I finally found IT...

Some of you might remember my vintage display rack that I used
as a BAKERS RACK for about 7 years now.
I enjoyed it...I had fun with it....I changed it up constantly...
but I have ALWAYS wanted a REAL piece of furniture in this corner of my dining room.
You might say I was ready for a GROWN UP HUTCH.

But...I needed a SMALL one...one that would fit nicely in that little corner between the
wall and the mantel...it MUST set catty-corner in that one little space.
I have been looking for it for a LONG time..
and.....guess what !!
IT FITS PERFECTLY....♫♪♪
It is from the 60's....and I am SO IN LOVE...
VINTAGE LOVE

I will paint it sooner or later...MAYBE...
Right now, I just want to use it for awhile to see what color she would LIKE to be.

I love the little cottage looking glass doors.

Right now, I don't even have very much inside of it...believe me, before I can turn around twice, it will be TOO full....
I hope not...I'll guard against that.
I found it at the SALVATION ARMY store..
I said, "How much?"
She said, "$50.00"
I said
"SHUT THE FRONT DOOR.......
I'll take it !!"
Getting something "new" for your cottage is SO good for the soul ♥♥♥

UPDATE....I just sold my display rack thru CRAIGS LIST for $50...
so it paid for my hutch.
YIPPY KI YI YAY....!!
Joining with
TABLETOP TUESDAY (is it ok to have a hutch top in the party?)
THANKS, LADIES, FOR HOSTING

Great find! It looks wondeful! I like how you have it filled too. I could see it a creamy white or a bright blue. I wouldn't paint the inside though. I think the light colored dishes against the dark is pretty.

Hooray! So happy you found it and made n even exchange. Why paint it? Does it not go with what you have in there?

Oh my goodness! You did great for $50! I'm so jealous...lol. It's very pretty. I love it the color it is now but it's always nice to know you can change the whole look with just a little paint.

Congrats, BJ!! I would love to know where did you find the dish display? You have white dinner plates in it - or did Mr. Sweet make it? xo

Ooooh, what a wonderful find and only $50, what a deal!! It looks gorgeous sitting there and fits right in, doesn't it. You will so enjoy having a hutch and think of how you can decorate it for Christmas! hehe I needed a small one as well, as my kitchen isn't very big and got it for $80 at the auction a couple of years ago. I display all my vintage depression glass dishes in it:-) I'm just so happy for you BJ!!! xoxo

That is such a sweet little cabinet - looks very trim and well-made and quite unlike anything we'd find new in the stores. I love it!

bj! Dang, but it's nice to wake up to you in my email! Honest! My coffee is almost done brewing and I am treated to a sight for sore eyes. That little hutch is PERFECTION! I love it just as it is. Talk about Cottage PERFECT!!!
Um..why isn't that little slipper chair cover in something with red..red check? :) I would love a slipper chair!
You certainly got a deal! I have a little fifties maple one...and I think I am going to hold up a wee on the painting. Gotta feeling things are going to go back to those beautiful stains just like what you have. But...but.. whatever you do...it's going to be just adorable! NO doubt about it!

She is sooooo cute!!! I am happy for you!!

Came back for a second look. bj, my vote, not that you asked, but my vote would be to leave that little hutch exactly as it is. The finish is lovely from what I can see. I know my vote is not popular and you probably will paint it..but...sure wish you wouldn't.
Lots of time to decide. Enjoy!

It's beautiful!!
I am still having fun just dreaming about things I want to add to my near-empty house... When my sister and I were little, one of our favorite things to do was look through catalogs and mark all the things we wanted... we never expected to get those things, we just liked the dreaming part of it... and now, the Internet is my endless catalog! :)

Sue said...

Wow! How lucky to sell yours for the same price and get what you want at the same time! I love how you said you are letting "her" decided what color to be. I can't wait to see what "she" decides! I'm so happy for you:)

Adrienne said...

I love it! It was meant for you - just waiting there for you to find it. It looks wonderful in your room. Can't wait to see all the things you do with it - the holidays should give you lots of reason to display away to your heart's content!
