AN APPLE A DAY....

keeps the Doctor away...
ESPECIALLY
when they are in a delightful and delicious
APPLE FRITTER CAKE
You can go HERE for this delightful recipe.
My Grandpa Jackson used to sit on my momma's front porch and
peel his apple
and that peeling came off in
ONE LONG PIECE....
I tried and tried and tried
but I never could do that.
I DID IT TODAY !
O yeah...I'm the woman !
MY cake looks different from HER cake because
I am such a
SEMI-HOMEMADE GIRL.
I used frozen rolls...
let them rise...
smashed 'em flat...
put the apples and goody stuff on each one.
I then placed them all in a RED loaf pan

...turns out it is a LOT like
APPLE FRITTER PULL APART BREAD..

MIGHTY
GOOD...
and may I just say
O HONEY
NOTE:
when I make them again, (i say THEM because I will make TWO next time)
I will find a way to cut down the sugar a bit as they are pretty sweet and,
don'tchaknow this would be fantastic with PECANS or WALNUTS....
Very good and I will have a big piece of it
along with big, ripe strawberries
in the morning for breakfast...
along with four   A cup of DUNKIN DONUTS COFFEE..
YES MA'AM  !!

Neither could I ever peel in one length an apple... bad luck I guess. But this recipe looks yummy.

  18. It looks completely yummy. I used to try to peel apples in one long piece. Around these parts, we threw them out the window, and in the morning they were supposed to be in the initial of our one true love.

It never worked for me since it's nearly impossible for an apple skin to make an "R".

  19. Your goodie posts are sooooo bad for my diet and sooooo good for Saturday morning breakfast. This is a keeper, I like how you make it easy with the rolls. I can just taste it now with my duncan coffee (I'm hooked on that coffee like you). My mister will send his thanks to your Saturday..........
