I'VE GOT

*******************************************************

I'm cleaning !!
and...i just hate cleaning, especially in the summertime..
*
CLOSE YOUR EYES.!!!..DON'T LOOK AT THIS....
messy closet....!!
*

Too many shoes I NEVER wear....
too many purses I NEVER carry...
*
.... bags for GOODWILL...
*
I BUY from GOODWILL...
I GIVE to GOODWILL....
*
sometimes, I think I am buying my OWN STUFF !!
.......PATHETIC !!
*

SHOWERS...
even though MR. SWEET and I both use TILEX SHOWER CLEANER
every single time we shower, (well...ok...maybe not EVERY time)
I have to scrub pretty often !!
*
We love our huge SHOWER HEAD...
our kids tease us that it's so big, we must get great tv reception !
*
But..hey...it's like standing in a soft, warm rain shower and don'tchaknow
I LOVE THAT !!
**

I think I was out of every single cleaning stuff...
and, yep...that's laundry folded there on the counter..

messy...cluttered kitchen....BUMMER ! Had to clean it all up and I would much rather have been outside in the yard....or fishing at the pond....or thrifting with my friends...or ANYthing but....

WASHING...DRYING...IRONING...
*
good grief !! LET ME OUTA HERE !!

and, THIS is REALLY me, ya'll....!!!
*

Well, I at LEAST got my kitchen all nice and tidy and ready for cookin'....

(I don't wanna talk about the closets !)

Every time I post a photo of my kitchen, they think this is a painting or something hanging above my stove...

It's a pass-thru window into our dining room... not to say that's how we GET IN THERE ! :))

NOW FOR THE.....

*

i found a yard sale
on the way to buy cleaning supplies....:O)
now, i ask u...
how lucky is that ?
*
PLEASE tell me that I am not the only person in the whole wide world that is
CLEANING and getting rid of STUFF
and going to yard sales AT THE SAME TIME !!!!!
i must be NUTS !
*
BUT LOOK....an olden sheet music holder..$2.00.
can anyone see this...o, i don't know...
spray painted HEIRLOOM WHITE, glazed a bit for contrast
and CHALKBOARD PAINT on the tray part ??
Used in the dining room for a MENU...
or on the front porch with WELCOME TO SWEET NOTHINGS...
I just can't wait to work on it...
*

...and this ole gal can't get enuf TRAYS..$1.00..
not silver..but silver plate...
"can you LUV silver plated trays, SHELIA ?"
Why you bet your little "WHAT'LL YOU HAVE TO DRINK ?, you can !!
*
AND..
I received the $20.00 STARBUCKS gift card that I was lucky enough to win from
our one and only, very lovely BETH over at BEYOND THE GARDEN GATE.
Thanks so very much, Beth.
I will take a grandgirl for coffee soon....thanks to YOU!! She loves those lattes...
******************
SEE...
my CLEANING DAY turned into an absolute FUN DAY after all....
ya gotta LOVE days like that !

Cute post! I love that you found an "old fashioned music stand." It looks just like the ones I used in HS. I wonder what that is saying about me? (grin)

That music stand is going to be so great when you fix it up! I can't wait to see it.
Hugs,

You really scored with that music stand!

What a great post. I'm with you on the cleaning. Some days I think I get into it, but it doesn't last long, believe me. About long enough for one room. I love your 'finds'. The music stand takes me back to grammar school ( a LONG time ago), and I love silver trays.

Goodness BJ, I hate cleaning too,(I am successfully avoiding it right this minute!) I have been cleaning out and taking things to Salvation Army, I took a van load friday and yes, I came home with a bag. But I found the prettiest linen blouse and a pair of capris. I needed them, really! You will have a great time spending that gift card with your grand:>) and I think your ideas for the music stand sound brilliant!

Hi BJness! Oh, I'm glad you had so much fun with your spiffing things up and then garage saleing! I love that olden music stand and I'm sure you were thinking of me when you bought it. :)
Now, I knew that was you with I saw that cute little thing in nothing but her apron and hills - yep, that's BJ I said to myself! :)
Okay, you must pop in to see me - you were my inspiration for a painting project. I stole one of your pictures from your blog and didn't ask for your permission! Hope it's okay! :)
Be a sweetie,
shelia ;)

Oh I love the music stand. Hey I have a regular one I had forgotten about, I know what I am going to do with that, a place to display my latest watercolor painting. Oh I love this blogging stuff. Such wonderful ideas and it was worth the post to see that cute little picture of you. Blessings

Housework does cause warts-that's why closets have doors!!! (and I am wart free!) Great finds at the yard sales-have fun :@)

