A PINK BOX...

Not too long ago, I found this beautiful, pink floral box at
GOODWILL ♪♪
It's made of heavy cardboard...
and after I got it home, I discovered a
SECRET DRAWER
I don't know about you but I just LUV  SECRET DRAWERS.....
Inside the box, olden stamped envelopes...
29 cent stamp
...and inside the little drawer..
a tiny book.
no writing in it...no names....nor dates...
not very olden and it is published by WATCHTOWER
THIS is my olden 1944
AUTOGRAPH BOOK...
Someone on another blog posted about their AUTOGRAPH BOOK...
just can't think who it was. (remember...I'm OLDEN)
OH...WAIT...it was SWEET TEA..
she has a really cute blog, too...you might want to go by, sign up to follow
and please, tell her bj said hey.
 1944...
OH MY...that was another lifetime ago...
What a fancy "R" I made, back in grade school...:))
and there....at the top...my initials..
B.J.R.

Did you have an autograph book in elementary
...do you still have it?
I sure would just love to see it.
So many of my classmates are gone now but they each and every single one
made a lasting impression on me.
.....helped make me who I am today.

Most of them graduated high school with me.
We lived in a small town and, back then, it seemed that no one moved out of town,
so the ones I started 2nd grade with, were there all the way thru school
Their memories will live on forever in my mind and heart.
THE COOL THING...
I am going to my 55th class reunion later this month...MAYBE !
I am THRILLED.
...but of COURSE it means,
1.  a new summery dress
2.  new sandles
3.  pedicure
4.  new hair style (what can I do different with SHORT hair!!)
5.  something *in my dreams* to remove...COMPLETELY ERASE...73 1/2 years of
WRINKLES OFF THIS FACE.
Well...OK....
4 out of 5 isn't bad !

With this beautiful little box, I now have a perfect place
to safe-keep my olden AUTOGRAPH BOOK...
my  tiny BOOK OF MEMORIES......
2 little porcelain roses that were my mama's....
Berries of the season, XTRA creamy COOL WHIP and a
BUTTER RUM MUFFIN.♪♫ ♪

bj, what fun to find the little book in the secret drawer of the box you bought. Yes, I love those hidden drawers too. Oh my I did have an autograph book in grade school, I had it filled with sweet notes from little girl friends. I haven't thought of that in years till now. I don't really know what happened to it, just got lost in the past I guess. I do wish I had it. What sweet memories your post stirred bj. Oh my you can't be as many years as you claim, no way, no how. You look much younger.......Have a blast and fun shopping too.

BJ, This is the SWEETEST post, and no pun intended. :) What adoring memories that autograph must bring. You are a treasure! Have fun at that reunion, and remember, Short Hair is CHIC - no matter how you style it! :) Have fun! I too grew up in a small country town where few people ever moved away; with the exception of moi! :( However, it's always lovely to go home to visit and catch up with them. There were 67 students in my graduating class and I knew them most of my life. They felt like my sisters and brothers then, and still do when I have them pop up in my mind. You take care... :)

I still have my autograph book from 5th grade which has Carl Yastremski's autograph (Red Sox). I love the goofy poems we used to write in them! My class stopped reunions after the 25th, sad to say!

Hidden drawers, doors, and other secret mysteries make life so much fun! When my grls were little they loved to find "Secret doors" that led into places most people weren't allowed to go. They looked for them everywhere. They would love to find a box with a hidden drawer, with something actually inside!

What a sweet little box and a fun surprise! I hope you get to go to your high school reunion...I would love to go to my next one! I love seeing my childhood friends! ♥

Never am disappointed visiting your blog. I loved seeing your finds, and wish there had been a bigger surprise hidden in that little drawer. I was waiting to see what you baked for us as well.

Oh I'd love to find a secret drawer. No, I think autograph books were just before my time so I don't have one. I do have my mom's and my grandmother's. I love looking at the beautiful script and the sweet sayings.

