WE'RE HAVIN' A HEAT WAVE........

REPOSTING TO CORRECT LINK!

WHOA....
it has REALLY been HOT around WEST TEXAS
since the RAINS stopped...
Our temps have been down a little but now it's hot again....
*

I bought a basket of the best KEY LIMES to make SOMEthing cool..

Little tiny muffins sounding so so good...!
Just looking at all this KEY LIME color is making me a little bit cooler...

you, too ??

**
Knock Knock...Who's there?...Lime!...Lime who?...Lime bean!

Little tiny bites of pure BLISS...
I do love the color LIME GREEN...
AND I do love KEY LIME..ANYthing !

These little tiny bites of goodness are just COVERED in
CREME CHEESE, KEY LIME JUICE AND POWDERED SUGAR...
GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY !
.....just say'n
*
I fixed us a pretty tray and let's head out to the
PORCH SWING ...
**
NOW, I have to tell you, just in case you don't know....
I AM TOTALLY IN LUV WITH MY PORCH SWING..
I. JUST. LOVE. IT....
ahhh, but you already knew that !!
:))
**
I can't grow HYDRANGEAS out in my part of the country..
Too hot, dry, windy and my thumb is BIG TIME BROWN...
I'll tell you someone that CAN grow them and grow them BEAUTIFULLY..
my sweet friend, KATHLEEN ...her's have been just breathtaking all summer.
*
I bought these pretty BLUES at the market, in the clearance rack for $3.00...
In this heat, they won't last 15 minutes but.........
*
My little PINK KNOCKOUT roses are doing GREAT, tho....
;>)
*
I tried and tried to make my slices of Key Limes look pretty like YVONNE does but...
they didn't TWIST just the way I wanted them to...
~~~~
"come on let's TWIST...like we did last summer..."
*
I think I sliced them too thick...next time, I'll slice them thin thin...
or, is there another trick?
**
*
I KNOW ya'll are looking at that CUP back there....
and saying...THAT is NOT a TEA cup....
You are right...I needed something LIME and I also
LOVE drinking a HARDY tea out of a HARDY cup every now and then !
*
These TWO things....
*
the candle....
and the hot CUP of tea...
*
are making me HOTTER by the minute...by the second !!
*
*
I'm so hot, I'd put on a swim suit
IF I COULD EVER LOOK JUST LIKE
MARILYN...
**
"IN YOUR DREAMS, bj "
*
But, with my OLDEN figure, I would have to put one of these
1920 wool suits on to cover up my
HAIL DAMAGE....
(actually, I think these BATHING BEAUTIES are just PRECIOUS!)
*
Believe me....a 72 year old body does NOT want to be seen in a SWIM SUIT of ANY kind....
just the thought of TRYING ONE ON makes me break out in a cold sweat !!
I just glanced at a rack of them hanging in the store the other day and got a spastic colon....
"Things" just seem to be ......uh......falling !! :))
My boobs are not where they SHOULD be...and I can't even TALK about where my booty is hanging....
**
SOOO...
*
I just BLEW out that candle...
took away that
HOT CUP OF TEA
*
and made myself
another of my favorite
SHERBET and GINGER ALE....
YES, MA'AM....
**
AHHHH......
MUCH BETTER!!
**********
OH...and does that LIME, inside my glass,
look a LITTLE like or WHOLE BUNCH like a
BIG MOUTHED MONKEY to you ??...;-)
**
Ya'll do whatever it takes to ....
STAY KOOL...
**************
Linking with :
THANK YOU TO ALL THE HOSTS.
*NOTE...since the preparation of this post, our temps have cooled off considerably and
things are MUCHO more comfy....:)
***
IF YOU HAVE EXTRA TIME THIS WEEK (what's THAT?)....
YOU MIGHT ENJOY GOING OVER TO
BEVERLY'S PINK SATURDAY list of some
WONDERFUL BLESSINGS...
I didn't get to visit nearly as many as I wanted to...
but plan to do more through the week.
You're so clever! And it does look like a monkey. It's hot here in Colorado, too. Enjoy the new week. Sally
I see monkeys too! Is that a good thing??? Your cupcakes look great and I'm hoping to be out of the soup in a couple weeks myself! Wanted to let you know that I picked up my own funky chicken yesterday at Ross-lovin' it!
LOL!! I had to go back and look again, it does look like a monkey!
It's hot in S.C. too and the humidity is a bear.
Gave up swim wear myself.It was either that or walk upside down on my hands. Hope you get a cool front. The lime treats look delicious!
I love all that you put into your posts. I look at it....and then look at it again. Don't want to miss all the details. I so love muffins but they have to be home-made. Why is that? You just can't beat them. I think your porch-swing is so pretty and I would like to see a pic of you swinging, BJ. Have a great week and hope it cools off a little. It is very hot here in Ontario, Canada too. Hugs, Deb =^..^=x5
