I THINK APRONS JUST WRAP YOU UP WITH LOVE....

I. LOVE. APRONS

They are some of MY FAVORITE THINGS...
*
Sometime, when you have time, GOOGLE

"The History of Aprons..."
so cute !!

My mother sewed ALL the time...ALL our clothes !
There is absolutely NO telling how many aprons she made..!
*
My mother wore one every time she went into the kitchen.

I just wonder and wonder where all those aprons are...
garage sales, maybe...she had a lot of them.( a lot of aprons AND a lot of sales) :))

ROSEMARY ROLLS from MY kitchen...but I stole the recipe from A MYSTERY WOMAN..(shhhhh....)
I wish I had just ONE of Mom's aprons..:(
*

I found a few really cute PINK aprons on the net....
BAKING just seems to take on a whole new meaning
when you're all decked out in a really CUTE apron...
Aren't these so yummy looking ?

Now, this little sexy number...

well....there might be more than ONE KIND OF COOKING going on, if you know what I mean!

Cute and SASSY, indeed !! When I grow up, I wanna LOOK JUST LIKE HER !!
************************************************************

awww....I can remember putting an apron on MY little girl a few times....*gulp
*
I love EVERYthing in this photo...every single thing !

and...hey...wonder where they got those cute hangers for the aprons ?

I have a couple more CUTE aprons that I will share with you once I get a few more to add to the collection....?I think ALL mothers used to wear aprons...!

but, mine never wore one as cute as this POLKA DOT one....

...isn't she the cutest thing...and don't you love her HAIR !!
*

BREAST CANCER SWEETHEART APRON
*

OOO...and let me tell you the SWEETEST story about this adorable apron that belongs to ME.....

Once, a couple years back, I made mention on a post that I was

APRONLESS...

Now, the kind, sweet and thoughtfulness of PENNY that lives in THE COMFORTS OF HOME decided I needed AN APRON...She in turn, contacted KATHY that lives in KATHY'S COTTAGE and ordered an apron to be sent to ME. bwaaaaaa....

My heart just flat came up in my throat the day I received this beauty in the mail. I cried for 2 hours (and I am tearing up so fast right now). MR. SWEET thought something was really wrong because I couldn't talk for a few minutes...too filled with emotions ...to think that people I don't know and may NEVER meet, would do such an act of love and kindness.

******************

ummm...there's those ROLLS again !!

HOT... right out of the oven...I'll tell ya about them next time..
(remember, I said SHHHHH)
**

This adorable apron is in the ETSY shop that belongs to KATHY at KATHY'S COTTAGE .

THE WOMAN IS A MASTER OF APRONS...and many, MANY other things...Isn't it so cute....you might want to check out her shop...she always has some really pretty things there for your own self or for gifts.

Please tell her bj said hello..:))

I love aprons! My daughter started a collection of aprons for me many years ago and always wondered how to display them properly. I saw a post on Miss Janice's post so I am using that as inspiration! Can't wait to finish it an share with everyone.

I love aprons, too, and have over a dozen! Somehow they just MULTIPLY! Some are vintage, some I made, some were gifts.I may take them out and admire them later this evening....they used to hang on one of those accordian hanger thingies but I now have them in a wicker basket. Funny, I seldom avtually WEAR one!

Awww, thanks again my dear friend. I had the best time designing that apron and knowing all the time the sweet surprise you would get when you opened the package! I wear aprons all the time. I think a cute apron just makes my cooking and cleaning more fun, and it saves my clothes from my my messy habits!

Love this nostalgic post and all the cool pictures, especially the baking mosaic. How sweet it is that Penny sent you the apron...what sweethearts she and Kathy are! :-)

Hi BJ!
What a great post today. I love aprons too and I can remember my Mom wearing one everyday. I can remember sitting on her lap and smelling kitchen scents on her apron. If I cried she would wipe the tears with the corner of her apron. If my hands were dirty she would wipe them with the edge of her apron. She had a pretty one that she made, for everyday of the week. Thanks for bringing back such a happy memory.