My dear you are so cute that you don't need to do a thing to be the sweetheart of 1956. I'm so glad to hear that you're planning to attend. These days, most people are running away from the reunion not to them.

What a sweet little box...Lucky that you found a few little mysteries to go along with it. We didn't have autograph books, but we did sign each others yearbooks in high school. Now, if I could remember where they are at!

You are going to have a ball at the reunion. At mine, I always find that the men have aged badly and the ladies look wonderful!!

XO,
Jane

I LOVE that you found your Autograph Book!! I think I know where mine is but it will take some time to sort through things to get to it...Thanks for the sweet words. And, yes, who wouldn't love that beautiful pink box with the hidden drawer for your treasures?!

I love finding hidden treasures! Your box is very cute! Is there any fudge in it? I still want fudge.... I don't think you have to worry about a thing. A new dress and shoes is always a must! Other than thet, the last 3 you don't even need. You are just gorgeous the way you are! I wouldn't worry about anything. I am sure that you will be the belle of the ball....errr....reunion!

A beautiful box to begin with and to find a secret drawer and a hidden treasure, all the sweeter.
To have that treasure bring back wonderful memories - priceless.

I have a few autograph books from my husband's first wife's Mother AND Grandmother! I will have to do a post about them someday. I collect ephemera and have several letters dating back to the 1800's and 2 from 1797. They are fascinating. I just love looking at the past through the writings I can hold in my hand!

Since you and I are close in age; of course, I have my grade school autograph book. Like you I went through school with the same kids - we are having our 55th reunion in September. Guess I should be thinking about something new to wear, since I can't erase the wrinkles!!! Sally

BJ... I think you'd look great in one of those little short spikey hairdos... you're so cute anyway... just adds a little sparkle to your sparkly personality!

Love the autograph book. I remember taking one to school in Jr High back in the 1960's and having all my friends sign and write something..then they folded the page in a triangle... up or down depending on the previous page... wonder what ever happened to that thing!

Enjoy your reunion! My 40th is next year and I can hardly wait... thinking about getting a funky little spikey hairdo for the event!

hugs. Dixie

BJ, this reminded me that although I do not have my own autograph book, I DO have my GRANDMOTHER's autograph book! It is from the 1800's!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will have to get it out to show everyone! I also have my grandparents marriage certificate from 1907! It is framed and right her next to me! I will have to do a post about this "OLDEN" stuff!!!!! They are real treasures to me! Thanks for the inspiration!!!!!!! XO, Pinky

What a wonderful thing - you were definitely in the right place at the right time, and fated to have it. Have a great time at the reunion.

I had an autograph book when I was in the 6th grade. It was a Dr. Seuss book with all these categories to sign like someone had to sign with their foot, or someone in a uniform, or your friend from a sleepover.....And yes, it's out in the attic. I know all my friends signed it along with my favorite teacher and my orthodonist and his staff.

You certainly got lucky funding that box. The autograph book surely brings back memories from high school. Do kids do that anymore, I wonder.

Happy Pink Saturday. You always get the best 'finds'. And, you do such neat things with them. I had an autograph book - but who knows what I did to it or with it. Gone. It's neat that you had a long time in one place. We always moved, the last 6-9 weeks of school. Well, not always, but enough to be habitual or periodic! I've missed seeing you. I need to get about the virtual world more. And, miss hearing from you. (I'm working my blog by both Google and WordPress now.) Hugs and love, Jenn

BJ, I have no idea what happened to my autograph book or my autograph doggie. Did you have one of those. Long thin dog made of muslin that all my friends signed. ;-)
Have fun at your reunion. ~ Sarah
PS
You don't need to erase a thing, beautiful lady.

I am smiling about this post...it's fun to find something that reminds you of days gone by. I used to have a "memory book" that was signed by my grade school friends. I have since lost the book and the friends, but my smile for the day was the initials....
mine are JBR with the last name of Ramsey.....wish I could make that pretty R :^)
