Everyone that loves PILLSBURY DOUGHBOY, raise your hand...

My good friend, LYNN over at HAPPIER THAN A PIG IN MUD
has the most FUN meme every month on the 15th.
CELEBRITY COOK-ALONG
with a different CELEBRITY COOK each month.
THIS time is extra special for TWO BIG REASONS...
ONE...
Jo at LazyonLoblolly is having a give-away during the Cook-Along! simply stop by her Cook-Along post to see how to enter for a Pillsbury Cookbook and your very own Doughboy:@)

This is SOOO cool, JO.
Thanks for the chance to win these great prizes.

TWO:
LYNN'S  CELEBRITY COOK
this month is none other than that fat, little precious fella that we ALL LOVE...

Now, I have made a lot of things using Pillsbury biscuits and crescent rolls.
these PIG IN THE BLANKETS being one of my favorites.
O.....SORRY, EARL
Their filled biscuits...
ham or bacon or sausage
sharp cheese or creme cheese or velvetta cheese...
they are all good.
OK, EARL...
I can tell you are gettin' nervous as a cat in a room full of rockers..
SOOO,
let's move on to
SOMETHING SWEET....

I took a look in my fridge...
saw this box of TWO PILLSBURY PIE CRUSTS
and knew I had canned cherries in my pantry....
"Now, let me make it perfectly clear...."
I like HOMEMADE CRUSTS much MUCH better but
these Pillsbury Pie Crust are really great.
I keep them in my freezer at all times....
in case of a
COCONUT CREAM PIE
or a
LEMON PIE
URGE should hit us all at once and have NO TIME for a homemade crust..:))
OK....CHERRY PIE IT IS.
Tart cherries...NEVER that canned CHERRY PIE FILLING
Well, it might work in a pinch but I like the tart cherries the best.
THE RECIPE for this pie is on the can of  OREGON RED TART CHERRIES.
Of course, you can use your very own CHERRY PIE recipe.
Most everyone has a favorite.
 ...ready for the oven.
I remembered to put my cute little
BLUE PIE BIRD
in the pie so the filling wouldn't run out all over my oven.
 Cooling on the window sill...
just like in the movies..:))
This little fella always makes me think of a real little baby bird, waiting for his momma to bring dinner.
This is about as creative as I can get with my pies.
I just saved a little dough to make a flower for our HOST...
LYNN
Mr. Sweet thought it was so cute and he was so proud.
NO WAY would I show him what some of YOU can do with your beautiful pies.
Yes, mine is very amateurish...
no tools other than a little knife and a little flower cookie cutter.
 ...just havin' fun with it.
THIS piece, with ice cream, cherries AND...........
the BEST
MAPLE BROWN SUGAR PECANS...
all for our host, LYNN.
O HONEY
**
How fun this party is and I hope all of you will go over to LYNN'S,
sign up to follow and leave sweet words for her.
Take a look at all the other PILLSBURY DOUGH BOY recipes.

Thanks, Lynn, for all your hard work on these fun memes.
I look forward to JULY CELEBRITY....
Who COULD it be ?

This was so fun BJ, love the Doughboys! I haven't had Pigs in a Blanket in so long and your pie is beautiful! I use those cherries at Christmas for a ham glaze. Thanks so much for playing along:@)

Love the old Doughboy! He has been part of my life for a l-o-n-g time! I keep those crusts too because they are are just this side of homemade and perfect in a pinch.

A sweet (literally) post from a sweet (um...I think) Texas gal that has won my heart down to Texas- xo Diana

ps. Did you know we are the Cherry capitol of the US...at least of the Midwest. Door County cherries are shipped all over the world.

Whew! That was quite a post, BJ. ;-)

I can see you have tons more energy than I do. I don't think I ever had that much!!

Everything looks scrumptious. I like the idea of using tart cherries instead of cherry pie filling. Not so cloyingly sweet.

I just read your comment. Sorry about what has happened with some of your followers. Seems that there is always someone who will take offense, no matter the issue.
I try to keep my opinions to myself. Stay light and breezy, sort of.

Have a great Wednesday. I for one am exhausted and about to go for a second cup of coffee and some cold cereal and blueberries.

Thanks so much for your support across the miles. It means a lot.

Your pie looks wonderful to me! I would gobble it down in a heart beat. I love those pie crusts too. Mostly since I cannot for the life of me make a pie crust. I am pie crust challenged. My grandmother made the best pie crust ever. I can't find her recipe anywhere though. Love pigs in a blanket too. The kids just go nuts when I make them. In fact, I haven't made them in a while. Maybe I should do those for dinner....

OH! OH! Here I go again, being "odd man/woman out" again. -sigh-

-moan- I don't like Pillsbury canned Biscuits. -sniff- They taste too salty or something, to me. -pout- Which is too bad, because you can do many things with them. To perk up a simple meal. -whimper-

Oh and I'd get drummed out of the family if I ever served up a pie, not made with my own from-scratch-pie crust.

Sooooooo, of course I think the Pillsbury Dough Boy is cute. But... that's about it. :-)

I've had a crush on the Dough Boy since I was a young teen, even have a picture of me when I was 12 years old holding him when I had received him for Christmas! hehe

I absolutely adore Pigs in a Blanket and make them often as hors d'oeuvres. I always have Pillsbury Dough cans in my fridge:-) Your cherry pie looks soooo delicious and I think you did a wonderful job decorating it!! Yummmmm!!! xoxo

I do not believe I have ever made cherry pie and I really need to. I was reading a new to me but vintage cookbook this weekend that had the best biscuit quotes and it had me thinking of YOU! The little bird is too cute♥
