Good Mornin'...

I got my new beautiful COUNTRY LIVING this week........and I am HAPPY..
Getting it ALWAYS triggers a homey blog post ...
and THIS morning is all about
FAMILY
FRIENDS
COOKIES AND
COFFEE....in my favorite thrifted little cute cup
can't get much better...
OOO, forgot to mention that I'm at the wicker desk in our living room alcove..
this is the desk and chair I bought from
♫♪♪ GOODWILL ♪♫♫
Over time, I've decorated my desk in many ways...
right now, I've a photo of my daddy and I when I was about 9 or 10..
no date on the back...
I have looked and looked for another photo of us together..
can't locate one...
maybe this is the only one....
if so...I sure am glad to have it.
Some of you might remember that my mother and dad divorced when I was 7;
so I didn't see him except for visits in the summertime.....
which were GOOD.
This is the adorable coffee cup mat that my sweet friend,
made and sent to me.
She has an ETSY shop...:))
Country living...
children..
grandchildren...
extended family...
friends...
blessings sent to us that we should nourish and treasure and take the very best care of
ALWAYS...ALWAYS !
This looks like something good to read...
PORTRAIT OF AMERICA...
in the newest issue of CL...
We have the 4th of July coming...
Most of us will share this holiday with family and/or friends and we are
going to have so much fun with each other.
If there's any hard feelings or subjects that need to be addressed in your family..
anything that is causing you or another member of your family/friends heartache,
RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE
is the time to get things straightened out.
Oh, my...
life is so short.
Just flat NO TIME to harbor any kind of bad feelings towards those you love.
Always keeping a POSITIVE attitude can make
ALL THE DIFFERENCE
in your heartfelt relationships.
Moving on...
Sure am glad you stopped in today...
I'll try my BEST to save you a few of these tiny
GINGER SNAPS...
They are so one of my favorites and I have a grandboy, DREW, that
could have eaten a whole bag of them at a time when he was little.
He would get a little hand fulland
dip dip dip them in his glass of icy cold milk. He is just about to turn 21 in July....
don't you love a food that brings such great memories... I surely do !
HAPPY SUNDAY....
LOVE YA ALL...

Hi BJ! Wow ~ where to begin. Firstly, I love your blog banner. I will always miss my Daddy ~ old as I am. When I was young my Mom always made ginger snaps for me and they have always been my favorite cookie. Receiving the latest issue of CL is always a highlight. And finally ~ your reminder to forgive and not hold grudges is spot on. Thank you for such an enjoyable post and I'm sending you love and best wishes for a happy 4th shared with the ones you love!

Hugs,
Susan and Bentley

Thank you for the admonition to "set it straight." Good words.

Love enjoying my morning cup of coffee here at my desk with you. It's very relaxing. Great photo of you and your dad. If it's the only one you have, you're right, it's the one.

Good morning. I have so much to say. I have a cup like that too, and love it. I got my Country Living magazine yesterday and read it cover to cover last night. I loved that page on the back too with the little country store. And the quilts...oh my..I am a quilter, so those always pique my interest. AND...I am a grandma too, and a lady, who grew up very close to her Daddy. Although, my parents were not divorced. I lost my darling Dad 7 years ago, and miss him so much. I have a SON named DREW! Not Andrew...just Drew. He is our baby, and is 22 yrs old.
It was a nice visit here this morning. See you soon. Enjoy the holiday festivities!

Hi Bj- Great post. I got my CL magazine but have not had a moment to sit down and look at it yet...maybe tonight. I ended up working this Holiday weekend (I am at work now....shhhhh)so...that means I haven't had any time to do anything fun YET~

I love your sweet little cup and bowl of cookies and placemat. It is very homey and looks quite patriotic to me.

I must say that your Dad was a very handsome man. I am so happy that you have that picture of him. No baby pictures of you with him either? Of course, I don't think they took as many pictures back then as they do today. Cameras and film were harder to come by and you had to send things off for processing.

Happy 4th of July to you. Your words of wisdom about righting family wrongs should strike chords with those that are in pain because of alienations with their family. Make peace while you can because life is short... Blessings- xo Diana

Such a sweet post, but now I am craving ginger snaps! WAAAH! You brought up a good point in such a loving way. It's hard because life is short. I always think if I had just one more hour with my mom. I try with my dad but do get caught up in what is happening here. Happy 4th to you my sweet friend. BTW-love the pic of you and your dad!

Don't you just WANT the quilt on the cover of that Country Living magazine!? I sure do!
Great words of wisdom, forgiveness is the gift we give ourselves. It takes the bitterness away and leaves us peace.
Thanks for showing the mug rug, I had forgotten about it and it has sparked an idea;>)
Love you bunches!

What a lovely picture of your dad and you, BJ. I know you must cherish it. He was a handsome man!

You know, I think you - and your lovely blog - came into my life about the time you found your wicker desk. I seem to remember your post about it, near the beginning of my blogging adventure. It looks right at home there and a nice spot to entertain us from. ;)

Blessings,
