CHRISTMAS THRIFTING...

You would THINK that during this busy time of the year,
I would lay off going to the thrift stores....
YOU WOULD THINK !
but....every time I look at these ADORABLE
Pottery Barn pieces I found a couple weeks ago,
I keep thinking...
"What if?"
Some of you might remember these large BRASS candlesticks I found....
thrifting...
...after painting them a great black..
they looked very VERY close to
POTTERY BARN'S on your left...
my painted beauties on your right...
WELL....
I found ANOTHER the other day, and this one was $1.25 with 25% off....
so, after the hustle and bustle
of Christmas is over...
it, too, will become a beautiful shade of black.
gimme a high five !!
I
I found this beautiful, huge white tureen, complete with ladle.
I think it was $2.00 with 25% off.
Everything in the thrift store
that day was 25 % off..
CRAZY !
I guess most people would have just passed her by....
but I just love her...
go figure !!
I'm convinced it's the HAIR I love so much...
no...wait...
maybe that adorable mouth....:)
...and I am really lovin' my two little thrifted
CHRISTMAS TREES
with the trio of adorable BLACK AND WHITE thrifted cups.
My black and white checked bow may not look too
CHRISTMAS-E
on my thrifted wreath...
but...
I LIKE IT.
Ain't life grand !
MERRIEST CHRISTMAS EVER...
I am linking with
and since all these things were BORING until I made them BETTER, I am
linking with
THANKS to all the lovely hosts.

  1. Oh, I understand thrifting during the height of the Christmas rush! I'm doing it tomorrow with a dear friend. She and I took my dear, little mother thrifting the other day and had such fun. I found a few things - mostly little Christmas-y things. I just love your little gal. Maybe I identify with her hair! Your finds are gorgeous and I think I'll start looking for tall candleholders to spray. Mine will be off-white! When I find them I'll be sure you get to see them.

  4. Oh BJ...what a difference a little paint can make! Those candle sticks look wonderful and the last one you found will be perfect once you paint it. Great job! I love all your 'treasures' you found at the Thrift Shop...I think they were calling your name especially those black and white cups and saucers. Once the holidays are over I'm heading into the city to check out Goodwill! I hope you and your hubby and family have a very Merry Christmas and all the best to you for a healthy happy New Year.

  6. I do not know how you find time to do all this at this busy time of the year. Too, it is a wonder you were able to find this many neat things. After the holidays, I am going see what is left. I have my immediate family that live only a few miles from me. I will be spending it with them in Haslet, Texas. Just a little North of me toward Denton. Merry Christmas BJ and thanks for all your visit and comments.

  15. You have found some beauties at the thrift store...it is amazing what a coat of spray paint will do to make it tie in to your present decorations. That wooden gal with the cork screw hair is adorable...don't blame you for snatching it up.

    Merry Christmas.

  17. BJ,
The things that would "take my breath away" for Christmas would be time with my family followed by snow covered ground. The later is "bittersweet" (My husband works for the Highway. . .which would take him away for the day!). You find the neatest "thrifting items"! The wooden angel and I are twins at this time. . .got to get ready for my circle JOY meeting tonight. Have a Merry Christmas... your visit warmed my heart today. Thank you , dear friend!
    Fondly,
    Pat
P.S. I'll be waiting for that bedroom make~over post in the New Year. It will be gorgeous!

  30. I went this morning and found 2 lovely snowman plates for 25 cents each. You find much nicer things but I think it's because your brain processes what you want to do with them. My brain, my hubby, processes "what do you want those for"...lol....
