Frost on the Pumpkin this morning...

Well, there really wasn't frost on the pumpkin this morning but it was forty-seven degrees...
A great big brrrrr !!
I'm pretty sure it is just a front moving through and it will be warmer tomorrow..
Picked up a new OLD little coffee or tea set at GOODWILL the other day..

Seemed about perfect to have a big slice of STRAWBERRY CREAM CAKE...
*

*

Always a good spot for coffee and dessert...
in my olden blue chair...
I am such a brave girl to keep showing you these hideous blue chairs and ottoman....
Will I EVER get to replace them ?
Actually, I DOUBT it...seriously...unless someone is moving and doesn't want to take two beautiful,
black and white twin chairs PLUS ottoman with them and puts them on CRAIGS LIST for an unbelievable price....and they have MY name stamped on the bottom...... *sighhhh
I had no idea I caught the elusive
blue hour.....

I just got my new SOUTHERN LIVING and can't wait to sit down
with this STRAWBERRY cake, a hot cup of Dunkin Donut coffee
and pour over this amazing magazine..

Beeeej! I love your olden chair. They are the best kind, aren't they??? They fit us just right. I am having my evening decaf right now as I am typing. Starbuck's for me, but they have Dunkin' Donuts at the hospital for my Dad's Tuesday visit. Yep, we get a coffee and split a chocolate frosted donut! Almost makes that 2-1/2 hr trip worth it. His head is healing, thank the Lord.

After the week, weekend, and then MONDAY that I have had, nothing looks any more comfortable than your blue chair and ottoman.

I could sink right down with that magazine, tea set, and cake and just relax!!!

Probably not to be, though, so I'll vicariously experience it on your blog.

Beautiful as always... my life is so hectic right now, it's like a vacation stopping in to see you :)

A chair is like a pair of jeans they don't get comfortable until they get some wear... dessert and Southern Living, it doesn't get any better than that :)

We have one of those chairs in my family room also :) It's THE brown recliner and everyone that comes to our home wants to sit there, rock and veg out. Those kinds of chairs, the broke in ones, are the best.

Wish I could join you for strawberry cake and coffee. Yum!

That strawberry dessert looks simply divine!

You know, there's nothing wrong with older furniture. It houses all the memories and stories of your family that a new piece of furniture just can't do (ok, that might just be me trying to talk myself out of wanting a new couch myself)!

I could totally go for that delicious dessert, a cup of strong coffee and magazines in that cozy chair. I'm feeling it! Nice to meet you. New blogger visiting from Nifty Thrifty Tuesday.

Oh BJ that looks SO GOOD! I love the dishes you found..you find the nicest things. It's been chilly here too but looks like it's going to warm up a bit for the next few days. I'm just not ready for cold weather yet! Those chairs are so comfy looking...wish we lived closer cause I'd sure put them to good use here in the cottage. Good luck finding the perfect ones for you. Have a wonderful Tuesday.

BJ, I love that big silver tray that you have your place setting on. What pretty dishes and that cake sure looks good. I drink the same coffee. It's the best.

BJ~ wouldn't it be fun to have that delightful treat together? I would love to sit in your blue chair and eat and chat with you... even on a morning when there was nearly some early frost!
YUMMY!

Oh to be chilly and visiting with you while we eat a piece of your dessert! Unfortunately we were sweating it out at around 90 yesterday. What happened to my fall? Your chairs look great. Besides, if you get tired of the same old thing, that's why God made slipcovers.

The first photo with your china cabinet in the background is just gorgeous. You know how I love those china cabinets. I'm out looking for a white one these days. Every time I take a peek at your blog I get hungry. Have a great day, BJ.

-giggles- Oh BJ, you are so funny. "Frost on the pumpkin", at 47 degrees!

-more giggles- Oh you *Southern gals* are so dellllllllicate. ,-)))) 47 is not cold. :-))))))

Takes a *Damn Yankee* to show you real morning cold!

OK! I'm just giggling at you and taking advantage of your Southern sensibilities. No hard feelings Hon.

Of course not. I know we both love to tease and have fun, in 'Pretty Blog Land.' :-)))))

Gentle hugs...
From Someone who has been turning her heat on in the mornings for a little while, for a few days, though. ,-) Shushhhh, don't tell! >,-)

I like your chair, nothing wrong with it!
What a pretty set you picked up, just lovely!
And the cake looks delicious too!
Beautiful day today, but bad storms last night! bolts flying through the air!
Enjoy your mag, BJ. I took it for a year so I could understand my Southern Blogger friends better, LOL. Not really, got it for 5 bucks for the year so I gave it a try!

Dear, sweet BJ. I think everything looks beautiful and so welcoming - and yummy.

I was just perusing that very Southern Living last night.

You know what they say about the frost on the pumpkin?

The tray is just beautiful, BJ, and of course I am wishing I were there to share that lovely piece of cake. You must bake a lot!

I love your chair and ottoman...everyone should have a nice comfy chair and I think it's pretty! :-)

BJ-I was actually thinking how pretty your chair looks in this post. It actually looks gray, not blue in the pictures (at least to me)! I get excited every time I get my Southern Living too...so fun.

Very oooey, gooey recipe on my blog today. Your family might enjoy it!

Call me crazy, but I think your chair and ottoman are pretty! I think we get so used to the way our homes look, start to think everything looks old and needs to be changed, and other people walk in and love everything! I see the flaws in my home, but people who visit always tell me it is pretty and charming. They don't see the parts I want to change! Still, you never know when Craigs list is going to come up with something fabulous, you just have to keep an eye out for it:>)
