CANNED BISCUITS to make WAFFLES....?
I read, on a blog that, for the life of me, I can't remember WHICH ONE...
that you could make some amazing waffles, really QUICK,
by using GRANDS FLAKY BISCUITS and your waffle iron.
HU ?? GET OUT OF TOWN......!!

HU ?? GET OUT OF TOWN......!!

I am such a semi-homemade girl and I LOVE BREAKFAST
so, of course, I had to give them a try.....all the time thinking,
"Why do this when you can buy the frozen ones already made....."
♥
So, I placed these little raw rounds of goodness on the hot waffle iron,
sprayed first, of COURSE, with PAM,
set my waffle iron to just a few minutes, pressed down on the lid of the iron a little .... and
WALLA......

SHAZAM !!.....aren't they just about the cutest things...
MR. SWEET said they tasted amazing to have started out as a BISCUIT...and canned, at that..such a magical transformation...
Now, he like HIS waffles with EGGS...
and I do believe he added his warmed, MAPLE syrup to his waffles right after I took this photo...he didn't want that syrup to cool off one bit before he could plow into that stack....♥
I know you can make grilled cheese, pannine, probably a LOT of things in your waffle maker but I would never, ever have thought to put biscuits in there....
just blows my skirt up..!!
Now, ME ?.... I happen to love BLUEBERRIES and BLUEBERRY SYRUP,
warmed, of course. ♥
warmed, of course. ♥
My review of these UNUSUAL waffles ....
they taste GREAT...
I didn't get a sense of "taste like a biscuit to me" feeling, AT ALL. ♥
I didn't get a sense of "taste like a biscuit to me" feeling, AT ALL. ♥
They aren't light and fluffy like REAL waffles...
....AND, of course I discovered the answer to "why do this when we have frozen"...
THESE bad boys taste a LOT better, being cooked, fresh, in a WAFFLE IRON,
than the frozen ones, dropped into a TOASTER.
Cheaper, probably...altho I don't know that for sure. I have NOT done any price comparisons....
that's NOT MY FIELD. lol
that's NOT MY FIELD. lol
Just look how pretty those waffles are....♪♪♫
do they LOOK like a biscuit to you ? The cuteness was done in PhotoScape.

Oh boy, BJ, I am going to try these. I make home made waffles once in a blue moon. This is a whole lot easier! Great great photos. xo
Wow! Who knew?!?!!
Now, THAT is the greatest idea I've seen in a long time! And the addition of blueberry anything pushed me over the top! Holiday breakfast, here I come!
Thank you!
BJ, You are so funny! Blows your skirt up?!?!? That cracked me up! Now that is a great idea. But I don't think I have a waffle thingie. I have to look in my cupboard. Obviously if I have one I have not used it in a long time and therefore have forgotten if I have one! LOL!

Those look so good! What a great idea! Thanks for sharing...I'm hungry just looking at these photos!
Am I going to need a waffle iron if I keep visiting you? That would be a yes. Oh my! Looks fantastic.
Well - - - who'd a thunk it!?!
Great idea! Will this work with Pillsbury's do you think? That's the only brand we get up here.

How much do Grands cost there?
How neat! They really do look fantastic! I pick blueberry too :)
Wowzers!! Who knew, is right!! What a clever idea and I'm sure they are scrumptious! (You are too funny BJ!)
Hope you are having a great Sunday!