The hubby and I spent half the day in the basement. Oh my goodness two giant boxes of thrift store giveaway and we have not even skimmed the surface. I have so much Princess House, so many dolls, so much of everything. I was thrifting yesterday. Bought three more dolls and found some cute mini things. A white hobnail vase and a tiny pink vase with flower design. I am going to be cleaning for a long time. I keep asking my hubby does he think we will live long enough to take care of all this?!?!? Oh and defrosting one of our freezers! We have two! That is a day job and a half! I think I buy my own stuff back too! LOl! I just gave a cute linen dress to the thrift store. I told the hubby I will be there next week buying it back! HA!Ha!I am tired. I need my rest. Maybe next weekend. We will start all over a gain! Hugs Anne

I do love your lovely yard sale items. Woo Hoo

I just spent the past two days cleaning, too! I love your humorous take on your own quirks!
Also - if you haven't tried the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser made especially for bathrooms - you should! We squeagie after each shower and still end ups with soap scum - Mr. Clean is my hero!

YOU are DOING WHAT?? OH...I would never do something like that...never! LOL You do believe me, don't you?
Do you ever want to just fall on your knees and thank the dear Lord for letting you know you are not alone in what you believe to be rather bazarre behavior? Well, that's how you just made me feel!
Lovin'hugs,
Mona :)

Good Morning BJ! Well I bet you feel good knowing that your house is all spick and span clean and now you've got time to 'play' again. LOVE that music stand and can't wait to see what you do with it! I love silver plate too...I sold a lot of mine when we moved from the old Victorian into the farm house...knew we wouldn't have room for it but I still kick myself for letting it go. Enjoy yours! Have a wonderful Monday...Maura :)

Good Morning BJ. I know I am guilty of purging and collecting stuff. I keep reminding mysself that it is only stuff and that helps me to purge. I love the thrill of the hunt. Yesterday I picked up the cutest radio (Miss Kitty) for my grandaughter for $7.00. It looks brand spanking new.
Love your find as well.

My sentiments exactly on the cleaning! It's hard to do in the summer, we want to be outside, when it's not roasting out! I love your idea with your music holder! Can't wait to see what you do with it!

G'morn, BJ ~ You always add such delight to ones' day with your writes! Anxious to see what you do do with that sheet music stand ... memories.

I hate cleaning, also, but one feels so much better when it is completed ... you can stand back & bask in the presence or orderly & clean ...

Have a lovely week!

I hate cleaning too, BJ, and that's why moving is good. I've tossed so much stuff that I actually have empty spaces!

I love your blues. That picture of you with the broom looks just like you.

Happy Blue Monday!

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who pulls up to GW and unloads my car with lots of items and then goes in and buys from them. Wish they would give me a store credit when I drop things off so I could then shop with it in the store:-)

Well, BJ, here I am just finished cleaning and waiting for the floors to dry and thought I'd check out a few MM posts.
Never has my cleaning day been the adventure of yours, that was so much fun!!
At least you're keeping the Goodwill going with your giving and buying, they must love you.
Have a great week.

What a fun post! My advice to you to make cleaning more fun...Think...if I get rid of stuff..I /can bring more in! lol I will never give up thrifting! It beats the high prices in the stores and I can have one of a kind items! Love the idea of the music stand. I especially love silver so I vote for buying more trays!Glad your day turned out fun!!!

Most of us have the same problems you do when it comes to housework and sales. I had my mop out and ready for a week and it just would not move. I will get it done in my time.

Gardening in a Sandbox said...

Can't say I love cleaning either but sometimes it does have to get done. Now you do not want anyone making a mess.

Sue said...

Great post. Sometimes I actually like cleaning...crazy right? I've been gone so much that when I got home last week I really wanted to clean my house and "make it mine" again. I do think winning a Starbucks card beats cleaning...and it never hurts to find a garage sale!

Mary said...

Oh dear BJ, what a cute post! I always wonder if I am buying my own stuff back at the thrift store, too. lol Thanks so much for sharing the fun at MM. I can't wait to see the finished music stand! :)

Neat! There is a town here called Manhasset, I wonder if the stand is from there? That would have been a long way for it to travel though!

Hello BJ, I am laughing right now because I cleaned my guest room closet and had the nerve to take photos. What a mess. I stuff everything in there. Then when company comes i run around like crazy trying to clean it up. Most of my company stays in the cabin but this weekend My daughter will be here. She saw it at grandkids weeks and said, "MOM, what a mess." So now it is neat but still full of stuff. LOL.

Love your yard sale finds. I know you will do something wonderful with the music stand.

My closet is next. Good Will, get ready. This kind of shopping goes full circle huh. I love it though!!!

Love ya, Jeanne
