This is one of my ALL TIME favorite oil painting in the whole, wide, entire world...
Isn't it breathtaking !!

What a beautiful talent GOD gave to Mr. Richards.
Someone told me once, a long time ago, that they thought HEAVEN was a place where you could do all the things you ever wanted to do...if that's true...please let me be able to paint a basket of peaches like this....!!
Now I know this isn't what HEAVEN is all about........or......is it ?
A loaf of good bread and some good peaches makes for a SCRUMPTIOUS breakfast....
Yes! Ma'am!
Throw in a little butter and brown sugar and we're talkin' opera singing being heard in the background.....
..THEN add a cup or two of the fabulous DUNKIN DONUT coffee and we bypass OPERA and hit a PARADE MARCHING BAND....
Make your FRENCH toast as you normally do...I like the thicker breads for mine.
Melt your butter and a LITTLE brown sugar to pour over the fresh peaches that you've sliced over the toast.
TOO much sugar will turn hard and crunchy...which I like a LITTLE of ...but not too much...
I like my brown sugar topping warm and runny....*sigh...

It's bound to be GOOD FOR THE SOUL to start your day with such a delicious treat....

I'm using PUMPKINS, LANTERNS AND FALL LEAVES
for a very informal CENTERPIECE
for this breakfast FOR ONE....

When you take that LUSCIOUS, JUICY, FULL OF FLAVOR first bite,
you bypass that ole marching band
and start riding
THE HALLELUJAH TRAIN, BABY...!

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you yesterday. Were your ears burning? I was thinking about all the fantastic food you show. And I'm trying to lose weight. Get the connection? When one is trying to lose weight (probably something you haven't had to deal with), they always, ALWAYS think about food. I love that painting!

ReplyDeleteIt is breathtaking! I had never seen this painting before.
ReplyDeleteSo is everything you shared with us; that bread; I can almost smell and taste it.
Reminds me when we'd go to our grandmother's in Rome GA and have peaches. We'd just each them from the bushel barrel and the juice would drip down our hands. Of course, they have nice peaches in north Louisiana too. I'm going Pink; I'm a newbie, will hear from Beverly soon. I'm having trouble with comments; hope this isn't a duplicate for you.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post dear BJ! I know when I visit here something wonderful will be waiting.:o) Everything looks absolutely delicious! I just sat here gazing at those peaches for the longest, they look so good!:o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing. Happy week to you dear friend.