Ooh! I can't wait to try these! Hubby has a waffle maker {yes, it's HIS!} and he will never believe we can do this!! Yes sir, I'll show him!!
XO,
Jane
I love it when you say, "Makes my skirt fly up!". LOL! I have been debating whether to get a waffle iron or not. Now I know what I will be asking Santa for Christmas this year.;-)
That plate filled with waffles, bacon, and eggs sounds heavenly. You cooked that bacon just the way I like it- nice and crisp. The photo of the waffles with blueberries is beautiful. Now I've made myself hungry talking about your delicious looking breakfast. --------Shannon
I didn't know you could make waffles from Grands either. I will be giving this a try soon.
Have a fabulous week! La
Now I've never heard of cooking waffles out of canned biscuits. This is a first! I have a waffle iron that I use just a few times a year only because it's a hassle to get out and make the mix etc. So, we usually reserve it for special occasions, like Christmas and Father's Day etc. I'm glad you said it didn't taste like a biscuit, because that's the first thing that went through my mind when I saw it. Ha! May have to give it a try some day. I don't like frozen waffles at all!
Wow! What an awesome idea!!! Will have to try these! My daughter was telling me, that there is a way to use cake mix to make "cake waffles," too. We may try them this coming weekend. Imagine they will be some kind of awesome, hot off the iron, with ice cream!
I'll let you know how they do! :)
How fun and easy, I never would have thought to do this easy. Suddenly, I'm hungry!
Well knock me over with a feather!!!!! Who would have guessed!!!! I am going to try these for SURE!!!! Thanks, BJ! XO, Pinky
Well, I had no idea. Looks fantastic and I really like the idea. They really do sound goo. Hugs, Marty
Holy cow I'll be trying this for sure. Thanks for sharing looks yummy.
Well, whoda thunk it? What a great idea and no batter mess! I'm sure they are a bit heavier, as you said, but still delicious! I will be trying these out on the grands....get it...GRANDS...grands? Never mind?
Did you say it blew your skirt up? If you were blond, a few years younger and standing over a grate you could make a fortune with a picture of that- just a thought! xo Diana
The things you learn while blogging! I will definetly be trying this!
Amazing!!! I am SO going to try this!!!!
WOW! I never heard of such a thing. That is really neat. I myself am more of a pancake girl but my family loves waffles.
I love learning new things, and I especially love learning delicious new things!! Thanks BJ!
Great idea! I pinned it! http://pinterest.com/carolannbychanc/
I would never, have thought to do this either. I know my hubs would like these this is the biscuit he likes. I wonder if he would ever know what he was eating. I think I'm going to fine out thanks bj. Trish
WOW, I am always looking for easy and GOOD!!!, I think this will work.
Cathy's Cupboard Calamity
This is brilliant...I must try it.
What an interesting idea! I'm impressed & will certainly give them a try next time MY Grands visit.
Thanks for sharing how,
Rett
Never heard of such a thing?? I will remember to try it - looks delish!
What a great idea bj. I'll have to try this too. I love the Maple syrup and the mister here loves blueberry syrup.
This would be fun to do when Connor comes to spend the weekend with his me. Thanks for the tip......

The French Hutch
Wow, BJ!!! Who knew????!!!!! Biscuits and waffles ... I'll stand in line to try them. Love the blueberries ... made my tummy growl! Happy Monday!
You learn something new every day. This is just great. I love how you displayed this tasty breakfast. Have a blessed day. Madeline
Leave it to you to come up with this great idea. I like pancakes better than waffles. They get cold too quick. I like the way that bacon looks too. I really enjoy a well done, crispy slice.
What a wonderful idea! Can't wait to try them with my heart shaped waffle iron.
Ever hear of making "stuffed (like with cheese) bread" from canned pizza dough? My d-i-law does this. I have to get the recipe. :-)

