The only ITALIAN food I know how to make.....errr....prepare,
is PIZZA...(and have NEVER made my own...buy 'em from the pizza makers..)
I just never learned to make many pasta dishes at all.
but I found these 4 really cute bowls at the ♫♪♪ thrift store (4 for $2)
and wanted to cook SOMEthing that would look cute in them....
just for YOU...
OOO, the things I do to please you..... ♥
At first, I thought these were little yellow BANANAS on this bowl.. ♥
I am assuming it might be some kind of pasta, tho...?
I have never seen anything like them before....
I have never seen anything like them before....
I didn't have spaghetti.....that would have looked fabulous in the bowl...
and since I ALWAYS have noodles, this is what you get... :)
a shame, I know, but, I didn't have any type of the red sauce, either. *sighing heavily...
These noodles just have BUTTAH...salt and pepper..."...do you hear me, Paula Deen....BUTTAH !!I guess, because my mother didn't cook Italian...very seldom did we even have spaghetti ....I just never learned to cook it, either.
O, and we LOVE a lot of Italian foods but when we get hungry for it, we "go out to eat".....we have some fabulous Italian restaurants here in town.
Each little bowl has a different pasta featured....
OOO, I see one that I DO know...on the right...BOW TIES...right ?
Now THIS is one of my favorite breads in the whole wide entire world...
I buy it at WALMART...(they DO have good breads)...
and we love this toasted, for sandwiches...so so good.
haaahaha....while I am CERTAIN there's some awesome Italian desserts,
we do love the ITALIAN ICE....
Thanks a million for stopping by and...
if you have any great (but easy) ITALIAN recipes that I can serve in my cutie bowls,
would you kindly share ? ♥ xoxoxo bj

YUM...and I love pasta dishes, it just seems to make the food more homey and delicious! Happy Halloween bj1 ;D
Love the cute new dishes....you always find the best deals! And I think your pasta looks delicious with just buttah, salt and pepper!
Knock! Knock! I am at your front door, let me in!! I am known to make noodles, BUTTAH, salt & pepper many times a month to eat. That is plenty for me, as long as I have my noodles.
Love Italian & can cook it a wee bit.
Rotini is the noodles you thought was a banana. Love your dishes, great bargain.
BOO-T-ful Halloween wishes.
TTFN ~
Hugs,
Marydon
You are so funny. So sweet of you to fill the cute bowls just for us. I have and Italian dil so I better fix some Italian dishes, but not many. When I do a lot of it is prepackaged and not from scratch.
BJ, I wish you lived close by because I would fix you an authentic Italian meal. Growing up our housekeeper was from Naples and boy could she cook. Italian food in restaurants cannot come close to her dishes. She taught me how to cook and I taught her English. Love your new dishes.
Hugs,
Sherry
Your pasta bowls are great BJ! I love that you made pasta just for us!
Oh those dishes are wonderful! My mom always put butter on with pepper. Hope you enjoyed the noodles.
I love your new dishes..what a great deal!! I cook a lot of Italian dishes...I find them to be pretty easy. A cookbook author I would recommend is Marcella Hazen. She is like the Julia Child of Italy. It is very easy to follow along with her recipes and they turn out like a gourmet meal!!
XO,
Jane
I think Italian is the easiest thing to cook. We, though Irish, have pasta meals several times a week. There is simply no restaurant that can compare to a homemade Italian dish. I love the dishes and know anything will taste good in them.
Bj, please email me your snail mail address. I have something I want to send you.

