FALLISH THINGS...

the FIRST football game
sure makes it SEEM like FALL..
"WE'RE KIND OF A BIG DEAL"
Well, we were a shade late to the game and had
to SIT ON THE WRONG SIDE..
this orange and black...NOT OUR TEAM/CHEER LEADERS..
THAT'S our team....green and white
and those little tiny stands over there is where we SHOULD have sat but...
NO ROOM
Proud mama...
Isn't she pretty, ya'll ...
she's my baby girl.
THE beauty...there, front row, on your left...
our BRYNNA
She plays the xylophone ..and the wind stick..
first year in band.
GO ROPES EAGLES...
"HI, BRYNNA....we you....sooooooo much !
PROUD MAMA STACY
with BROOKS and DEEDS...
We love ya'll sooo much.

Little DEEDS used to ask me all the time,
"MEMAW....will I EVER be as big as BRYNNA?"
 and I would say...
"Oh, yes, sweetie girl, you WILL be as big as Brynna
very soon."
...and someday, you will be TICKLED to pieces that YOU
are 4 years younger than your big sis...
:>)

FALL  seems to be a really good time for
COBBLERS, too..
Just LOOK at all this BUTTAH...
PAULA........i say....PAULA DEEN....do u see all this buttah...??

You pour the
peach/sugar/lemon juice mixture
over the cobbler batter
and bake it for about 40 minutes or
until it's nice and brown...
If you are hungry for a really
GOOD and EASY PEACH COBBLER, click HERE for the luscious recipe.
YEP...
FOOTBALL +  PEACH COBBLER.= FALL
(where's the ICE CREAM?)
OOO....
and, YES...
THEY WON !!
WOO HOO, EAGLES
 OH...one more thing...

If you haven't read the BOOK
or seen the MOVIE... PLEASE DO !
I just loved every single minute of it...

I remember those days (when I was out there on the field). Ha! My oldest son is a senior and didn't choose to play sports or join the band. He's too busy working and dating I guess. I think it's such a wonderful experience though and hate that he's missing out. That cobbler looks divine! I'm an ENORMOUS Paula Deen fan, btw. Anything she makes is "out of this world" as she would say. Thanks for sharing that cobbler recipe. The more buttah the better!

Congrats!
Those mouth watering shots distracted me. ;)

LOVE this post!! I'm from a small town and football IS LIFE there, so I totally GET it! However, I've never had to sit on the opposing side!!
That cobbler looks delicious. I think I may have to make that this weekend! One more thing, playing the xylophone.. that is so cool!! How did she get interested in that?
Hope you're doing well!

I love seeing families, and your family is beautiful!! Thanks for giving us a peek at them. Gurl, you gotta get to the game earlier next time so you can sit with "your people".

BTW, I've been craving peaches and I WANT that cobbler!!

Isn't it great fun to live close enough to attend grandchildren music and sport events? Mine are growing up so fast these days are almost gone. Now we find new ways to "connect and be there" for them. (Bringing on home cooked foods brings them for sure!). (Like a peach cobbler!)

The book and the movie, The Help, are wonderful!
Favorite character . . .? Mine, MINNIE. Love those eyes!

Musta been kinda hard sitting on the opposing team's side!

SOME CALL IT RED

“I don’t have time,” my grandfather said,
“to dither around and stand on my head,
pretending that crimson is blue, not red—
just tell me the truth, if you please.

“I’m much too old for being lied to,
so tell me the truth about the rose hue
that colors the sky when the day is through
and adds a bright blush to the trees.

“Some call it red and some call it pink,
some call it strawberry wine-colored ink;
I call it rubicund, that’s what I think—
now leave me alone, if you please.”

Hi,
Yes, football season sure does mean Fall. Cute family, and proud grandma. I have a cobbler recipe that we love that is almost identical. No lemon and you use your bottled peaches. I'll have to try this one with fresh ones. Yes, I do love my buttah!

Saun said...

Beautiful pictures and yummy looking cobbler. Enjoy the football season :)

I think it is wonderful how you all live so close that you can actually go see the grands "do their things"! I'm not a football fan, but I love the atmosphere. The cobbler looks so good and I can only imagine how it smells when it bakes. Yum!

We haven't seen the movie or read the book yet...but, I will. It seems to be the only one in recent times that everyone who sees it loves!

Yippee, they won their game. You are a proud grandma as you should be. Your daughter looks like you and is very pretty. Your family all are good looking bj, How can they miss with parents like you and Mr. Sweet. They sure are growing up. Mine are too. Some of mine are in the band and loving it! I wish we lived close enough to go to their games. I love your photos.

Yummy peach cobbler. I haven't made it this summer at all. I haven't been home long enough. HA!

I saw the movie 'Help.' I loved it and would love to read the book. The casting was awesome and not well know for the most part. Oscars should be considered for this movie. Great acting.
