COULD YOU JUST LIVE ON SNACKS...me, too

snack/snak/

Verb:  "Eat a snack."

Noun: A small amount of food eaten between meals.

First of all...
I have absolutely NO idea why this all looks just like VALENTINE'S DAY..
Well, RED and WHITE  HEART SHAPED DISH
PINK FLOWERS..
.guess those are WHY it looks like Valentine treats,
here in the middle of AUGUST.
good grief
THESE are store-bought (gasp)
CREAM CHEESE WONTONS
and they are worth about a million bucks each.
THEY ARE GOOD.
Add a Sweet and Sour dipping sauce and you are ON THE MOON.
I am pretty sure I can eat a whole, entire package of them
BY.  MY.  SELF.
THIS savory spread is new for me.
I combined INA GARTEN'S recipe (what NERVE I have to mess with HER recipes)
with things I had on hand.
I am a firm believer in not having to "run to the store" for an ingredient
if I have something  that just might work as well..
ok....or nearly as well.....
I just mixed MASCAPONE CHEESE (I'm not crazy about this cheese)
with Cream Cheese,(it really called for Sour Cream..gotta try using that, too)
add 4 or 5 slices of fried BACON, broken into small pieces,
salt and pepper to taste..
the recipe calls for chopped fresh parsley
but, I was completely out.
fantastic on tasty crackers...
OR
 DELICIOUS ...
absolutely yummy on little
FRENCH BREAD ROUNDS.
OK...I heard someone giggle out there..
you think my using CHOPPED CELERY LEAVES is pretty funny when it's SUPPOSED to be
CHOPPED FRESH PARSLEY...♥
but... look what a pretty picture it made. :)

AND, we do love
Cheese Quesadillas
and
Salsa.

I just add a little butter to both sides of the flour tortilla and fill with our favorite cheese..
You can sure grill them outside on the grill..or in a skillet..
preferably CAST IRON

I have a wonderful recipe for homemade salsa....
but THIS
KYLITO'S SALSA
from our market
is  really REALLY
good.
It's the best store-bought
salsa I've ever tasted.

I know salsa is one of the things that is
"Goodness is
in the mouth of the taster" so .....
just sayin'

Good, juicy and sweet fresh FRUIT has always been a favorite snack.
Oh... ♫♪
and notice the cute CUP my fruit is in...
Isn't this one of the ka-utest measuring cup sets you've seen lately ?
I sure do like them.....A LOT !
I like the fact that it has ML listed on ea one and also OUNCES.
I have SOMETHING ELSE so cute, I am about to have a run-away...
and it's
ON THE WAY. :o)
I saw these adorable measuring cups over at SULLIVAN AND MURPHY.
When I told SUE how much I liked them,
she put me in touch with
ANGELA that has a charming ETSY shop.
Angela had them on their way to me within a day.
THANKS, SUE AND ANGELA

I'd love to know what YOUR favorite snacks are....

Yes Ma'am I could live on Snack, especially when they're served up in your variety of beautiful dishes...But even better than living on snacks, is the idea of living on desserts. Sure wish we could do just that!! Yum! Those little wonton bite things look scrumptious!

I am with you BJ! You just picked cream cheese for everything and I could pretty much live off that. I love quesadillas or chips and salsa, they are standards around here. We love snacks so much that often when we go to restaurants we have the appetizers and then the desserts - leave out the main dishes.

I have to admit, I am so snack minded that the rain in the background on your blog - I thought it was a deep fryer! (Naughty me!)

Good thing I just had lunch!

I made really nice ciabatta sandwich with ham , cheddar, spinach, tomatoe, a sprinkle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Just for me!

Funny thing ... I was thinking of how you are always teasing us with your lunch. I thought maybe I should do the same. But I was too hungry to wait and I'm afraid I ate it all gone, way too fast!

I like snacks/appetizers and desserts best of all. I could just skip the main dish. I love crab rangoon, which looks a lot like your first snack. One of our favorites is good old party mix with lots of nuts in it. I love fruit and cheese, but it has become a meal for us instead of a snack most of the time!

I just cracked up when I heard the sound of rain on your blog! I couldn't live on snacks, although I do love them. Those little wonton bites sound yummo!

I could live on snacks too. Right now I'm in love with any sort of wonton or dumpling with a zippy sweet red chili sauce. Yummy!

There are few snacks I DON'T like, which is why I had to go back to Weight Watchers this week.

I love anything that has cream cheese in it.

Girlfriend, you are making me HUNGRY!! I'm so not snacking till after the wedding cuz this mama tried on her mother of the bride dress braless - cuz I needed a strapless - and well lo and behold once the girls came up cuz I finally got the bra I needed, the dress is waaaaayyyy tight so I'm in snack rehab. Grrrrr.....I shouldn't have waited so long to try on the strapless and the dress together. And here you go, putting the snacks right in front of my face and I'm hungry, yes I'm hungry....ah the torture we go through for our kids. Are you feeling guilty? :) Starving myself (ok that was a fib, not starving just not snacking on goodies) to fit into a dumb dress!!!!!

I pretty much have never met a snack I didn't like! And anything with cream cheese is a definite winner. This is a great post and I'm going to check out the measuring cups. Thank you for linking up to Open House Party Thursday...I really appreciate it. Come back next week!

It's almost midnight and I'm looking at your snack post and about ready to lick the computer screen I'm so hungry. Gosh those cream cheese won tons look fab. What brand are they and where can I get them? I think our grocery store is open all night. LOL
Gosh my stomach's growling.
The other snacks look great too, but I'm coming back to look at them tomorrow.

YES, I could live on snacks, appetizers, tapas, hors d'Oeuvres, mezza or whatever you want to call them. I always thought the mom that Cher played in the film Mermaids had the right idea. Remember how she only made appetizers for their dinner? It made every day a celebration!

I think you will want to place a facebook icon to your website. Just marked down the url, however I had to make it by hand. Simply my suggestion.

I would visit today while I am struggling with one of the haredest parts of my current weight loss program. Snacking kills all my best efforts if I let it get a hold on me. This all looks so yummy!!!

I know when I come over here, good food awaits me. Your family must put the pedal to the metal to get to your house for all your cooked goodies!

Yes, I love snacks! I call it "grazing" food. It has been especially nice during this heat I think...just light amounts of whatever. Just too hot for heavy foods ~ at least for me it is. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hi BJ,
When I first heard the thunder and then the rain, I turned around to see if we were going to get some rain. I just sat and listened for a bit as I have almost forgot what it sounds like. Thanks for the memory!!
You probably already know that I want all of those wonderful snacks, who would be able to choose? Just bring me an assortment please. Hope you are having a great week end and thank you so much for sharing with Full Plate Thursday.
