The Sights and Smells of Christmas ♥

The sights and sounds, the feel and smells of CHRISTMAS are all around
SWEET NOTHINGS
 ...peppermint, cloves, cinnamon....
Just close you eyes and you see....
Visions of .......COOKIES.
Those above are Gingerbread with a sprinkling of POWDERED SUGAR..
(i think i could eat shoe leather if it had powdered sugar on it...
my mama loved whipped cream and she said she could eat a cow chip
if it had whipped cream.  :>)

Peanut Butter Cookies...
Some with Peanuts...
some without.

1 cup Sugar
1 Egg
1 cup Peanut Butter
Drop by teaspoon full on greased cookies sheet.
350 oven for about 9/10 minutes.

Cookies to pack pretty tins for gifts to family and friends...

O, I love this time of the year....
THESE cookies full of nuts and orange zest and cranberries...
chocolate chips and a little almond flavoring.
♥♥♥ummmmmm....
Your regular Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and add
a little Orange zest...
a handful of cranberries and another handful of chopped pecans...
about a teaspoon full of Almond extract.
O HONEY
...and we'll not forget the little Gingerbread Boys....
I'll add them to the top of the stack of delicious homemade cookies
so they won't smother underneath all the sugar....

THIS has really been a GINGERBREAD MAN
Christmas for me.....

SUCH a delight.....

...all kinds of the prettiest paper
CHRISTMAS napkins and plates...

"Fa, La and La......."

Christmas time is such a loving and warm time of the year. Our loved ones, near and far, always on our minds and in our hearts.
Heard that song about
"....if Heaven wasn't so far away,
I'd go there to spend the day...." ?
something about spending the day with a loved one that was sorely missed.
Wouldn't THAT be a DREAM come true....
I've got those cookies all packed.....labels....
beRibboned and ready to go to sweet family and friends.
♫♫♪...if Heaven wasn't so far away......♫♪♪

You are just a baking queen. I have only made some chocolate chip cookies. I need to add those other things. That sounds really good. I try not to bake too much because I eat it all and don't need any of it. It is the holidays though.

I just may visit some of your links tonight as everyone's busy on my own blogroll. =)

Hmmm...I can almost smell the cinnamon and the ginger. (My oven just bit the dust tonight while baking bacon of all things. No cookies for me this year I guess, unless my hubby takes great pity upon me.)

My Christmas wish for you, my friend
Is not a simple one
For I wish you hope and joy and peace
Days filled with warmth and sun

I wish you love and friendship too
Throughout the coming year
Lots of laughter and happiness
To fill your world with cheer

May you count your blessings, one by one
And when totaled by the lot
May you find all you've been given
To be more than what you sought

May your journeys be short, your burdens light
May your spirit never grow old
May all your clouds have silver linings
And your rainbows pots of gold

I wish this all and so much more
May all your dreams come true
May you have a Merry Christmas friend
And a happy New Year, too .. xoxo

BJ,
You are such a dear friend and neighbor! What a wonderful gift...from your heart and Sweet Nothings Kitchen! When we lived in SouthEast Kansas, I had many neighbors that were widows. Every year we made those small loaves of my delicious cranberry orange bread and delivered them tied with ribbons! The sweet smiles on those ladies faces as they graciously recieved the little loaves was my Christmas gift! Thank you for the reminder...Merry Christmas!
Fondly,
Pat
P.S. You must have been a very "good" girl ...Santa is smiling!

Oh golly gee, wish Blogger had *scratch 'n smell* because I'd love to sniff-sniff-sniff this post of yours!!!!

And what a cute pic, with Santa!!! You are so much fun. :-)

THANK YOU for reminding me of your easy Peanut Butter Cookie recipe!!! I made "Uncle A." a Mincemeat Pie and he's been enjoying it all week. Gone now, and I need to make him something else, for the Holidays. PB Cookies! He loves his Jiff. Purrrrfect.

I'll thank you, FOR him, ahead of time! :-)
