One of my favorite pieces is this ironstone GRAVY BOAT..I could not believe that I found it in a box of other dishes, in a thrift store,
for a dollar...
WHO would get rid of something this cute ??

I think, sometimes, when younger ones are cleaning out a grandmother's belongings,
this sort of thing just SLIPS THRU THE CRACKS...
I'm afraid someday, they will think back and be so so sorry they didn't keep it...

It is just SO WONDERFUL to know that we are "NOT ALONE" with our obsessions!!! Oh BJ I have a similar tub setting in my bathroom, stonewall and all,hehe... The tub is big enough for two SO your feet would NOT have to STICK OUT. BUT I'm not posing for a picture in it, hehe... I've been thinking of doing a scape in there, Hmmmm! now I'm a "Thinkin"!!!
I TOO LOVE,LOVE,LOVE all the white dishes, Remember my Mrs Blanding clip with the painters, to quote her, "Not antiseptic white BUT nothing but white"(or something like that). I do like off white...

OK BJ I looked it up and HERE it is, MRS BLANDING TO THE PAINTERS....
"Now the kitchen is to be white. Not a cold, antiseptic hospital white. A little warmer, but still, not to suggest any other color but white." I did have the antiseptic right,hehe!
It is contagious...I was so excited when I found the one's I wrote about today at that estate sale Saturday.
I think the young ones throw out things because they only want new!

I'm a little behind on blog visits again. Been so busy with my honey and his kids with so many activities! I'm loving it. And I love all those white dishes, so versatile, so crisp and cool too for summer, and always elegant. My sweetie and I found a coffee table at Goodwill this weekend for only $6, and we painted it white. Now he has something pretty for his home. Gotta love white!

I love that gravey boat what a find that was! I just sold all my red everyday dishes and bought the white dinner plates at Dollar Tree, bowls from Target and the salad plates from Big Lots...a very neat shade of whites they make together.

I love all of your white. Don't worry if it is a sickness, there are so many that have it we don't mind. I have to say I just think the picture of you and your husband on your 50th is the best picture, I love the casual pose.
I am about to join the crowd, I have been searching for some white dishes and havent found the right ones yet. They look so beautiful with everything!