they're very cute pasta dishes. i love italian food, but besides spaghetti, don't cook it. :)
I LIVE off of Italian food. Spaghetti is ALWAYS an easy dish to make! Along with Baked Ziti, alfedo, ziti with roasted vegetables, lasagna, etc, etc. Good luck!
BJ, I think your pasta with all the Buttah sounds just wonderful! Especially when served in your darling bowls. Great find!!!!
Yvonne
BJ great looking meal! Don't you just love getting thrifty Pottery Barn stuff! I know I do!
I love those bowls! Wonderful for pasta or soup or salad. Me, I love buttered noodles! YUM!bb
Love love Italian. I'm like you I go out to eat it. Like the song, he was talented. Trish
So jealous you found those beautiful bowls...don't you just love great deals...sure wish I lived by you...I have also found some cute bowls but not as cute as those...Now I need some pasta....lol
Okay, I'm loving those little pasta dishes! They are just wonderful! I have to tell you, I love plain pasta with lots of buttah, a dash of salt and a tiny bit of peppa! Yummy!
Too funny BJ! You did a good job on your pasta... anythings' good with buttah, salt & pepper! My hubby can make red pasta sauce from scratch that is fabulous... I can open a jar of store bought sauce. Just go to the aisle that says spaghetti or pasta or Italian and you'll find an assortment there LOL I'm just funnin' ya'!
The bowls are adorable, I can see why you bought them. and your jewelry adorned bust from your prev post is FABULOUS! You outdid yourself on that one. Great price - great look! You go girl...
Big hugs, Sherry
Love those bowls and the pasta looks good to me. Many nights I fix pasta with just half butter/half olive oil- and roasted garlic- salt n pepper and toss. maybe a bit of shaved parm on top.. that's fine dining to me:)

I finally got the post up, and went ahead and linked you!
Thanks so much for participating!
Like you I really don't remember seeing my mom make ever any pasta dishes; I do remember the firt meal I made for my then boyfriend some 50 +years ago was Spaghetti. I found a recipe somwhere and managed to create this exotic(in those days)meal. I won his heart.
I would have bought those pasta dishes too; they aare so cure.
Please share your pasta recipe;looks so good.
Rita
Went back to look...really just butter, salt and pepper; one of my boys ate his spaghetti that way; never sauce until he met his future wife; an Italian girl; after that he changed his ways.
Rita
Oh, that is a great find BJ. Can't beat those prices on Pottery Barn. All your Italian food looks good!
Sherry
Oh bj, I do love the pasta bowls. They are looking good with the buttered pasta. Paula Deen would be proud. My recipe for meatballs and pasta is easy.
Frozen meatballs
One jar of red sauce...your choice.
Pasta of your choice
Directions...Meatballs dumped in a pan with the pasta sauce. Cook low until hot. Cook your pasta and wallah!!! An Italian pasta dish. Delicious with some of that Walmart bread!!! Can't get any easier than that.
I love your dishes, your post and you too my dear sister friend.
XO Jeanne
Cute dishes! I make too many pasta dishes, lol...
Have a great week!
Do they sell all their plates at 4 for $2? That's incredible. You're going to have to get some more storage, BJ!
(We loved Italian food growing up. My mother had been introduced to it while my father was in the service. I remember my grandmother saying that no self-respecting person should have to eat "that stuff." Ha! Then I married into an Italian family. Oh boy howdy!)
BJ -- those dishes are incredible -- and this low carbing Mommma is drooling over your buttered pasta! Oh, and the bread too :)
Blessings!
Gail
Hi bj..
I have wanted some pasta bowls for a LONG time..and I think you have inspired me to finally get some.
I adore pasta dishes. Mine is a bit different. I use "buttah!" Lots of it..but instead of salt, I used GARLIC salt with parsley flakes, fresh ground pepper and add a bit of fresh grated Parmisan cheese on top (sometimes.) I usually have a brick of it in the fridge..LOVE that stuff.
Mine is just as simple..but perhaps a wee more italian.
Try it, you'll like it! :)
Love and hugs..
Mona
P.s. Now I am off to track down those spotty dishes from the link you gave us... lol
LOL...Italian is one of the easiest foods to cook!
Cute pasta bowls.
I come from an italian family and LOVE to make italian foods. Growing up every Christmas Eve we would get together and have a huge italian feast. I miss it though.
Your new dishes are adorable...and now I've got a craving for some pasta!
Lasagne is one of my husband's favorite foods, so when I want to work at it...I make that. We have spaghetti sometimes, but my favorite is plain angel hair pasta with olive oil, fresh basil, fresh tomatoes and parm. cheese. Yummy! Your dishes are darling and such a deal!
Cute dishes. My daughter's roommate in college offered to cook spaghetti..daughter said great.. until served. LOL The sauce was catsup. Not exactly what my daughter was expecting. My daughter passed on dinner that night. LOL
