"The stockings were hung by the chimney with care.....

My mother made the most beautiful RED VELVET stockings for my son, DAVID, and daughter, STACY when they were first born...
David's has a SANTA....and little golden pins scattered around over the stocking.
David will be 48 yrs old in February....
and yet, I can still see him, plain as day, each Christmas morning,
running to check to see what was in his stocking....he was always such a sweet little boy...and now he is a sweet sweet man...
bwaaaaaaaaaa
Stacy's has an adorable CHRISTMAS TREE...
with, again, special golden things scattered around on it....and a cute
rocking horse.
Stacy will be 43 in April...
these olden stockings are still just beautiful....and Stacy is more beautiful
today than ever. She has a heart as big as all outdoors and both she and her brother
have brought more joy and love to their daddy and I than I can ever express strong enuf.
We love you, David and Stacy.

Growing up with such lovely stockings at Christmastime,
Stacy wanted RED velvet stockings for HER children...
but my sweet mother had moved to Heaven long before her great-grandchildren
were born. This is something that still breaks my heart. How she would have
loved all these wonderful gifts from God....
and how they would have loved HER.
And, as most of you know, I AM CRAFTY BONELESS...
Not good at crafts.......at all..
But, I managed to make the stockings....lined them and everything. OH MY
The above belongs to BRYNNA, Deed's older sis.
I thought I would NEVER get all the sequins on...
but......I did.
I cut out Christmas figures from a coloring book, SANTA, SNOWMAN, 2 DIFFERENT ANGELS, A CHRISTMAS TREE, complete with snow at the bottom....
and sequined them...
then, filled in behind with that soft stuff...batting?? fiber fill ?? something like that.
I didn't SEW them on the stockings....waaay too hard for me to do..
but the fabric glue I used has lasted now for 6 years.
I  said a prayer, asking HIM to pass along to my mom that
I NEEDED HER HELP...  ♥♥
I swear....I GOT THE HELP....I could never have done it, otherwise.
I do believe in help from above.......don't you?.......OF COURSE you do...aren't we blessed !
I managed to get 4 stockings for the 4 kiddos
and one for Stacy and Jent.
I haven't made stockings for David's kiddos yet...but, if they want them,
I surely will do it.
Stacy and David both want to leave their original stockings at my house for awhile longer.
Which, I might add....it GREAT with me, too......just seems that's where they are SUPPOSED to be, for now.

I added little 'golden' things to these stockings, too.

...a golden cross
and a golden heart...
I think, on one of them, is a
golden WISH BONE.
When it came time to have the GRANDCHILDREN STOCKINGS at my house for
our annual CHRISTMAS EVE togetherness,
I bought the stockings and enhanced them with jingle bells on the bottoms...
cute little "this and that's", making each child his very own.
With 10 grands, 2 grand-in-laws, 1 great-grandgirl,
there are now 19 Christmas stockings hanging....
How blessed are we !!!
I thank God daily for all our blessings.....
...the stockings were hung by the chimney with care...
In hopes that St. Nickolaus soon would be there....♥♥♥
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL....
LOVE, bj

I love the stockings! My mom made each of my children and my sister's 4 kids their stockings. My daughter's came down in my suitcase to be filled on Christmas morning (she is 27)! I think you did an amazing job making ones very much like your mother did.

I thought I would blog from down here, but it just never happens. Too busy and then too tired. All is well, my dad flew to Illinois this morning and the weather here in Florida is perfect! I wish you and all of yours a wonderful, healthy and happy holiday! I'm blessed to have you as a friend.

Bj- You did a PHENOMENAL job on those stockings. You would make your Mama crying proud! I'd say you have underestimated your craftiness ability!!!

How wonderful to have those stockings. I still have my 4 kids stockings, too. AND I have a set for each of the grandchildren that come to visit. It is so much fun to watch them run there when they come right after Christmas.

You have a beautiful heart, Bj..it just shines through everything you do. xo Diana

How sweet of you to make those stockings and the ones that belonged to your kids still look new. You have taken great care of them. I am not a sewer either. I may work on that some next year. Not sure.

I've loved seeing all your pretty holiday posts but none were as beautiful or as special as this one.
It touched my heart and I thank you for sharing with us all your memories, the stockings from your mom and the ones you and she made together. YES I know we get help from our loved ones who have moved on to another plane. Love Lives Forever.
