Little Miss Muffet....sat on her.....

coffee sack covered STOOL !!

Some of you might remember that Mr. Sweet made this little foot stool...
and I won this fabulous COFFEE SACK from VAL.
and I saw THESE..
 and I saw THESE...
PENNY covered these adorable stools and they MIGHT be for sale HERE...

SOOO...
knowing that I could NEVER do a project like this without HELP...
LOTS of help..... from Mr. Sweet,
I smiled sweetly and begged asked him if he would HELP me cover this adorable stool he made.

He measured...
he traced...
he cut...
he sweated...

...by this time,
we are realizing that those adorable POINTS on the stool top
are going to be more ROUNDED..
lots of layers..thick foam...
muslin
coffee sack burlap

We also learned, about this time, that we could have just cut
a ROUND piece of foam (yes, I know....some of you TOLD me that..)
because there was too much bulk and we he cut the tips off the points...
worked a LOT better !
NO IDEA...
so while he cut and fitted..
I COOKED...well....not really COOKED.
threw together
Cheese Quesadillas and salsa...
good lunch !
Now, I think this is sooo cute.
THANKS, MR. SWEET

I DID help cut and staple...
I just am no good at measuring...
nor did I know how to put a BUTTON in the center..
I LOVE THAT BUTTON...
He had to drill thru the stool top before we started with the layering....
and got a little wire thingy to pull the threads thru from the button to the bottom of the stool...

I was totally surprised what a difference the button made to the overall appearance of the whole thing.
He's so smart...I never would have thought of adding a button.
I love those sexy little legs...
I JUST  LOVE  IT !!
Did I say Thank you, Mr. Sweet...

I am joining
WHITE WEDNESDAY (well, the little sexy legs are WHITE)
xoxo
bj
NOTE to all the young things out there that keep coming up with these
adorable ideas....
S L O W    D O W N
and let me rest before I have to *get it in gear*, just to stay up with you !
Remember...I'm olden.....and SLOW. :)
...more cute things to do with COFFEE SACKS..
I'm pretty sure I can make a Christmas stocking out of one of my sacks...
and I would LOVE a couple of large pillows...one for each of my leather sofas.
The apron is really cute, too...a little scratchy, maybe..
See...ya'll have me thinking CRAFTS now and
I AM NOT A CRAFTY PERSON.

That stool is the cutest thing I have seen in a while! I'm olden too and I can't keep up with chalk paints and burlap and mod podge - where was all this stuff say, 20 years ago?? I would have been in my 30's and able to tackle just about anything! (I think mod podge was around then) :)
Great job BJ, and that quesadilla looks good. xo

Way to cute!!! He should make and sell them. The coffee sack plus the shape just sets it a part from other stools out there. You are a very lucky girl to have a talented handy man around. I bet your mind is already thinking of something else for him to make, I know mine would be. Thanks for sharing. Decor. Lady
