THE FOLLOWING IS
MY MIRACLE..bj

(The following MIRACLE was posted a few years ago....)
IT IS THE MOST UPLIFTING STORY IN MY LIFE.
Two of our precious grandsons each had their backs broken within a year of each other.BROOKS, 13 years old, a motorcycle accident, very serious, heartbreaking and heart-stopping for days, into weeks before we knew that he WOULD be okay, with time.

At first, the doctors said he may not even SURVIVE such trauma...
then, if he did, he might not walk again.
There's no words in this world to describe our hurt, our fear.
We spent many nights, pacing, crying, praying, stomping feet and back to praying....

I thought, that in my lifetime, my heart had hurt before but nothing ever hurt like this.
We all were so scared, we could barely breath.
He spent many weeks in the hospital and wore a back brace for a year.

UPDATE: 8/2011
Brooks is a strong, healthy and MIGHTY good-looking 18 year old.
He has a slight hump on his back that will most likely stay with him
all his life but his doctors say his back is HEALTHY .
He does need a good mattress..and his back gets tired sooner than he wants...
but he is doing so well.

We give thanks to our Heavenly Father for HIS mercies...
and ALL PRAISE goes to HIM.
The older brother, 16 years old, in a VERY serious automobile accident.
Very serious broken back,
cut his nose away from the top part of the lip....
another heartbreaking, heart- stopping few days, into weeks/months .

Our hearts were hurting so, we could barely speak, breath;
we just sobbed and prayed,
declared "why not ME?"
and back to praying...we
WE ALWAYS CAME BACK TO PRAYING.

UPDATE..8/2011
Drew still has a little weakness in his back...it has healed good, the doctors say, but his back seems to bother him at times of tiredness...it may take a little longer to strenghten and we all pray for him and his brother ALL THE TIME.

Every single morning, I wake up so thankful, so grateful,
so full of life and joy that both of these fine young men
that I love more than life itself,
survived these accidents,
came away still able to walk,
still being able to plan on a full, smiling life....
and this is one of those mornings I just needed to talk about it and express, in writing, and to you, what I express to GOD every single day.
THANKFULNESS will follow me all the days of my life....

I DO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES....!!....
AND I KNOW WHO PERFORMS THEM....
THERE IS NO DOUBT !

I am linking with
PINK SATURDAY,
for the MIRACLE PARTY ....

PLEASE go over and see what it is all about.
It's a wonderful way to help people so in need of a MIRACLE.
LAST YEAR, we helped a sweet lady with breast cancer.
This year, it's a little boy...brain tumors.

Here is a message from Kelee:
You may have heard about the up-coming MiracleMakeover Video Reveal Party. We will be sharing the story of a little boy who is probably a lot like your son, grandson or nephew; he loves cars, trucks and trains. Charlie enjoys riding his bicycle, too. But, he is different than most eight year-olds in two ways: he has brain tumors and he leads a toy drive to help kids in chemotherapy to have happier holidays. "Charlie Santa" was founded by our hero when he was just five and in his first round of chemo. This is one of the reasons he was chosen to be an ambassador for kids with Neurofibromatosis Type1, and a recipient of a Miracle Makeover.... here is a little about Charlie and his family.... I hope you decide to write a post for the internet-wide party the week of August 12-18; posting on Facebook and leaving comments will help raise more money for another MiracleMakeover for someone in-need. Read all about it here..... or HERE and be sure to come to see the heart-warming reveal video of the new rooms for Charlie, Liam and Katie that will be here August 12-18. Read the story of his room makeover at Guideposts.org.

To find the hosts that, with each comment you leave on these blogs,
$1.00 will be donated to the MIRACLE MAKEOVER,
GO HERE...

PLEASE...PLEASE...PLEASE
leave a comment on every one of these blogs.
PLEASE help make money, $1.00 for EACH COMMENT,
to help these precious people suffering from the disease we all HATE..
CANCER.

Dear bj, your story about your grandsons just broke my heart. I too believe in prayer and miracles. God's hand touched your family I am sure. I have not written my PS post yet but I am on it. I hope our blogging friends come through with lots of visits. We have the opportunity to help raise lots of money for this great cause.

Your post is awesome bj. You are a blessing to us all.
Love you my sister friend,

Thank you, thank you, thank you, my dear BJ. I hope you know how much I love you.

I remember about your two grandsons. And, I know just how much we love our families. The only way to deal with that kind of fear and sadness is to know that it is all in God's hands.

Thank you for participating in this very special Pink Saturday. I hope your visitors will come over to comment and help us to raise more money for the next Miracle Makeover.

Wow.

I was knocked over with this post, BJ. I had no idea that these events had occurred to your grandsons..and so close together. First, what a huge, huge blessing that they are both OK. Praise the Lord. Second, I'm sure the strength they drew from you and your husband certainly helped them heal.

Thank you for sharing this story with us.

Have a great Pink Sat. L, Dana

Oh, how wonderful your miracles, BJ. We, too, have survived many accidents & had miracles of survival. Yes, one does stomp & ask 'why' ... He holds us up thru t all, doesn't He.

Would you be so kind to leave a comment on my BLOG ONLY, for the Miracle Makeover fund drive. Charlie, 8 yr. old, & his story are fabulous. Every comment brings us a $1 for the next person that will be sponsored.

Have a beautiful weekend.
Hugs,
TTFN ~

I do think that miracles happen. When my youngest was about 6 months old my husband got hit in the face with a cat head pulling wire on a cell tower site. He drove himself to the hospital. The oral surgeon that I had to take him to said it was going to be challenging putting his jaw back together. I asked him why. He said he usually only does it to make the person look good for their funeral. It was his first time putting an injury that severe back together on a living person. It truly is a miracle that God performs on a daily basis to those of us we love. I am so glad that your grandsons came out of their ordeals in good health. Bless you for doing your part to help make others lives happier!

What a compelling story for both your grandsons...just odd how things happen. I am so glad for the miracles they represent for your family. May God continue His work healing their backs.

This is such a worthy cause. I'm not sure that I'll be writing a post, but I sure do believe in commenting.

Wow! First of all, thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hi. Of course I remember you. My brother is doing pretty good. Still not normal but has not gived up and still goes to PT every week. He continues to get a little better every time I see him. Thank you for asking.

I read your post about your grandsons. Oh my! What a lot they and you went through. I'm so happy to hear that God's loving hand was upon them and they are doing better.

Prayer is the answer to all of our problems and trusting in God is at times hard but always the right thing to do.

I am going to read the other blogs and will post to them. This little boy is a hero in my eyes!

I'm glad Brooks and Drew are doing well. My son has a friend right now in the hospital with a broken neck and decreased ability to move. If you would say a prayer for Cory that would be great. This is an absolutely awesome post and you are a the sweetest lady! (And the best-est cook too -- did I ever tell you that before? ha ha ha
