INSPIRATION..
I don't know what I'd do without it...
My whole cottage would be nekked, for sure.
I use photographs of beautiful rooms
or just about everything...
tables..
hutches
pictures on the walls.
I don't know what I'd do without it...
My whole cottage would be nekked, for sure.
I use photographs of beautiful rooms
or just about everything...
tables..
hutches
pictures on the walls.
I've had this photo in MY INSPIRATION FILE
for several years now.
It was in a decorating magazine but can't remember just which one.
*
I just fell in love with THE LOOK..
ESPECIALLY
that amazing shelf.
*
THE BEFORE..
I found this little tiny, kind of ugly shelf at GOODWILL (hip hip hooray x3)
for only $3.00...
Oh, it's not NEARLY large enuf..I really want a much bigger one.
but my table is sitting beneath my two very large rooster pictures
so I can't use a WALL shelf in that space..
SOOO...
I decided even just "a hint of a shelf" would work....for now.
I just started layering thing on that teeny tiny shelf...
AFTER all...remember that an INSPIRATION photo
doesn't have to be copied COMPLETELY...
we just want them to GUIDE us along on...
THE LOOK.
THE AFTER...
change..change...change...
I can just add or take away things to my heart's content..
Seems to me that something like this little shelf just adds interest
to an otherwise flat surface.....
to an otherwise flat surface.....
...just hung my vintage brass keys from a jute string...
I just LOVE that simple things like
jute string..
burlap...
feed and grain sacks...
are so popular to decorate with now.
How much I like the more natural, simple things to decorate with.
ANOTHER AFTER...
SEE....things are changing in almost all the pictures..
lol
My little corner of my living room doesn't look at ALL like the inspiration photo...
but it gave me good ideas...
and it's not just like everyone elses...
and I am looking HI and LO
for a black and white checked slipcover for this parson chair.
Wouldn't that be so cute !
*
I have a catalog SOMEWHERE with one in it..
I had it marked, ready to order...
and now I can't find my catalog...bwaaaaa
*
I'm just gonna go fix my sad self my favorite kind of sundae...
and..don't cha know that would be
hot fudge....
OH HONEY...
UMMM...I know the Angels in Heaven have this for their dessert...
hmmm...it's almost 5 here...
wonder what we'll be having for dinner..
for some reason....I'M NOT HUNGRY..
If you haven't tried
Mizz PAULA DEEN'S
Sweet and Salty Pecans,
for your ice cream topping,
you are MISSIN' OUT...

Love shelves like that on a table or counter...fun. Those keys are great too.
ReplyDeleteI was going to connect you with Cindy at Applestone Cottage but I saw you already follow her. I thought of you instantly when I saw her black and white adorable table!
ReplyDeleteThat is tiny shelving and that much cuter because of the size. It looks great. I love the look of your blog all white and fluffy! I wish we could keep that snow only on the blogs...it certainly is pretty!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty. I love black and white fabrics, and wood pieces so this is a winner to me.
ReplyDeleteI lake it, beautiful new look!!!
ReplyDeleteKisses.
What? You ate that whole sundae without sharing any with ME???? Tsk, tsk, tsk! hehe I just love what you did with that little shelf, and as you say so many possibilities to change it whenever the mood strikes you. I can just picture it at Christmas time:-) I get a lot of my ideas from magazines. When I was renovating my living room to look Victorian, you don't know how many magazines I had looked at for ideas! lol xoxo
ReplyDeleteI happen to like the size of your shelf better, actually. I think it has far more interest. LOVE the stacked black and white cups and saucers!
ReplyDeleteBrenda

Hi BJness! Oh, I love your inspiration picture but I love your real life picture better. Your little shelf is just perfect and you sure did not want to cover up those lovely Rooster pictures! You really know how to decorate and I hope you can find your catalog so you can order the slipcover!
ReplyDeleteThere you go...making my hungry! :)
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I don't know why, but as soon as I got here I had to run to the bathroom! :)
ReplyDeleteYour room is every bit as nice as the insp pic. And I thought you were mad at Paula cause she said Southerners don't use white gravy!
Your shelf is lovely.
ReplyDeleteThat shelf is divine! I, too, collect ideas in folders, although not as faithfully as I used to. I get stuck in ruts and it's hard to get me out, but you've renewed me. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat simple pleasure!
Your shelf is really nice, and you have some wonderful treasures displayed on it, BJ. What a great price you snagged that for too!! Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteI love small shelves and wall cupboards with tiny nooks and spaces. They can be useful for storage but look great unadorned too. Yours is lovely! blessings..Trish
ReplyDeleteI love the creativity you have...the flair of putting things in such a way - wow. the shelf does look great and everything beautiful....
ReplyDeleteway better than *flat* and three bucks!! oh honey is right. send some of that fudge and pecan love my way!!! LOL.
ReplyDeleteIt is just not fair. That one person could have so many pretty things, be so creative and talented. I do believe you could turn a mud pie into something pretty. I love your home and the things you share.
ReplyDeleteI think your version is wonderful! I love that your shelf has little cubbies for displaying tiny treasures in. Much more interesting than just straight shelving! And you've decorated it beautifully. You've definitely got a knack! Happy VTT!
ReplyDeleteYour little inspiration photo is the gift that keeps giving, BJ. I say that because I'm going to save this in my OWN inspiration file because I just plain like the look of it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE your "after" shots.
And I totally think this is a great simple pleasure.
I love both before and after photos and that Sundae sure looks good too ...thanks for sharing
