, all survivors & those in, and facing, the fight. Healing thoughts & love!

Thank you for this pink-ified post, BJ! It's wonderful.

Awareness is so important. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer nine years ago and she is still going strong.

And yes, to answer your question, you may add my name to your list. I think you may have done so already!

I see a Patti there...

P.S. I completed the walk yesterday! So proud of myself.
