FELLOWSHIP FUN at SWEET NOTHINGS

ALONG with our regular
we have belonged to a HOME FELLOWSHIP GROUP
for the last 3 years.
Oh, how we love our group...
*
One of the things that we do every single solitary SUNDAY evening is
break bread
with each other in the form of a DELICIOUS meal..
*
Whomever is hosting that Sunday decides what the fare will be.
Then each family brings a dish to compliment the meal..
*
and...we have the most luscious desserts..usually from 3 to 5 or 6.
YUM !
*
We are having it at our home ...
and we are grilling wieners  for
hot dogs...
*
some will bring buns, cheese, chili, relish, onions....chips, dips...
AND DESSERTS...
*
I am trying these little FALL cakes and
this recipe calls for a SPICE cake mix and a can of PUMPKIN...
nothing else..
no eggs, milk...no nuthin'.....
Now, someone...some blogger posted this recipe and, for the very life of me,
I can NOT remember just who.
So sorry...
*
Cute little rubbery pan I picked up at HOBBY LOBBY..half price..
Do I spray it?
I DID...
GOOD THING...
*
KATHLEEN'S little cakes always look MARVELOUS...
She isn't feeling well and I would LOVE it if YOU would go over
and leave her a little bloggy luv...she would love it, too. :))
*
Well, this looks KIND of like a maple leaf...
but not really anything to write home about...:(

... those in front look a little like pumpkins.

But,  when I poured the yummy icing on,
YOU CAN'T TELL IF THERY ARE PUMPKINS, LEAVES,
ROCKS, GOLF BALLS, OR WHAT !!
*
WHY GO TO ALL THE TROUBLE OF MAKING THOSE LITTLE SHAPES...?
**
My  point exactly !!
**
But they did taste really good...
I will make a BUNDT cake next time, tho....

I have seen a recipe like this somewhere too and have not tried it...it sounds delicious! Too bad about the shapes...but as long as they taste good...that is what people really care about.

Good morning BJ:>)
I have tried that recipe with chocolate cake mix, it's pretty good and much lower fat, yay! I love the idea of a home fellowship. Our church does adult bible fellowships, like Sunday school, but we have parties and try to get together a few times a year. I have been thinking about starting a hospitality ministry at our church next year. I think it is wonderful to forge deeper relationships through hospitality

What fun!! We have a home Bible study/fellowship in our home also that meets once and week and I have to play bouncer *smile* to get them out of my home. I love playing hostess and always feed my 'extended family' but usually just treats. We also host game nights or special occasion dinners, but again, usually at my house. As I'm typing this I realize I tend to be the social director. Hmmmm....

I love the idea of a rotating meal. That sounds like so much fun, and fellowship over a meal is always a great way to foster good relationships. Lucky you!

I think it is wonderful to have such good friends and to eat together each week. As for your cakes...laughing at that one! My recipe that only has cake mix and pie filling is a different texture than a regular cake. You might try using a regular cake mix in the little pans and they would have more structure to the shapes. I'm sure they were very good!

Thanks BJ, I added it to my blog. Like Rick Perry for Governor - not bad on the eyes either! Have a great week!