Wow! I am so glad I found you today. Too bad you live in Texas, and I live in the damp cold woods of Southern New Jersey, where we're known for bugs the size of '57 Chevy's and some parts of these woods are rumored to be where the Philly and NYC mob dumps bodies. My 5 and 4 year old boys dig every so often in the backyard for the bodies. (Wonderful, right?) If I did live near you, I'd stop by for a cup of coffee and a waffle or two or three...you remind me of my beloved mother, who is about your age and is an original Iowa Farm Girl. Thank you for your blog!
Wow really biscuits?! I may have to try that quick fix out next weekend.
Thanks for the idea
Amazing! Thanks for sharing these delicious blues.
Happy Blue Monday, BJ.
I would give anything to go and have breakfast at your place. You sure know how to break that fast. Thank you for sharing that tip;great! Hope your week is starting out with a smile.
Rita
I love those Grands Flaky Biscuits when they are cooked regular style, so I'm sure they taste equally good cooked this way, bj!
Happy Blue Monday!
Oh Bj, you are so cute! (blows your skirt up lol) These look great! You know, I saw this someplace too, and I can't remember where either!! They do look yummy!
Hugs,
Debbie
That is an amazing idea! Every time you post a waffle recipe I kick myself for getting rid of the waffle iron because I didn't think I used it enough for it to take up space. I'm giving myself quite a bruise. maybe I should keep my eyes open at Salvation Army for a back up!
Haven't read all the comments, but I, too, love this idea. I've made French Toast on my waffle iron...it's darn tasty. I think I'll try this with the smaller, regular size Flaky biscuits.
On the blueberry note, you can separate the layers of the Pillsbury Flaky Layers biscuits...at the lovely shortening points ;-) How about dropping a few blueberries in between the layers, and THEN waffling them? That sounds good, too, albeit a bit messy. (Wet paper towel on the still-warm iron after you're done.) Have you seen willitwaffle.com? Fun stuff.
First of all...I need to go buy myself a waffle iron!!! I'm putting it on my Christmas list! Who would have thought that you can use those canned biscuits to make waffles...I definitely have to give them a try. I so love the way you take pictures, I always drool over each one! lol xoxo
For the love of the English Language (and all others slaughtered now....) - it is not "Walla." The proper term is "Voilá." Defined as, "Used to call attention to or express satisfaction with a thing shown or accomplished." It is of French origin. Please, please, please - spell/utilize words correctly??
I would never have thought of this. We got a waffle iron as a wedding gift (a million years ago) and after trying it a couple of times and having the waffles stick...I got rid of it. We only have waffles when we eat out these days!
pop some ice cream in between those warm waffles and oh my oh my! yeah that good!
I'm new to your blog! found it today! I am very interested to try this out.
Hi BJ! I just found your blog through a photo I saw in Pinterest! I love this idea of a quick & easy waffle! Thanks so much for sharing this with us! I love your blog and your sense of humor! I am happy to be your newest follower and if you get a sweet tooth, pop over to my blog because I'm all about sweets! xo Jina

GREAT idea! Found you on Pinterest :D I also saw a pin for cinnamon roll waffles, using the canned rolls. I'm going to try both very soon!!!
Yum! Would you be able to deliver these to my office?♥ Ha!
I think I'm going to have to give it a try. And as long as I have the waffle iron out I may try another idea I saw on pinterest...cookie dough.
Seriously.
Came across this in Pinterest. LOVE IT! I just made it this morning with Flaky Cinnamon Rolls by Pillsbury. YUMMO! Thanks for posting this. :)
This is amazing! Thank you. I wonder how it would turn out if you put some frozen fruit on top of the biscuit...?

You need to try this...another use for those biscuits....so Yummy!!!
can this be done with a panini machine instead????
I gotta try that!
Tried this for the first time and my kids (and hubby) loved it!!! Super easy :)
I just made these. I didn't have grands so just used a can of cheap biscuits. Worked great! Also the size was perfect for small children. I liked the fact that the cleanup was minimal. That's why I don't break out the waffle maker cause of the clean up.
Just saw these on Pinterest and will definitely try them!!
You can put canned cinnAmon rolls in the waffle iron too!!!! They are great
We cooked some Grands today. I must say, they were good! As you said...
This is a marvelous idea! I am a new follower as I justfound your blog. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful idea - I will try it this weekend!
Hi BJ, this is so a great idea! Thanks for sharing... xoxo Heike

P.S. the way you write just cracks me up "Blow my skirt up" I love it!
Great idea for the kids in the morning before school. Thanks Ms. BJ
