THIS is one reason I have had trouble wanting to decorate for FALL...
Some of my flowers are still getting enough SUNSHINE that they are
blooming like crazy...
and they are SOOO pretty.
*
When you have blooms this colorful and vivid
it's just hard to think of browning, falling leaves..
*
*
A beautiful fall day...
plenty of sunshine and shadows....
I have 8 BURFORD HOLLY bushes and they are
filling up fast with beautiful
RED HOLLY BERRIES.
*
By CHRISTMAS TIME, I will be able to have
large bunches of the pretty RED berries and glossy green, pointed leaves to
put in pretty glass JARS...
or white Ironstone pitchers....
making CHRISTMAS TIME even more festive...
I DO LOVE A RED AND WHITE CHRISTMAS...
*
Has anyone read this book by KATHIE TRUIT ?
I've had it awhile but am waiting until I can cuddle in front of the fireplace to enjoy it...
*
*
I decided to have my afternoon snack out in the
porch swing...
*
Peanut Butter and Ritz Crackers...
They have always been a favorite snack of mine..
any kind of fruit with them just puts them over the top...
*
I'd not been out too long when I decided that the
bright sunshine wasn't nearly as WARM as it looked...
so I went back inside and found a nice warm THROW...
muuuch better !!
*
THEN..
that great glass of ICED TEA
sure made me cold...just to LOOK at it..
So BACK into the house to exchange that iced tea
for a nice hot cup of
DUNKIN DONUT COFFEE....
*
It's about time to move these pretty flowering plants INSIDE...
but for now...
I am just going to enjoy a beautiful afternoon
on the porch...
in the swing...
just a 'swangin'....

ReplyDeleteHi BJ, I have missed you girl. Life is just too busy these days. This post is cute and I wish I had a porch swing. I'm on the lookout for a fall bargain. Your flowers are still pretty. It is crazy but so are mine. I have covered them when frost threatened. It will not be long before all flowers will be history.

Good Morning BJ! I'm so glad you changed your cold drink for some hot coffee...it made me cold just looking at it even if it did look good brrrr LOL! It hasn't froze here yet but it looks like Thursday night we're going to get frost...guess that means I better get my tomatoes brought in...sigh. I haven't seen that book but I'm looking forward to 'seeing' what you think of it. Enjoy your flowers while you can and have a wonderful day.

The snack consists of a sweet ruby (grapes) to counterbalance the salty peanut butter. A wonderful treat! Enjoy the heat now, as I guess that the cold winds will soon the west Texas plains. Nice blooms at this late date in the year...

What a wonderful tea tray BJ!! My Mom had holly bushes when we grew up in Southern CA. I need to see if they will grow here in NE. I remember my Mom always covering the mantle with holly at Christmas. Sweet memories :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings!

We are still having warm weather and lots of blooming flowers here too! Today is starting out nice and cool, so I am hopeful! I'm a new follower from Ruby Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteOh,BJ I opened up your site, and just smiled! The song just picked me right up! How I love that song! I left it on for several repeats. lol
ReplyDeleteThere nothing more enjoyable than peanut butter crackers! I can see you swanging on your porch munching on crackers and grapes! Love the Tea, but the coffee will warm you up on a chilly fall day! Love the flowers it the same here, my roses are still blooming and other flowers. So I going to try to get fall into the house. lol If I can get it in some kind of order, hubby says we have a major disaster, stuff everywhere from our daughter and her two little ones in with us. Oh, but we will make it. Doc said I should be better in a month, well that was 2 weeks ago, I have fallen and had two more accidents. Still can't get my strength back up. Hopefully soon. I did feel it rise with listening to one of my favorites songs here! lol
I want some of that cracker and grapes
ReplyDeleteSpider Man and Minnie Mouse
