I Love A Good Halloween Party

AND....we've ALL been invited to a really good one.....

A really BIG PARTY is going on over at A FANCIFUL TWIST....
and I have got my PARTY BRITCHES on and....
I hope YOU do, too.

Please stop by and see all the FUN....
BOOooo.........

 ~ HOW TO MEET A WITCH ~

First, put your clothes on inside out.
Then walk backward to where two roads meet.
If you wait until midnight, you will see a witch!
 SWEET NOTHINGS is throwing a
HALLOWEEN COOKIES AND COFFEE PARTY  ♫♪♪
for all my friends....
THE Witchie Poo lost one of her shoes..
..and a FANCY shoe, at that.
THE STAR of the SHOW is my WITCHES HAT..
because, alas, I have NO BAT....
 ORANGE CREME FILLED OREOS...
HOW cool is THAT....
OREO seems to be catering to all kinds of HOLIDAYS. Gotta LOVE it..

~ FIVE LITTLE PUMPKINS SITTING ON A GATE ~

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate,
The first one said,
"Oh my, it's getting late."
The second one said,
"But we don't care."
The third one said,
"I see witches in the air."
The fourth one said,
"Let's run, and run, and run."
The fifth one said,
"Get ready for some fun."
Then whoosh went the wind,
and out went the lights,
And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight!
♥♥
I have used PAPER Halloween plates for years...they have some of the cutest ones.
I say
NOTHING WRONG WITH PAPER !
"heh heh heh....come have coffee and poison orange filled cookies......
"Witchie Poo, here is your shoe,
You see it is on fire....
If you don't come and get it soon,
Another witch we'll hire....." ♥
(makes not a lick of sense but...it rhymes.)
~ THREE BLACK CATS ~
Three black cats, three black cats,
In black hats, in black hats.
They all jumped into the Halloween brew,
They teased the ghosts and the goblins too.
Did you ever hear such a hullabaloo
On Halloween?
~Some people believe that cat bones make you invisible.~   ♥
~If a candle flame turns blue,
it means a ghost is in the house.~
BOOooooooooooo
Did you dress up for Halloween when you were young?
I did...and had so much fun. Gosh, we never, EVER, thought about it being a Devil Holiday....posh....the thought never crossed our minds. All we knew is that you could dress up in whatever you wanted to...I was always a pretty gypsy woman... My mama and my Aunt Lillian LOVED to dress me up...of all the jewelry, makeup...a long skirt and a peasant blouse..a colorful scarf around my hair and big golden earrings.
Just the memory of all this makes my heart beat faster, even today. How I wish I could have just ONE MORE HALLOWEEN like that...with Mom and Aunt Lillian right there, giggling, making coffee, popping corn, making Popcorn balls for the TRICK OR TREATERS.
"Let's brew up some trouble"  ♥
This is the absolute ONLY time of the year that I like the color........ ORANGE.....
I have a grandgirl that LOVES it, tho.....so I TRY to like it, too...
MYSTICAL, MAGICAL TIME OF THE YEAR.......♪♫♫
Thanks for coming by for coffee and ♥ cookies...
♥♥♥
THESE  ORANGE cookies, unlike the delicious PINKS I had last week,
DO NOT have an ORANGE flavor...wonder WHY ?....♥they are just SWEET.
I had a blast putting this COFFEE together...
all the Halloween decorations are new and they all came from BIG LOTS at 40% off...
HAVE A HAPPY HAPPY DAY ♥ bj

Wow! You really are ready for Halloween. I love all your things...especially the witches shoes, so cute.

I dressed up as a gypsy sometimes, too! My mother did, too! We dressed up in things that were easy to make costumes...like a hobo or cowgirl! Enjoy the party! ♥

I dressed as a gypsy many times. It was all we had...or a sheet. I only had one bought costume...that was like an Arabian queen...halloween was so much fun then. No fears of creepy people doing stupid things. Got a pillowcase and got it filled with big candy bars and bags of chips...and it was cold in Michigan...so some even had hot chocolate. Wouldn't find that today....have fun at your party....!!

I, too, dressed up as a gypsy. It was always my favorite costume!! I may dress up as one this year, too, just for old times sake!!!! I loved your Halloween party. Those colored- filling oreos sure are good!

I was a gypsy (Mom's old clothes and jewelry) or a ghost (old white sheet) and always at the last minute. No one bought a costume! And we didn't even think of it until the sun started setting.

