I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES....

A MIRACLE PARTY
I am posting this EARLY because I want as many folks to read it as possible..

This party is being hosted by our very own
Kelee at The Katillac Shack.
Please visit her for more details.
We'll be celebrating Colette,
and sharing stories of inspiration this Saturday
at Pink Saturday.
I hope you'll all join in the celebration
of hope.
The above was taken from HOW SWEET THE SOUND.
**********************************************************************
(The following MIRACLE was posted a few years ago....)
**
IT IS THE MOST UPLIFTING STORY IN MY LIFE.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Two of our precious grandsons each had their backs broken within a year of each other.BROOKS, 13 years old, a motorcycle accident, very serious, heartbreaking and heart-stopping for days, into weeks before we knew that he WOULD be okay, with time.
*
At first, the doctors said he may not even SURVIVE such trauma...
then, if he did, he might not walk again.
*
*I still cry, just reading this....each time I think of it...
and I still, and always will, give thanks to our Heavenly Father for his Mercy.
*
We spent many nights, pacing, crying, praying, stomping feet and back to praying....
I thought, that in my lifetime, my heart had hurt before but nothing ever hurt like this.
We all were so scared, we could barely breath.
He spent many weeks in the hospital and wore a back brace for a year.
Now, a little over a year later, he is doing so well, it brings me to my knees every single night and it will for the rest of my LIFE !!
***********************
UPDATE: NOV. '08 *HE AND HIS MOM returned from Dallas after another exam was done on Brooks..
He got an excellent report and doesn't have to go back for a whole YEAR...
We give thanks ! and all praise to GOD ..
and my heart is so full I can barely type...
UPDATE:
OCTOBER '09..Brooks is still doing good.
We are all so thankful we don't know what to do.
UPDATE as of August, 2010...
Brooks is a strong, healthy and MIGHTY good-looking 17 year old.
He has a slight hump on his back that will most likely stay with him
all his life but his doctors say his back is HEALTHY .
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The older brother, 16 years old, in a VERY serious automobile accident. Very serious broken back, cut his nose away from the top part of the lip....
another heartbreaking, heart- stopping few days, into weeks/months .
*
Our hearts were hurting so, we could barely speak, breath; we just sobbed and prayed, declared "why not ME?" and back to praying...we ALWAYS CAME BACK TO PRAYING.
*
He, too, IS GOING TO RECOVER. He is still in a back brace and will wear it for awhile longer. His nose barely has a scar now; the doctors did a fine job with the stitching.

*NOTE: NOV. 08 *ONE YEAR LATER...

he has recovered from both injuries and is doing very well..

UPDATE AUGUST, 2010

Drew still has a little weakness in his back...it has healed good, the doctors say, but his back seems to bother him at times of tiredness...it may take a little longer to strenghten and we all pray for him and his brother ALL THE TIME.
*

Every single morning, I wake up so thankful, so grateful, so full of life and joy that both of these fine young men that I love more than life itself, survived these accidents, came away still able to walk, still being able to plan on a full, smiling life....

and this is one of those mornings I just needed to talk about it and express, in writing, and to you, what I express to GOD every single day.

THANKFULNESS will follow me all the days of my life....

I DO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES....!!....AND I KNOW WHO PERFORMS THEM....

THERE IS NO DOUBT.

Thanks for posting the story about our miracles. It seems almost surreal as I look back on my sons accidents. I would have NEVER gotten a faith in the Lord like I have now, had not been for these two accidents. I felt God during these times like I never had before and that in itself is a miracle!

I can't imagine having this happen to 2 grandchildren at the same time. You did get 2 miracles...I'm so glad they are both doing well.

Oh BJ, this is so heartbreaking and so inspiring at the same time. I can imagine the anguish you felt while they were in the hospital beds and the first time you heard about the bad news and when the doctor told you that there could be no hope. I can't imagine being in that situation but I do believe in miracles too and I have a lot of faith in God and His power and goodness. I know the boys will continue to get better. God bless your whole family!....Christine

The Quintessential Magpie said...

BJ, I'm still on break, but I wouldn't have missed this praise report for anything in the world.

Do you know that Mr. Magpie broke his back in high school, too? He jumped off a thirty foot RR trestle into 3 1/2 feet of water and broke both ankles and his back (a compression fracture). The river where he was swimming was murky, and a sandbar had shifted underneath the bridge where people were used to jumping.

Two fishermen happened to be down below and got him into a boat and took him to the ER where my former boyfriend's father worked on him. He was an EXCELLENT doctor, and Mr. Magpie pulled through with flying colors. Broken backs can heal, and miracles do happen! I live with one! Giving thanks for that one and for the ones surrounding your precious grands.

Love you much...

XO,

Sheila :-)

I am so grateful for your kid-lings coming thru these experiences, all for the better.

Hello bj, I know your story of your grandsons has to be hard to write. Injuries like your grandsons had can be so damaging. A miracle indeed that both boys will lead a normal life. This is truly a blessing from God. I believe in prayers and the power prayer holds.

Thank you for sharing your miracle story. Collette needs a miracle to get through this cancer. With the many prayers being sent up in her name, I pray God's will is for her to live.

I hope this event brings lots of dollars to fund another mercy makeover for someone in need.

Blessings to your gr-sons and you and your family.

Love and hugs, Jeanne
