AUTUMN is coming slowly to SWEET NOTHINGS...
It, so far, is mostly IN THE KITCHEN....♥
THESE, ABOVE,.....
HOMEMADE....FROM SCRATCH....BROWN SUGAR ICING
ARE NOT MINE...
THEY belong to COOKING WITH K
AND you can go HERE for her luscious recipe.
I take the time to make homemade when I can...
but, when I CAN'T...
I DO THIS...
Keep cans of ORANGE CINNAMON ROLLS in the fridge AT ALL TIMES !
Heaven forbid that we wake up, ready for ORANGE CINNAMON ROLLS and
THERE ARE NONE !
I melt a little BUTTAH...and slather it ALL OVER THOSE ROLLS...
then, I add just a little LOW FAT CREME CHEESE on the tops...
sprinkle on a tad more CINNAMON...I do love me some extra Cinnamon...
sprinkle with pecans and POP IT ALL IN THE OVEN....
and.....WAIT
NOW...I must say that once these BAD BOYS are baked..
it's a tad bit hard to spread that luscious ORANGE icing over the pecans.....but...it works.
The taste of the roasted pecans just about KNOCK YOUR SOX OFF...sooo good.
Once that icing dries, the pecans are locked in and EVERYthing is....
READY TO EAT... ♥♥
I just LUV tiny little pumpkins...
O....there's NO doubt that HOMEMADE are MUCH better. ♥
I aim to try HER recipe, just as soon as I can.
"Thanks, K"
IN THE MEANTIME...
these store-bought, DRESSED up just a little,
will curb the craving of a REALLY GREAT ROLL.
I am joining
♥
I have not had these rolls in years but they are good and they way you do them they must be even better. I would weigh 300lbs if I kept them in the frig all the time as I have zero impulse control!
ReplyDeleteEverything looks beautiful and delicious. :) We have an old cinnamon bun recipe that's been in the family forever that makes the most delicious (and fattening) buns ever. Of course, it literally takes all day to make them, but it's worth it. Stop by The Pink Home if you get a chance. :)
ReplyDeleteYour cinnamon rolls look YUMMY!!! Love the little white pumpkins, too!
ReplyDeleteI love the orange rolls BJ! When the boys were toddlers they actually had little bits of orange rind in the icing, those were extra good! Bet the pecans are amazing:@)
ReplyDeleteI got a good ideal from your blog, I hope you do not mind. I am having an out door party in a week and need center pieces that do not cost a lot. I am going to use muffin pans and fill some with little pumpkins and some with candles. I got this brain storm after I saw your little caddy done that way. Thanks, Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteHow clever are you!! I think they call that semi-homemade and I am a fan :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Gail
oh man. I just made fresh coffee and how good would 3 - um , I mean 1 of those be with it:)
ReplyDeleteyou sure know how to improve on things.. you can bet there;ll be some orange icing buns on my grocery list. my neighbor just brought me a 5 lb. bag of pecans from VA, so I'll crush and use those.. I gain a lb. every time I visit here. lol
Yep, I'm leaving here hungry once again. You have the best-looking food in blog land, BJ!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Yep...I am with Olive...love them, can't buy them, and really, I gotta stay away from Walmart now too!!!
ReplyDeleteI haven't had the Pillsbury orange rolls ina ges and you are right they are good! But...BJ... you let the icing sit long enough to harden? Really? How do you have the self control? I always eat them warm:>)
ReplyDeleteYes, and this way you're always prepared no matter what. That's what my mama used to say about the extra cans of baked beans. She could whip up something tasty on the spur of the moment no matter what. And cinnamon rolls are better than beans any day!
ReplyDeleteFresh bread is the best! I could live on it ;-) I made some great orange rolls with a cream cheese icing...it's been a while, though.
ReplyDeleteMmmmm..I can almost smell them, bj! I have no problem doing semi home made for the convenience of it! Happy Foodie Friday! Come enter my give away :)
ReplyDeleteCinnamon rolls are my very favorite kind of food...I could live on them with cold milk! Love the pumpkins! ;D
ReplyDeleteOh, BJ, these are fantastic. I love those little devils too when I want something quick. Love the pecans peeking through the frosting.
ReplyDeleteYour cinnamon rolls look so good!! I love your cute white pumpkins too!
ReplyDeleteKathy

ReplyDeleteyay for Herman....hi bj...I am adding pounds to my hips just looking at those orange cinamon rolls...yummy I never thought of keeping them as a staple like salt and pepper well now I think I just might have to do that....come for a visit and see my new potting bench...phyllis

ReplyDeleteThose orange rolls are so delicious for a quick Saturday morning treat with coffee. I'll try you recipe with the added pecans. Your Fall kitchen touches look great, love the white pumpkin. It's Fall inside my kitchen here, to hot to even thing about Fall on the porch. The weather man says this will change this weekend. Hope to find a white pumpkin for the porch. Have a great weekend bj.

ReplyDeleteI hope to see you this weekend for Pink Saturday.♥♥♥
Do you know why I really love this blog? It's because you have such a variety. Really... You are either cooking or decorating or just chatting, and often all in the same post. I really like that.
ReplyDeleteThis one made me want to copy in more than one way.
Nothing better than a cinnamon roll hot out of the oven! YUMMY! POP ART MINIS