Sherbet and ginger ale ... oh, my .. it's been years since I've had that! Yum! Loved your limes. There is something about limes and lemons that is cooling and isn't the heat awful?!!!!! Fun and lovely post.
Oh BJ Sweetie...
We sure are having a heat wave, even out here in Phoenix it is hotter than ****, well we better not say that, but it sure is hot out here.
Love the key lime muffins and boy does that pitcher of sherbert and lime stuff looks so tasty. You are always creating something good there in Texas. I am thinking maybe I need to relocate. What do you think?
Love the porch swing and hopefully sometime, someday we might have some nice temps that you can actually enjoy sitting out there without getting carried off by the army of mosquitos.
Oh sweetie, thanks so much for sharing this evening. I have so enjoyed myself, and I thank you for the beautiful setting. You are better than a snowball on the 4th of July.
Many hugs sweetie. Love, Sherry
Hi bj, this post is just too cute in lime and with limes. I love limes or any citrus. Your Photos are all so awesome. You sure do know how to catch a great shot of about anything. I think your cupcakes look delicious except I am on a diet...sort of. HA! Maybe it is the 'sort' of part that is the reason I am not losing any weight. Sigh.
Our weather has been perfect. I have spent most every day in the yard weeding and digging. UGH!! I haven't visited much this week. My hubby hates the yard stuff so who else is going to do the hard work. I actually love working in the yard.
Love ya, Jeanne
Wow those little cup cakes look good! The green does give one a cooling effect. Now, I have to tell you, it was only in the 60's here this morning....it will be in the 90's however (probably is NOW), but 60's in the morning...well, what a delight. I know what that cartoon meant about the humidity and heat causing undies to be soaked!!! NOT a nice feeling. Have a good day, BJ and have fun while you are at it.
I am trying not to rush..but Fall seems to go so quickly. Maybe it's because I mix it up with Winter..D'ya suppose?
Hugs to you bj! I LOVE your porch..the colors are beautiful.
Mine needs refreshing. Badly!
Sue said...
It does look like a monkey! I love key lime anything...mmm, one of my favorites.
My mom wore bathing suits until the end. She had 2 new ones hanging in the closet. She went to the pool every day. In Florida, everyone wears a suit...no matter what the age, shape or size!
HI, BJ, thanks for coming by. I really wish I could help you, but if this is something you've been doing all along in Blogger & now it's not working, I have no idea what could be wrong. I'm not on Blogger anymore, I'm on Wordpress. I hope you can figure it out, but I'm afraid I can't help. So sorry!
This post made me hungry! :)
Age does effect us. I have never owed a bathing suit. Had a fear of water for some reason. You find and come up with some of the best things to share. It will take more than a cool lime drink to cool things here. It has gotten below 100 though. It is always interesting to see what you will feature next. So glad you visit me and leave a nice comment.
Sandra said...
Funny post...love the lime and white polka dot bowls...I have a mixing bowl set that would match perfect. Hope it cools down for you in TX...we need the cool temps in AZ too.
Heidi said...
Hi BJ!
Well, you made me laugh! I love those little limes, just bought a bag of them the other day. But I would never have thought to make cupcakes with them, and key lime pie is my favorite so I know I'd love them! I saw the monkey in your sherbert drink, guess he needed to cool off!
Stop by for a visit sometime.
Cream cheese, confectioners sugar and limes - a perfect trifecta of taste, texture and beauty. What passes for HOT in New England is cool by comparison to West Texas!
Sue said...
you always have something yummy to show us, don't you? Limes are so refreshing.... Oh how I'd like a sherbet float! Takes me back to when I was a kid- orange sherbet in 7-Up. yum.....
It was hot here today and the heat is supposed to be back for the rest of the week. It's the humidity that is the problem, though. You drip the minute you walk outside. Stay cool, my friend...
hugs, Sue
