SATURDAY CENTUS..

As usual, I am late with my post to play in SATURDAY CENTUS
with the sweet JENNY..
What is the meaning of the word CENTUS, by the way?
I have been watching my blogging buddy, LYNN, that lives over there with EARL at
play this for a long time.
NOW....I WANNA PLAY, TOO
The rule, as I understand it,
is to write a little ditty about
an idea you get from this photo of FRYING AN EGG ON THE SIDEWALK
in 100 words or less.
Let me see...hmmmmm  ...
My Uncle Otis was coming for a visit and I could hardly wait to see him, him being one of my very favorite uncles.
He lived in California..where the weather was IDEAL...
not too hot...not too cold...
The day we picked him up at the train station, here in West Texas, the temp was 104.
Uncle Otis got off the train, we hugged and he said,
"Well, Jeanie, you know I am a professional chef...don't believe I have
ever fried an egg on the sidewalk but I sure could do it today."
The above is a little true story so it is what came to mind
when I saw this cute egg picture.

It's way too hot here and my goodness even hotter in Texas.
On the PB cookies......hot "hot" to you bake then and for how long. I want to make them.....they are gluten free, yeah.

Nice job with the prompt...poor Texas is having a struggle, I know!

Yep, in my part of Texas we are due for a temp of about 105. I certainly think I could fry an egg outside!

BJ,
NOW, I KNOW where all those photos of cooking come from...it's in your genes, girl! This is the sweetest story about the egg. Sad...but true. News reporters stated yesterday was the 34th day of triple digit degree weather in "The Sunflower State"! Whew! Thank you for your sweet comment and visit On Crooked Creek. I'm enjoying the view of "Mr. Ed's" labors, the birds are feasting on the seeds drying right up in the heads this year. Stop by again soon, dear.
Fondly,
Pat

I'm sorry, but doesn't everyone fry their eggs on the sidewalk?

Cute story! I remember TX being hot and miserable in the summer! I bet you could fry an egg on the sidewalk there!

What a cute story. I love it and I have missed this Centus thing -I saw it before but did not know what it entailed. Nothing like frying an egg on a sidewalk-unless it is trying to eat it standing up~ xo Diana

Will you be my chocoholic sponsor? I'm thinking we'd just keep encouraging each other to enjoy chocolate. =)
Thanks for the follow. I'm honored and thrilled to meet another chocolate lover. Your blog's lots of fun too!
Cheers.

Ugh! 104! I don't know how you stand the heat. It has been in the 90's here for a few weeks and I am about sick of it.I hope it cools down for you soon. Have you had any rain yet?

Excellent inaugural post! You're a natural!

Centus, I believe, is Ms. Jenny's coined phrase for 100. You know, a CENTimeter is 1/100 of a meter, it takes 100 CENTS to make a dollar, etc. Unless Ms. Jenny mixes it up, we usually have up to 100 words in which to write our tale. Glad to see you join us!

Very good...at 104 you can throw on some bacon too :)

What a cute story! It sounds like one you should send to your Uncle along with the picture.

Centus just means 100. When I named the meme I couldn't come up with anything I liked in combination with the word 'Saturday'!

Now, I don't always do 100 words but it's too late to change it to Saturday Stories (which I came with up AFTER I had the button designed - ha!)

Thanks for linking your cute remembrance. I could visualize your Uncles face when the heat hit him!