Sweet memories. And I'd love to come to your party!! Even though we're both in Texas, Texas is a very big state...

What fun!
I was a gypsy girl quite often at Hallowe'en. I think it had something to do with the hoop earrings and the chance to wear lots of lipstick!
For years we hosted a costume party at Hallowe'en - maybe it's time again!

Your party is so much fun. I love that shoes. I have a pumpkin costume tat I made ages ago. Actually when I was pregnant with my youngest. He is now 42 years old. He was born Nov. 4th so I made a great pumpkin back then. HA!

Love the poems and your fun party post. Of course, it wouldn't be your post if we didn't have goodies to drool over.

Oh, BJ, what an absolutely delightful Halloween party:-) I've been having so much fun waiting for the witch to arrive and get her shoe! hehe And those orange filled Oreo cookies, how delicious they are. I'm just loving all of your decor, beautiful! I use to get dressed up as a gypsy as well when I'd go out trick or treating and as you say, so many wonderful memories of Halloweens gone by. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go get myself another cookie! hehe xoxo

What a sweet post. Yes, I loved Halloween as a kid and never thought it evil either.

Sadly, Hubby is totally against opening our doors that night and passing out candy. We live in a neighborhood where people drive their kids to us, that don't live near us, to take their kids trick or treating. Hundreds of kids trick or treat, trampling bushes and yard. The year hubby cleaned up booze bottle the next day and he was frustrated by the damage to our yard was when he said enough. I do make candy bags for the neighbor kids when I have time. I miss the sweet faces of the littlest ones.:(

Ooooooooooooooooooooow, Halloween Parties! Love 'em!

I must dust off my broom and fly right over. -giggles-

The russet woods stood ripe to be stripped, but were yet full of leaf.
The purple of heath-bloom, faded but not withered, tinged the hills...
Fieldhead gardens bore the seal of gentle decay; ... its time of
flowers and even of fruit was over."

What a fun party you put together!I dressed up as a gypsy once-with a long black wig. It DID NOT become me at all!Ceekay is right Halloween was much more fun before the world got so bad.We have very few trick or treaters as our town has a huge trick or treat in the park and one of the churches does the same-they are really trying to do away with street trick or treaters and I guess it is safer.

What a fun Halloween gathering! Love all your decorations. That's funny that you dressed up as a gypsy. I think I was a gypsy almost every Halloween!! My gold earrings were canning rings. No wonder, I do so much canning this time of year!

I almost bought the orange filled Oreos today. I had my hand on the package and decided not to because I need to lose 10 pounds by my daughter's wedding in 3 weeks. So instead, I came home and made cookies and ate them! Honestly!

BJ you crack me up! As a Catholic child we celebrated All Saints Day (Nov 1st) but by goodness at night on Halloween our parents took us out just the same only we got to dress up like characters! As an adult I was once a clown so perfectly made up that I went to my job and no one knew me until I was forced to sit at my desk! I was also once Kermit the Frog to my friends Miss Piggy! I was super thin and very green! Ha Ha! Another friend was Raggedy Andy to my Anne! Aw...she was so sweet! I loved being a gypsy as a kid! It was almost romantic and the long skirt and the big hoop earrings! Oh La La! SO grown up! The fond memories you gave me brought a few tears too! My auntie Ang use to whip up some amazing costumes. She made me have so much fun and my folks were always great with the holidays. I miss all of them so much! Love and Hugs Anne

Hmmm, I'm going to have to try that tip about how to meet a witch one day soon. Dressing up is the most fun part of Halloween. I didn't stop with the fun. In college, my best friend and I would choose silly costumes and go out dancing. As a teacher I get to wear costumes and be part of Halloween parades. I really need to dress up as a gypsy one of these years. Or a fortune teller.

Lots of glitter! I love it! I just wish the glitter didn't leave traces everywhere otherwise I would have ton of glittery decorations. I just bought a wreath at a yard sale and I some how ended up with glitter in my living room even though the wreath never ventured that far! Lovely decorations!

So much merriment here! Loved the coffee...and since you insisted...I took some cookies, too :D

Memories of all the costumes I wore as a kid...and the excitement of pretending to be someone else for a night are some of my fondest, too!

Thanks for having me :)

PS: I plan on storing it in my master bedroom closet with the rest of our holiday stuff. I just used a rubber band to hold the branches, so I should be able to take the tree apart and store it in pieces.
