le Coq of the Walk...

WARNING..
this is a LOOONG  post since many, MANY roosters and hens live at
SWEET NOTHINGS...
CALLING ALL ROOSTER LOVERS...
                           COME QUICK...!

There's a ROOSTER PARTY  going on and we can't start without YOU....
SHELIA of NOTESONGS
is having a ROOSTER PARTY..
WOO HOO
WHAT A FUN TIME THIS IS GOING TO BE....
I have very few NEW roosters added to my collection
so I am using some photos posted before and also adding a few newer one....
These are my favorite rooster salt and peppers.
My sweet daughter*in*law, KATHY, gave me these and a platter to match one year for Christmas.
Their little names...HOPE and CHESTER
HOPE and CHESTER show up again on the large ceramic platter that goes along with the salt and peppers...
YEP...I have NAMES for my roosters and chickens....
do you?

I've had this little plate for several years and it is still a favorite...
POLKA DOTS and BLACK..
what's not to like ??
this is LOU..... SKIP TO MY LOU, MY DARLING.....♪♪
My FUNNIEST Chicken story happened with a fellow blogger......
Remember NIKKI at BLAH BLAH BLAH BLOG ?
She is, without a doubt, one of the FUNNEST ladies I've had the pleasure to know.

About 4 or 5 years ago, we were all on RATE MY SPACE where you are SUPPOSED
to post photos of your house or rooms...
We did that......for awhile....
Then, one day, just out of the BLUE..
I posted a picture of one of my ROOSTERS...
Well, needless to say, EVERYone jumped on the ROOSTER WAGON and started
posting THEIR roosters....
NIKKI....wanting to join in the fun but having NOT ONE SINGLE ROOSTER in her house,
ran to her freezer, ...
grabbed a FROZEN CUT UP FRYER...
took a photo of it and....
POSTED IT ON RATE MY SPACE
for all the world to see....
I'm telling ya...I laughed so hard, I nearly threw up....
It was so so funny and, all these years later, I SELDOM see a cut up chicken that
I don't think of
NIKKI......
"show me the way, JACK"
ALL IS WELL WITH MY SOUL...♥♥
hope it is with YOURS, too. :)
This is MAGNIFICENT MIKE....
can you believe he has a little door on his side that opens to place a CANDLE inside...? CRAZY...
This is TISKIT....
TISKET shows up a lot at our breakfast table.....

 ♫.a tisket, a tasket...I lOST my yellow basket...♪♪
just a song from my early childhood....:)
A special friend gave these magnificent rooster picture to me...
just out of the goodness of her HEART...
I've just realized they haven't been named......
PAIGE 'n KYLE
You probably guessed HER name....
SASSY BRITCHES
Ole "PURE COUNTRY" has lived here for about 8 years..
maybe a little longer...
He's made of wood and thrifted for a couple of dollars....

"I'll change you from a rooster to a hen with one shot !"
Dolly Parton's character in  9 to 5, the movie.

THIS little rooster tells me which way the wind blows..
Mr. Sweet built the cupola..ain't he grand !!

A little ole chicken feeder being used for GRANDS candy...:)
When I was little, my mother ordered baby chicks THROUGH THE MAIL...
They would come in big cardboard boxes that had "breathing holes" in it...
Mom had big feeders like this one for them and it was such fun, watching them grow...
"If I hadn't started painting, I would have raised chickens."
                    Grandma Moses
 This is WILLIE and WAYLON
and they weren't as COLORLESS  as these roosters...
and that's a fact !

Maybe most of you can tell by looking at how COLORFUL he is...
that his name is ELTON JOHN
"I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues" ♪
                                    Elton John
...and
THE  TERMINATOR  DOMINIKER .....
HE IS MY FAVORITE OF ALL THE ROOSTERS
that hang out here at SWEET NOTHINGS...
He is, indeed, THE LEADER OF THE PACK...
could be because he's black and white and has....POLKA DOTS !
I think
HE thinks
that he's UGLY....*shhhhh
BUT...
I think he's so UGLY, he's CUTE !!
HAVE A MAGNIFICENT DAY...

*NOTE...I do have a few more roosters but...
I'll save them for....NEXT time.. :))
I hope you will go over to NOTESONGS and check out all the hen houses...
LOTS OF FUN...

Not a hen nor a rooster in my house - obviously I'm totally out of the loop, but I sure did enjoy yours! Perhaps it's all my Louisiana 'gators that keep the chicks away...Oh! Oh! I just remembered, Mister is taking "Rooster shots" into his bad knee, I guess that makes him the " cock of the walk" at our place!! LOL. Does he count?

Plenty of roosters reside within your abode. And yet everyone of them seems more cocksure and proud than the real ones. The attitude that seems to crow who is the king of this coop. Lots of kings here, but not many servants (yourself excepted :)

Is that a box of oatmeal raisin cookies? The sight alone prompts me to say these beauties are delicious!

BJ,

Loved "The End"....no, not that it was long...I don't think it was as long as you warned us. It was a special treat. And to think of all that wonderful green in your back yard!!!!!!!!! Goodness gracious, our yard is so brown from the drought. Except for where the soaker hose goes around the foundation. LOL

LOVED it all BJ. Of course, I always do.
