Good morning, all
Saturday is always fun because it's when
MIZZ JENNY
lets us all have fun, playing in her
The rules seem to change each week as she
gives us the amount of words to use..
sometimes, we choose a picture....sometimes she chooses it for us.
She can explain it all MUCH better than I
so do go over and
**
This week, we may choose a picture,
use 50 words or less,
and she gives us the words,
"You are my sunshine.....
Since this is only my 2nd time to play,
you have to bear with me until I can
really get into the thick of things....
YOUR ARE MY SUNSHINE
a favorite song,
of my daughter's
when she was young.
SHE WOULD BEG ME TO SING
tho I never could bring
a true note to the song,
it was fun !
♫♪♫ ♫♪♪
I am also linking with a BRAND NEW MEME
that is going to be more fun than A BARREL OF MONKEYS
O boy..we get to show off our very favorite pins..
and talk about our favorite songs, too.

*another true statement here.
Stacy's favorite song was
YOU ARE MY SUNSHINE.
Isn't singing with the children or grandchildren a delight? I think I shall try to teach this song to my daughter. She's got a good voice for a seven year old.

How fun, I love it! I had a hard time trying to get past the song to come up with something to write. Happy Weekend BJ:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat fun prompts Jenny provides... I enjoyed reading your 50 words and I must say that Stacy has good taste in music. What's not to love about a cheerful, upbeat song like You are My Sunshine?!
ReplyDeleteI noticed that you don't brake for word verification blogs anymore. I think I must come to this as well. I am trying to understand the problem that some of the bloggers say that they are having, but I just don't get it. I have had a few incidents with spammers as well and I don't resort to slapping on word verifications. They are reported and I go merrily on my way for days and days before I see any more of the stuff.
Love this song, I'm going to teach it to my grand Victoria, who's 7 and learning Eng. very well! Now for your gorgeous grands, wow!, such big kids, why girl friend, did you get married at 12??!! You even have a great-one too! God bless them and you. Happy Sat. too.

Cute post, BJ!
ReplyDeleteI've never even tried to do Mizzzzz Jennny's Sat. things. :-)
Oh, I love your photo! The emotions evoked by so few words is amazing. Thanks for a great Centus.
ReplyDeleteNamaste..........cj
My favorite song I sing it to Ryker all the time
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had a favorite song too! Now I sing it to my grandaughter. Blessings~Ames
ReplyDeleteThat looks like FUN! You did a great job!
ReplyDeleteMy oldest daughter hated that song from the moment she first heard it as a toddler because it makes her cry!
Thank you for coming dear BJ and for the lovely comment. Thank you for letting me know about this and I saw it, I pressed where it says FABBY'S LIVING and it showed up and this has pappened to me with some bloggers too, from time to time, I don't know why. Have a nice Sat. and Sunday. FABBY
ReplyDeleteHi BJ, this is a cute post. Miss Jenny keeps us on our toes, for sure. I am hooked on Alphabe-Thursday. You are great at this! xo,
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely in the swing...this is a very nice piece.
ReplyDeleteMy children always loved that song as well. My grandmother sang it to me when I was young and I always harmonized with her. Great fun!!!
ReplyDeletecute little ditty & when singing with kids it's no holds barred cause they really don't care if you can sing or not. I'm sure she appreciated that you did:-)
ReplyDeleteI sang that one to both my children, because my mother sang it to me.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet post and picture!
I loved this! You are doing very well for a newbie! This is a great baby-singing song!
ReplyDelete"You are my Sunshine" - what a great compliment when you REALLY think about it! I'm very thankful for all the Sunshine in my life!
ReplyDeleteChildren do have a way of bringing sunshine into our lives.
ReplyDeleteLovely use of the centus, :)
That is such a great song. It is still used a lot in Ads and I only just heard it yesterday!
ReplyDeleteIf you have 5 minutes to spare please drop by and check out my latest post. I have started a new Weekend linky party where you can link up posts about your favourite songs or your your favourite Pinterest Pins, or even both! This post would be great to link up!
Best wishes and happy weekend BJ!

ReplyDeleteWhen I was 16, I spent a week in the hospital. My nephew BJ (the one who first called me La) was only 3. He called me on the phone in the hospital and sang You Are My Sunshine. :o)
ReplyDeleteWith my little's I found it didn't matter if I was on tune or not...it was the love that was shared through the song that mattered most. You are doing wonderfully!
ReplyDeleteOh you are good, BJ. You should
ReplyDeletehave been a composer....Christine
HI BJ~ When I stop by your blog, I just feel happy - or should I say blessed? Love the pics of your family - yes, you are blessed!

Oh... It's on my main blog, BUNNY JEANS DECOR and MORE!
ReplyDeleteMy mom always used to sing it to me. Great memories!
ReplyDelete=)
BJ,
ReplyDeleteMy MoMa used to volunteer me for all sorts of performing arts as a youth. I USE to have a great deal of talent! One year at our annual Memorial Day program which she organized,I was told I would be singing,"You are my Sunshine." When I ask," Where's the score?", she nearly dropped her teeth. I had never heard it. No one had the score. She had a lady in town come over and sing that song over and over and over to me. I will NEVER forget that...ever. To a musician...this has disater written all over it! WELL...not only did I sing "You are my Sunshine"...but there were tears from widows and a standing ovation.
My son and daughter ~in~law's niece sang it to them at their bridal shower...she was age six at the time! So sweet!!! Thanks for reminding me of the joy that comes from this song!
Fondly,
Pat
I sang to my girls when they were little and I still sing to them sometimes:>) Have a great week BJ!
ReplyDeleteI sang to Haley this weekend and she sang back
ReplyDeleteTwinkle twinkle little star how I wonder what you had for breakfast.
Gotta love the 3's
For a 'newbie' you are doing well especially as Miss Jenny is being a bit cheeky! I loved this!
ReplyDeleteBJ, you are the super sleuth of memes! I can't believe how many you find to join! :)
ReplyDeleteI am not fond of roosters, but I did look at yours! Loved the napkin ring!
BJ. Love this tender little link! This made my heart smile. I can tell you are a woman who loves big!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this.
