Quite dinner in the library

"dinner in the library" sounds so ritzy...I LOVE saying it...:>)
One of our favorite spots in our Sweet Nothings
is the library...which is aka the other end of the living room...:))
Mr. Sweet made the checked table to sit in front of our wall of THRIFTED book shelves and
we have full view of our big screen tv...SOOO, you can see WHY this is our favorite place
to have a nice dinner...
For THIS dinner, I just added a few candles...
some ceramic PUMPKINS...
and THRIFTED dinnerware
The thrifted wall of shelves is still one of my FAVORITE thrifted things for our home.

I love that the sunflower plates are such FALL colors.
 ...little iron birds...holding tea lights
...little ceramic pumpkins EVERYwhere...

Still loving the flatware from HORCHOW..

all mismatched and add so much personality to my table.
This larger pumpkin came from WALGREEN a couple or three years ago.
 ...books in AUTUMN colors
...table covering...burlap and....I LUV IT.
....seems I am partial to the white/off-white burlap
 .....isn't candlelight just magical...
it can transform even paper plates or McDonald's burgers
into a beautiful affair.

...love that the sunflower plates look good with the fallish chargers.
Mr. Sweet grills a mean steak and veggies on that grill of his...

BJ, your husband must enjoy his meals with you so much. I can't imagine having such beautiful tablescapes, candles, and TV, too. Very, very pleasant. I can feel my blood pressure dropping.

Just lovely, my Dear!!!

And I love how you have such fun, with your surroundings. :-)

Gentle hugs,
"November comes
And November goes,
With the last red berries
And the first white snows.

With night coming early,
And dawn coming late,
And ice in the bucket
And frost by the gate.

The fires burn
And the kettles sing,
And earth sinks to rest
Until next spring."

I love seeing your library again. I remember that one of the first blog posts I saw of yours had your Reader's Digest condensed books in it. I thought, well, at least someone else loves all of those pretty book papers in them besides me. Sally

What a petty little dining spot, steak by candle light on such a pretty table would be a romantic treat:>)

Bj- What a great, romantic spot to dine (you notice I said DINE rather than EAT?-I thought it was a grander term!

I do love those plates and how fun that you are getting some use out of them for the Fall season.

Dinner looks mighty good to me! MyHero can't grill...is that sad, or what? Well, unless you count burning your BBQ tools inside the grill up when you turn it on- NO JOKE! That's okay- He's good at lots of other things! xo Diana

Hi BJness! I love this space in your home! The bookshelves look great! Mr. Sweet is so good - love your table he made! Your table setting is just perfect with your sunflower dishes. Your post reminded me of something. When we lived in New Mexico the olden library had become a restaurant. The bookshelves were there with olden books and the menu was in a book! The menu part was in the middle of the book and was a little longer than the book pages so you could go right to it! I'll never forget it! I'll bet the food wasn't as good as yours always is! ;)
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

You're right! It does sound rather ritzy!
soooo..bj..are you "puttin' on the ritz??" :):)

Good for you for taking your meal to a different venue, and a library is a great choice. Of course, if I were there I'd probably have my nose in a book as it would be impossible to resist all those titles.
