HERE it is....THE DAY BEFORE HALLOWEEN

Several friends asked me to repost this Halloween tidbit
so here 'tis....

This has always been one of my favorite holidays...
I so enjoyed it as a kid.....then...with my kids...and now.....GRANDkids...
**

My mother and my AUNT LILLIAN always dressed me up as a gypsy woman...
A scarf around my long black hair, lots of eye makeup and lipstick
.Oh, I was lovin' this at the age of 7 and 8....
*
lots of jewelry, long skirt.....I felt just beautiful.....
*******
"The day is often associated with orange and black, and is strongly associated with symbols like the jack-o'-lantern. Halloween activities include trick-or-treating, wearing costumes, ghost tours, bonfires, costume parties, visiting haunted attractions, carving jack-o'-lanterns, pranking people, reading scary stories, and watching horror movies."
*******
Yes, I always dressed like a gypsy woman....i always thought they were so pretty....
****
BUT...FOR THIS PARTY....

......IT'S SUPERGIRL....with the shapely legs and tiny feet.....
****

MISS LUCY LOOSE is our guest of honor at this HALLOWEEN table...
come on it and join us before a nice, warm fire in the FRANKLIN wood burning stove...
We have our table right in front of the fire so you will stay warm...it turned COLD
out here in West Texas...
(well, for THIS day, anyway..a cold front blew thru and right on to somewhere else)
this was in 2009

I've set the table in the grandest of HALLOWEEN magicalness....
NEVER, NEVER anything scary....OH, NO...NEVER SCARY !!

We like "fun and colorful"
for HALLOWEEN....
********

OH, here's MARSHMALLOW, our live in GHOST-WANNA-BE...
we're so glad you could come and join in this fun party, MARSH.....
***
MARSH chose a chair right in front of that roaring, comfy fire....
and check out that ghostly smile....he is SO happy to be here...and warm!!
He is usually hanging around out on the front porch at this time of year...
****

EXCUSE ME, Miss Lucy....it is VERY impolite to
READ AT THE TABLE...
especially when there's a ghostly guest...
this IS a party, you know.
Even if you are reading a really great magazine..COUNTRY LIVING with some of the BEST Halloween recipes in it...
IT WILL HAVE TO WAIT....!!
***I hope you like the ceramic pumpkin I bought last year at WALGREEN...
*

AHHH HA!! I am so glad to see you put away the magazine and have made friends with MARSH....
***
We are all so glad you came by...
We all hope YOUR Halloween is safe and
fun ....
love, bj

Good Morning BJ Sweetie...
Oh my goodness gracious this is so stinkin cute. I just love this post. I am so happy you put this one up, you have me laughing and smiling this morning. Girl if we lived next door, I would be happy as a clam, laughing and sharing with you all the time.

I love the little witch and the ghost is to cute. But I have to tell you nobody, and I do mean NOBODY sits a table as elegantly and holiday(ish) as you do my dear. I love this setting, and I can feel the warmth from the fire this morning. Girl, I have so enjoyed my visit. The napkins and silverware, plates and pumpkins, everything is so absolutely delightful. I just love it.

Thank you for making my Halloween a little more fun and a lot more delicious. Your are such a doll.

Many hugs and so much love, Sherry

The way you throw a party, regardless of occasion, you do it up right. I probably would like Halloween a lot more at your house. You are something else, and I love every minute of it.

I can see why you were asked to repeat this darling blog.. I love that you dressed as a gyspy..I remember going to a Halloween party when young and they had a tent set up with a gyspy fortune teller...we girls loved that.

Thanks for sharing it again.

I love that witch, BJ! I am dressing up as a witch. When my littlest grandson saw my picture online, he told his mommy I was an elephant witch. He said see, there's her trunk...it was my hat! He also said I wuv gamma. Made me smile!

I was a gyspy a time or two when I was a kid.
Happy Halloween!

So much fun. I have a big witchy girl like that too...my parents brought her to me in the hospital a few years ago when I had my gallbladder out just before Halloween. Can you imagine...other people got flowers, my gift needed a bed of her own!

BJ- You've got yet another fun table to add to your collection of tablescapes!! How cute. Love Miss Lucy- and yes, you should reprimand her for reading at the table. Young ladies, even witches, should practice good manners. Happy Halloween, my friend. xo Sue

Halloween

The night is dark
and the goblins are out,
and the witches and black cats
are prowling about.

And costumed creatures
the strangest I've seen,
are knocking on doors
'cause tonight's Halloween!

Happy Halloween dear BJ:-) You have such wonderful guests at your table and I wish I could be sitting right there next to them!! Your table setting is so delightful, I just love the way you decorate!

Due to ongoing living room renovations, I haven't been able to take out all of my Halloween decorations but at least I did get my 100 lb pumpkin carved! lol

Have a fun day and hope you get lots of little trick or treaters coming by:-) xoxo
