Happy St. Patrick's Day

AN IRISH TOAST
"May you live as long as you want and never want as long as you live."

What a fun day...
I have chosen to post some of my favorite
ST. PATRICK'S DAY photos..
Some are from last year...
some are this years.
No...I really am NOT Irish...
or, at least, that I know of.
BUT...you can kiss me anyway !
♣♣♣
a few things from last year's GREEN table.

YUM #1
I found these amazing GREEN  donuts last year...
the sprinkles took them over the top for me.
I do love me some sprinkles...and strawberries.
:)
Green and white and my beloved BLACK..from last year.
You know...seems like BLACK goes with everything and always makes the other colors POP..
WEARING black makes us look thinner...(and older, if we aren't careful)
I loved using my mother's GREEN goblets.
They really are very versatile and I use them often...with lots of different colors.
♣♣♣
don't you know I am loving this cute-as-can-be
ST. PATRICK'S DAY card..
LUV IT !
YUM #2
♫♪♫...when Irish eyes are smiling.....♪♫♪
♣♣♣
These are dark green place mats but not as dark as they show here..
nor the green and white kissing balls in the plates.
My camera must be acting up....SURELY it isn't the photographer !!!
♣♣♣
♣♣♣
Seems I picked EVERYthing green in my cottage to go on my table this day.
♣♣♣
CHOCOLATE PIE
from MY MAMA'S RECIPES
The best on earth !!
YUM #3
A  green basket of GREENS for a centerpiece.
♣♣♣
"Just as a candle cannot burn without fire, man cannot live without a spiritual life."
LYNN  always comes up with some FUN memes and
this one is no different.
She will have this MONTHLY meme, featuring a
CELEBRITY COOK
and we are to make something devine, using the selected cook's recipe/s.
LYNN, your truffles look DELISH...
can't wait to try them 'cause I. LOVE. BAILEYS.

This time, however...
Scones from the recipes of
THE BAREFOOT CONTESSA
Scones are small British quick breads of  SCOTTISH origin.
They  are especially popular in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand
and  IRELAND.
YUM #4
These are, by far, the best I have ever eaten.
So flavorful ....
CRANBERRY ORANGE SCONES
Go HERE for this delicious treat's recipe.
You are gonna them sooo much.
And, the bonus...
This recipe made 2 dozen scones so I had enough to put in the freezer for
another TEA TIME
MR. SWEET just loves these with a tall glass of icy cold  milk...
♣♣♣
The BAREFOOT CONTESSA'S
on your left...
I added more fresh ORANGE JUICE to my icing so it isn't as WHITE as hers.
We like a LOT of the orange flavor.
You can go HERE for her delightful recipe.
And, believe me...
I WILL be making these again....and again....and again !
and...as I said, the only thing I changed in the making of these
is the amount of Orange Juice I added to the GLAZE.
Not a change one in the scone it's self.
I have a post coming out soon on the
MAKING OF SCONES
so, if you are interested...
♣♣♣
No IRISH table would be complete without
an IRISH COFFEE...
1 and 1/2 oz. GOOD Irish whiskey
1 teaspoon Brown sugar
6 oz. hot coffee
Heavy creme
Combine that good whiskey with the sugar and coffee in
an AWESOME mug, stirring to dissolve.
Float cold, whipped, sweet creme on top.
DO NOT STIR.
Sip slowly and enjoy to the very last drop.
YUM# 5
A vintage canning jar...
A 4 Leaf Clover...
always a sign of  GOOD LUCK..
May YOU always have the
GOOD LUCK of the Irish.
YUM #6
"May you be in Heaven a half hour before the devil knows you're dead."
Irish green candles...
green and white IRISH kissing balls..
all in the cutest container I won from
last year.

SLEEP TIGHT TONIGHT...
♣♣♣
Linking with these amazing parties...

I am going on a FUN
SPRING BREAK
with daughter and 2 grandgirls
to DALLAS
and so my posts will be pre-scheduled ones.
Taking my laptop but not sure if I'll
EVEN
have time to use it. :)))
MR. SWEET will be by himself for a few days and he'll probably ENJOY it !
"Now, don't you be doing any fun things til I get back, Mr. Sweet."
*
See ya later, aligator......
on my way to buy some new HOT jeans.....

Bj, your post has certainly put me into a festive mood. Oh and BTW, orange and cranberry scones are up there as my favorites. I think my favorite scone is a Maple Scone and a good orange/cranberry is a 2nd. Love that combination of flavors.

As usual Bj, I am now hungry after reading your post. Can I blame you for my last 10 pounds? LOL! You know I am just kidding. I can pack on the pounds all by myself, thank you very much!
Hugs, Sue

What a fun post. Your blog looks so festive...love the header and the way you have the little shamrocks between your paragraphs...how did you do that?

You have lots of pretty greens. I think the color of your green goblets is perfect. Mine are not a true green (as I found out last night when I tried to put them near a green plate).

Scones are a favorite around here. I'm always trying new recipes for them. We love them because they are just sweet enough, but not too sweet! Have a fun vacation...be safe!

Chocolate pie, scones, Irish coffee, green iced donuts....BJ you're killing me here! lol It's no wonder I'm always drooling when I come visit you. Will have to remember to wear a bib before I click on your blog! hehe

Love all of your green and black table setting, just gorgeous. As you say, the black really makes the other colours pop.

I'm sure you're having a terrific time with your daughter and 2 granddaughters, can't wait to hear all about the fun you had:-) In case you do have your laptop with you, make sure you drop by my blog, I'm celebrating my 5th Blogiversary with a giveaway:-) xoxo
