TWO FRENCHY GIFTS I LOVE....

My sweetest daughter, STACY LEIGH, brought these beautiful
WILLIAMS-SONOMA
dish towels to me from a trip to DALLAS.
BUT...
they are so PRETTY.....
and  so perfectly FRENCHY.....
I decided to use them for awesome place mats.
Don't you think they look great ?
I love the look of the vintage golden flatware with it all.
A very sweet and good friend gave me these
adorable dessert plates.
I thought they looked really GREAT  with the cream ware dishes I already had.
SOOO,
I felt a FRENCH TABLE coming on. :)
A French inspired table always must have some FRENCH HENS around...
well.....
and a rooster or two.
The little plates have different fruits on them
but I am using the two with grapes today.
AHHHH, the fun of  PhotoScape...
A little sugar jar that matches the dessert plates..
I just put in a little bouquet of flowers.
...and a few more French plates are added to the mix..
Sunflowers...
handsome roosters...
grapes....
They all add up to
FRENCH FUN..!
Both little plates....
♫♪♫ GOODWILL ♪♫♪
Time for a NEW CENTERPIECE...
BEIGNETS....
the  most awesome French donut you've ever put in your mouth.
Dessert time...!!
I have tried Paula Deen's recipe, along with several others
and, by far, the MIX that comes from CAFE du MONDE
in NEW ORLEANS,
is the very best.
Just add water to the mix, roll, cut and fry.
They are so tender and light, I can't stand it.
DELICIOUS !
Be sure to check at your local grocery store
for the mix.
Our market does carry it.
I am so lovin' this beautiful book
my sweet daughter gave to me.
It is full of the most mouth-watering photos
you've ever seen.
Always adding PLENTY of powdered sugar just makes beignets EVEN BETTER..
These are so fluffy with all that sugar, I could just DIVE right in the middle of it. !
;))
A beignet is better when served with a strong, delicious coffee..
OMGosh...
Lets have a beignet and a cup of coffee and.......
TALK ABOUT IT.
OH HONEY

Yummmmm! I may have to try those beignets.
I am being reminded that you are from Lubbock. I just love that wonderful kitchen/home store that is in the strip center there... close to Coldwater Creek maybe. Fabulous! Now that my daughter-in-law is out of med school there, I doubt we'll ever get back there but I sure have great memories of some fun shopping trips.
Have a great day!

I've never tried to make them and I doubt we have that mix around here. I'll have to check once I'm across the lake in NY state in the spring Yum! And I love the sound of a good strong cup of coffee with it.

Your roosters are adorable too...
I hope you've been really well and having a great day.

I have just Miss Phoebe and she's probably all I'll get, so I'm spoiling her enough for ten kids! Thanks for sharing and reminding me that it is just about time for me to make my annual batch of Mardi Gras beignets!

I have a box of Cafe du Monde Beignet Mix in my pantry and now I want to make some. I have to wait until the weekend though. No sweets for me during the week so I'll have to stare at your screen and enjoy the sweet scenery. Your French table accents are very pretty.

Jane said...

I do love that mix. I'm going to need to his the cajun grocer online and order more... I have been making beignets from scratch, trying different recipes. Some have been fabulous, others were good for the trash. They are a favorite with my son and his friends.
