Back in NOVEMBER, I did an OUTDOOR shoot and
I showed you one collection of my
BLUE WINDMILL CANISTER COLLECTION...
The day was so pretty, I took several shots of
one set of my
BLUE AND WHITE DISHES...
but the photos got buried in my DRAFTS...
and so I am showing them today.
but the photos got buried in my DRAFTS...
and so I am showing them today.
THIS set of dishes are my LIBERTY BLUES...
I've done many MANY posts on them...
and will, no doubt, do many MANY more.
These photos were takes 11/20/10
and it was the most beautiful, warm day.
In the 70's....
and TEXAS TECH won their football game that day...:)
I buy these CRANBERRY SCONES from our market and I would just about kill for them....
Yep...they are GOOD...
The leaves are so beautiful,
they almost look faux..
These beautiful Liberty Blue dishes, made in England,
were offered for sale at grocery stores. in the 70's.
They were made only 2 years and
the promotion ended December 31, 1976
They were made to tie in with the 1776-1976 bicentennial celebration.
Now, for the life of me, I do not remember them in the stores.
I had 2 small children, doing all the things a young mother does and I guess
I was just too busy to LOOK.

This is all so refreshing in this cold frigid weather...I am longing for some warm weather! ;D
ReplyDeleteBJ, I absolutely adore them, and I particularly love them with those leaves. I can see why you fell in love with these, and those goodies look good, too. Now, you've made me hungry, and it's LATE!
ReplyDeleteHappy Outsoor Wednesday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
mmmm, those lovely blue dishes are tempting me to go make a hot chocolate. It might be nice before going to bed on this cold, snowy night. I just heard the plow go by.

BJ,
ReplyDeleteLovely blue dishes! The way you photograph food makes me so ready to bake, cook, eat! Your lovely post has inspired me to bake some orange cranberry bread today! Wish I knew how to make scones!
Fondly,
Pat
Beautiful dishes BJ! Wish I had one of those scones with my coffee right now! At least 8" of snow last night... ugh, I'm about ready for spring right now:@)
ReplyDeleteBeeeej,
ReplyDeleteI love our blue and white! I have a creamer in red and white, very similar to yours.
I'm having a giveaway, git your little you know whattie over to enter.
xoxo and big hugs!
Good morning bj, I haven't forgotten my favorite bloggers, I have been in Florida for two weeks all together. Christmas week and a week in January. Lot of busy times at Christmas and our grandson's wedding this past weekend. It is good to be back and catching up. I posted our grandson's wedding today. It was a wonderful event with lots of our loving family present.
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white is so pretty. A wonderful collection to enjoy. I'm glad you found it to share with us.
I just read your post about darling Deeds. Having just spent time with our grands at our grandson's wedding I am amazed at how fast they are all growing up. This Feb. they will all be teens and some past their teens. We love them so much and I know you love yours too. We are blessed with our wonderful families and I thank our Lord every day.
We have been snowed in for 3 days ever since we arrived home from Florida. It snowed again last night. It is beautiful but I am out of milk!!! LOL.
I miss you my dear sister friend,Love,
Jeanne
Beautiful blues, I remember that post! I love them but have NO blue! I have a set of brown, hmmmm where are they? I'll go look! Have a blessed, but chilly day! HUGS!
ReplyDeleteLove your blue! And I love Liberty Blue. There is a small, quiet man in my church who is a rather unassuming man who appears to just be a rather 'ordinary' man. When you get acquainted you find that he is the most interesting and thoughtful man. When Liberty Blue was in the grocery stores in the 70's he loved it and purchased it - piece by piece - for his girlfriend, then fiance, now wife. She treasures it more than any other gift!

Days like that will come again and I'm so ready for them. It's 37 here in Sunny Florida...lol...I love your dishes and how you presented them. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour Liberty Blues are beautiful! Great photos with the autumn leaves, too. Have a great week, BJ!
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs, Beth
Your photos sould be in one of those high class magazines; you area an artist with your camera.
ReplyDeleteI actually bought some of these blue dishes - to be exact - one place setting- from the grocery store. 76 was the year I married and I'm assuming I ran out of money before I bought any more! Love yours, though!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Ava
Hi BJ
ReplyDeleteI like all your blue and whites - glad you were able to collect so many pieces.
Those scones do look yummy, I'd have one with tea anytime.
Judith
I am longing for that weather....and those dishes! You started me collecting blue and white and now I have enough to hang on the wall. That is a project that I am almost ready to start, and I will be sure to show you when it;s done:>)
ReplyDeleteWith this cold Texas weather we are having you at least brightened it with your lovely dishes. I love all of them. I also enjoy cranberries just about anyway. Save me one of your good looking scones.
ReplyDeleteThese dishes are so beautiful, BJ and I love the little pitcher that holds the cutlery. So, so pretty. I also love to see cutlery in a container like that on a shelf. Hugs, Deb=^..^=x5
ReplyDeleteBJ, I'm dropping back by to ogle your china and to wish you a Happy Tablescape Thursday! Love you, lady...
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)

I think I may go and have a cup of your tea :)
Oh yes those Liberty Blues are sure pretty ones. I don't remember seeing them in the grocery stores, but it was amazing what they used to do as store incentives. Joni
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are beautiful and the tea canister is wonderful. You set a beautiful table and those scones, well when are we having tea? Blessings, Debbie

Oh how pretty -- I can't wait for some outdoor weather! Love those pretty dishes (I don't remember them either)
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely blue tableware, and it looks so nice in that fall setting. I wondered if the leaves were real too!
ReplyDeleteI don't know which I enjoyed more, seeing your beautiful dishes or seeing a warm fall day. We are dropping into single digets and we are freezing here too!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks outstanding...can't wait until Spring gets here...I'm not a Winter gal at all! Tell your hubby thanks for pulling for us on Monday night...it worked...WE WON:)

I adore any kind of blue and white, but these dishes are espescially pretty.Vintage blue and white always seems so cozy-perfect for these cold days.
ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful collection, BJ, and you use them so creatively!
ReplyDeleteStay warm, we are snowed in, but at least we got our power back. It was mighty chilly without heat!
When I got married, my first set of dishes was very similar to these...and I can't believe I got rid of them after a few years for something more modern!! ACK!!! What I'd do to get them back now. lol I just love your pictures, the background and leaves add to the beauty of this set. Count yourself lucky that I don't live nearby, I'd be at your place every day expecting tea and dessert all served in your beautiful dishes:-) xoxo
