Nite Nite

I had the LONGEST, HARDEST day yesterday..
and by bedtime...I was sooo ready for a little UNWINDING
before going off to LaLa Land...
I first had a nice long soaking hot bath...
and then I made a cup of SWEET DREAMS tea..
sooo good and sooo relaxing.
...my favorite little cup...it puts me in the most loving and soft mood..her little smile, so sweet,
with her little band of PINK.

I pretty much have to have a BEDTIME SNACK and I
LUV cinnamon toast with my tea....
(when my girl was little, she called it a BED SNACK..and we still call it that. )
...it can't be beat.
Plenty of butter on your bread...
sprinkle as much sugar as you would like...
dust heavily  with CINNAMON
do YOU add anything else to it...? I don't wanna be missing out...
I've eaten cinnamon toast all my life....and that's a loooong time.
Mother always made my brother and I a plain, buttered piece of toast..
and one cinnamon toast every morning before school..
Sometmes, we had cereal to go with it....sometimes not...
the two slices of toast usually filled us up.  ♥♥♥
Let me blow out the candle..
snuggle into my soft, comfy bed, have my snack while I watch the olden
reruns of SEINFELD...
and...then....it..........off.........to ....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Hi BJ - I'm with you on this bed snack. I love chamomile tea and my favorite on toast is brown sugar and cinnamon. I've loved it since I, too, was a kid. My grandmother would make toast on the old wood-stove for me when I visited and then sprinkle cinnamon & sugar on it. She always made me tea from the time I was 7. No wonder I love it. Great post. Now guess what I'm gonna have tonight. :) Hugs, Deb=^..^=x4

Well if that won't give you sweet dreams or as my daughter used to say "sweet sleeps"....nothing will!

I love cinnamon toast. It does remind me of being a kid when I eat it though. The best thing about cinnamon toast is how great it makes the house smell while it's cooking. Yours looks delicious.

I love Pepperidge Farm Cinnamon Swirl bread. So good! Makes great French toast. xo

♥Sweet dreams♥

Some people do that very fussy thing with cinnamon toast...fluffing the butter and adding the sugar and spice to it and slathering it on the toast and then broiling it. I like mine the plain less labor intensive way.

I was raised always having a bedtime snack and even though I should do without it now I.ABSOLUTELY.CANNOT.
My little snack varies but often it is a piece of toast with peanut butter on it. Cinnamon Toast would make for a nice change. Thanks for the idea!

Cinnamon toast is one of the ultimate comfort foods--or--a daily lunch for my three-year-old!

I love cinnamon toast. We used to have it all the time. My mom used to butter the toast before adding the cinnamon sugar. We used to eat "poor man waffles" in the morning. Toast with butter and syrup on them. Yum!

BJ,
I've had one of those days today, too! Time for a cup of tea then off to bed! Oddly enough...I was just thinking of making "Mr. Ed" some cinnamon flour tortillas. Saw this on Food Network this week. Like the pie crust ends my MoMa used to make when I was a child...only when it comes out of the oven it gets drizzled in chocolate syrup! Oh yeah! Sweet dreams, dear friend @ Sweet Nothings!
Fondly,
Pat

I love cinnamon toast and I'll have to look for some of that tea. I usually use celestial seasonings.
Now all I need is a sweet cup and I'm set..

I'm just trying to catch up after a few days of no internet....a tough job, but I'm up to it!
My mum always had a shaker full of cinnamon and sugar on the counter, just for our toast.

the hot tea i could definitely see before night time, but the sugary toast would get me hopped up! :) i guess you've built up an immunity to it! :)

What a sweet post & the reminder of wonderful cinnamon toast. I do make it for my grandkids & here's how they like it...I let them choose which cookie cutter to use for their toast. It makes it a little more fun for them & I get to use all my cookie cutters!! I love your special mug...so adorable!!!

Momma always had cinnamon toast with her coffee when we were kids. I'd much rather have that than most anything else :)

Happy Pink Saturday BJ Sweetie...
What a gorgeous share today. I love this little cup of love that you have. Her little heart lips are so precious and I too love that little pink band around the top edge.

Cinnamon toast? Oh my gosh, it is one of my favorites. We too, grew up on that. It was such a treat to have to eat as well. I still today love it. I can eat at least 2 slices myself. In fact I think you have made me want some tonight before bed myself.

I haven't tried that sweet dreams tea. Does it really work for you? I know there are some nights that I need a little help getting my brain to shut off and allow me a few winks.

A beautiful post sweet friend as always, a treasure to behold.

Country hugs and much love, Sherry

Hi BJ, I'm a new follower and part of Pink Saturday. I haven't participated in PS for quite awhile because of many things going on in our life, but I decided I needed to get back to blog land. I just loved your post because it brought so many wonderful memories back of my childhood and Mom making me cinnamon toast. Oh how, I'd forgotten. Thanks for the share.