Aren't bloggers just the most wonderful people and aren't we lucky to be part of this lovely group of creative and lovely friends.

Hi BJness! Oh, what precious aprons! My mother was just like yours - she never entered her kitchen without wearing an apron! She doesn't do that now because she doesn't cook too much. But I'll never forget those days!
How sweet of Penny to order you that darling apron! It's gorgeous!!
Happy Pinkness!

Hello BJ~I luurrvve vintage aprons.
I think it is the sweet reminders of out moms wearing their aprons while they cooked, it was an affection of the five senses.
My moms were misplaced along the way too. Isn't it funny how at the time we thought aprons would always be hung at the ready in every kitchen.
I like the idea of carrying on the tradition.
Sweet wishes,
Sara

BJ, this is such a wonderfully touching post! You've reminded me that I have 2 of my Mother's aprons & have been intending to duplicate them for a long, long time. They hang in my sewing room now but she wore them daily.

I'm SEW glad you now have your own apron to cook in.

fondly,
Rettabug (who is anxiously waiting to hear more about those rolls!)

My mother and aunt used to wear an apron everyday. When my boys were younger and I did more baking used a apron, but nothing like you lovely pink ones. Happy PS.

I picked a great day to "visit". I read, ogled and enjoyed every bit of your post . When I think of all the women in my past, those most dear to me were apron wearers. Some plain, some pretty but mostly utilitarian. Thanks for the memories!!

Best,
Bonnie

Happy Pink Saturday, BJ!! I love aprons, too!!! I have a couple that belonged to my mom....and I still use one my boy (now 34) made for me in his Jr. High home ec class!!! Of course, I have a few I wear while I work on my crafty items...they are covered in all colors of paints and stains, but that just makes me realize how many projects I've created while wearing them!!

Your post was soooo much fun, BJ...just like YOU!! Have a swell day!! L, Dana

BJ, I never realized you were such an apron lover. You certainly have a great collection. My grandmother wore them all the time. I hate so bad I did get any of them. I see cute, little different ones in most antique stores. You have some that are very unique.

Ah, where did this HUGE lump in my throat come from?
My mother also loved making aprons - where did they all go?
What I wouldn't give to have one of her "cobbler" aprons to hold and sniff.

I love aprons too..although I have to say I like looking at them more than wearing them :-) My mom had a cute little half apron she wore to clean and stuff.

My Grandma wore an apron every day, and I'm lucky to have one of them! I have it packed away because there really isn't anywhere to hang it in the kitchen. Thanks for reminding me that it's PINK, and I need to go dig it out!
Happy Pink Saturday!

Ah Aprons, don't you just love them. My Mom always wore an apron with her dress or smock in those days. I wear them whenever I am cooking. Have made many over the years and have given them to my daughters who in turn wear them when they bake, cook etc. Those ones are too cute. Must make some sexy ones if you know what I mean.lol

Glennis said...

So cute. I love them all. I confess I always forget to put on an apron in the kitchen - I have at least one, but it stays in the cupboard!

Silly me! Maybe if I had pretty ones like those I'd wear them.

Happy Pink Saturday!

Hey sweet lady! Loved the apron post. I recognized Jennifer's aprons right away and oh my goodness, I want to run out and buy a ton of aprons now. I only have two but I think a girl needs about five or six! Ross carries a line of Vintage aprons but you have to be lucky to catch them since they are snapped up right away. My favorite memory is of my granny in her red rick-rack and white polka dot apron. Thanks for a great post :D

I too love aprons. I try to wear one everytime I cook anything in the kitchen. I have a cute litte Russian khokhloma towel hook I hang my aprons on. My mother used to make us aprons with dish towels we would pick out. The she would sew a pretty ribbon around the top for our ties. And I don't think I even have one left either! such a shame!! I loved your tale of that pretty apron. Which got me to thinking.... You know what would be fun??? An apron exchange. And we could keep it in the theme of pink! Have a great weekend!
