THE OLD PAINTED COTTAGE

Showcasing another beautiful cottage...
aka
COTTAGE 8
JENNIFER has such a knack for THE BEAUTIFUL.
I am so lovin' that olden ladder, leaning against the wall.
...and see how simple the basket full of tall bottles is..and how amazing it looks..adding texture...
That's one thing I need to work harder on...bringing texture to my rooms in small ways.
Her choice of comment on her cute chalk board is one of MY favorites, as well.
This paticular wall gave her trouble for awhile, trying to make it look as cute as the rest of her house.
You can read on her blog what she and her handsome hunk of a husband did to it to *bring it alive*.
In fact, she is SO good as to be featured in
FIFI O'NEILL'S
ROMANTIC PRAIRIE STYLE.
There's some lovely photos in this beautiful book of the
delightful way JENNIFER decorates.
Her master bedroom is just beyond beautiful...
in fact...it is MY belief that a certain popular catalog just MAY be copying HER.
On her beautiful blog, she has tons of photos of
THIS DOLL HOUSE
BEFORE and AFTER photos that you will love seeing.
I love how she makes her living room, front door entry, look like an entry hall..
the furniture with it's back to the area makes it appear this way, I think.
This isn't a large room so I know it took some sprinkling of magic dust for her
to achieve this look.
SHE'S GOOD !
This adorable arrangement beneath her cloche .....
THE OLD PAINTED COTTAGE
is a PERFECT example of how you can have a mediocre house (and you won't believe her BEFORES)
and turn it into a cottage chock full of  personality and charm..so adorable,
it ends up in a beautiful decorating book!!
Jennifer searches out the things that she dreams of....
an olden cart on the BEST wheels becomes a coffee table in her living room.
This wall of her dining room just blows my mind.
I think she said her hubby built the bottom part...stretching from wall to wall..
and then they hung long shelves above.
It looks like a wall to wall built-in and she has it decorated JUST RIGHT !
You can see much more of this room at her blog.
The kitchen in this adorable cottage...
well......all I can say.....
AWESOME !
and, YES....that hinged, bead boarded FRIDGE is something she and her hubby
DID THEMSELVES.
I KNOW.....BEAUTIFUL !!
You HAVE to see the BEFORE of this kitchen....how she stacked boxes where her
future island would be, so she could get a visual.
**
If you aren't visiting THE OLD PAINTED COTTAGE already,
go over and see some of the most beautiful, exciting and just plain CUTE
rooms in JENNIFER'S dream house.
Sign up to follow, like I did, so you won't miss a single thing she does to her home.(that we can copy:)
AND...
she has an ETSY SHOP..
the icing on the cake.
:))
I am playing today with:
Thanks so much for stopping by today...
Speaking of *the icing on the cake*...
I made a delicious BOX chocolate cake with a fudge glaze
for our home fellowship group ....this was a LAST MINUTE gathering and
I am thrilled to death for
BOX CAKE MIXES...:)
I am also thrilled that I got
SIX past issues of
HOME COMPANION,
one of my favorite magazines that is no longer in production,
from Ebay.
So, what could be better than
a good smelling candle...
6 great magazines to pour over...
a hot cup of DUNKIN DONUTS coffee...
and a big ole slice of that chocolate cake..
?

xoxo bj

Jennifer's blog is *awesome* Thanks for featuring her adorable cottage. I also love Home Companion magazine. I did a post not too long ago on how Mary Engelbreit influenced my home's decor. You are lucky to get those back issues! I wish I had kept more of mine.

I wanted to comment on the ladder in the first picture but as I scrolled down, reading the rest of the post, I had comments galore going through my head. This has never happened before. Wow! I don't know what to say except, wow.

OT but...

You asked... "Have you come across ANYONE that doesn't agree with you on this matter? I want names and addresses!!"

Oh yes!!! There are people who love to quote the Martin Luther King Jr. quote... Which IS NOT ACCURATE, btw. Here is the link to telling of how it got started! The supposed "No rejoicing at any death" thing...

And the extremely kind/gentle/Godly [or naive], bloggers, who just can't...

1) They are not as fully immersed in study of "Why-9/11?", as I am. I became a walking encyclopedia, after 9/11...!

2) They probably don't even know that OBL declared War On The United States, years ago.

3) Or if they knew it, they don't get worked up, over such things. Hehhhhhhhhhhh... Silly me! I tend to get VERY worked up, when someone Declares War On Me.

4) Or they think their religion won't let them do anything but pray. Who knows?

Yep, they are out there! You must just travel in Pretty Blog Land circles, where they *aren't.* Or aren't speaking up. :-)

Gentle hugs...
Please let me explain
