SISTER IN THE BLOGGERETTE SORORITY...

Let me tell you this is going to be a really FUN EVENT, going on right now, in Blogland...
A SORORITY.....
isn't that great ?
*
KAREN is hosting this on her delightful blog,
*
As in ALL sororities...there is a thing we've all heard of that is connected to a SORORITY....
RUSH
*
I was in a hurry to get my post up and ready for today's RUSH....
but please know that YOU CAN JOIN IN AT ANYTIME....
Just stop over at KAREN'S and join the fun....
*********
We had to do TWO things for RUSH...
*
#1. we had to take the ADORABLE photo on the above button
and make something CREATIVE with it..
OH DEAR...
I am SO not creative but....I wanted to join this BLOGGERETTE SORORITY sooooo bad !!
**

SOOO, I thought and thought and thought some more...
"WHAT can I do that will be GOOD enough that THEY won't toss me out on my olden ear??"
*
THEN...I saw my large, thrifted WHITE platter, surrounded by the
BEST black and white checked border....
UH HUH.....I LIKE IT..
I just printed up that cute photo on PHOTO PAPER
and glued it to my platter...NOW...I KNOW this doesn't REALLY qualify as a CRAFT, but....
IT IS SO CUTE, I CAN'T STAND IT...
*

It really does look much cuter than I ever imagined,
sitting all SASSY there on my dining room HUTCH...

I left enough room AROUND the precious photo for SNACKS..so those cutie potooties would show...

So cute to serve COOKIES on....

BUT....now I need to paint it with SOMEthing to protect the photo...
******

I have NOT A CLUE as to what to use but...
HOBBY LOBBY will know.....right ?

Aren't these girls just the cutest !!!
*

THIS is the way I will use it most of the time...
Just displayed ....
I can already tell that it is going to be a piece that makes me smile....:))
I guess it doesn't take much to make me smile, hu !!
*

I just can't wait to see what all the other SISTERS did with their photo...
It will be a lot of fun to see, so be sure to swing by them all...
KAREN has the list posted right there on her SIDEBAR...
There's going to be a lot of blogging activities going on in this SORORITY...
So PLEASE go over and join up...

THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING OVER TO SEE ME TODAY....

oh, yeah...
the SECOND thing we had to do was show our project with a photo of our silly self....!!
AIN'T LIFE GRAND !!
;>)
I TELL YA...I am having so much fun blogging...
I JUST LOVE IT ...EVERY BIT OF IT !!

Give yourself some credit BJ, that was a wonderful idea you came up with. You're more creative than you thought. I think you might be able to put some hodge podge glue over it but I'm not sure if you can use it for food if you do. There are a lot of talented bloggers out there (I'm not one of them) and I'm sure they will know what to do.

Cover your photo with Mod Podge, you can get it at Hobby Lobby or Michael's. Give it several coats, let it dry between coats. You "done" good girl!

Look cute too in your photo.

BJ...that is a brillant idea. I love it. Mod podge will seal it...or you could get some clear sealant...I get spray kind from Walmart in the paint section....just a thought. Have a great weekend sister!

Hwllo sister, I'm Margaret! That plate is adorable! I see from the comments every one has told you about Modpodge, but you can also just put some plain old white glue over the photo and remember to wipe off any that gets on the plate or it will leave a haze.

Wow...BJ you are the bomb...shell that is! I just love that platter and I might have to grab your idea for something for my mum! She'd love to serve sweets to her sisters if I put their photo on a plate like yours ;) btw...there are photo decals that you can buy and insert into your printer that you then adhere in the oven and they are dishwasher safe after you are all done...oh yeah! Just google "ceramicware decals" and you can find a link I'm sure. So glad to see what another Sister has done and see you on Pink Saturday, fondly, Roberta

I LOVE the platter idea....I would have NEVER thought of it!! I think the Mod Podge idea will probably work to cover your picture and protect it!! I think we should push to get commemorative dishes made, don't you? With all of the tablescapers out there in BlogLand....it could be a hit!!

You were very creative....and I'm proud of your!! L, Dana

How lovely to meet you! And of course that's a craft, a really great one! You make me want to go find a platter with a checkered border so i can do it, too.

I often coat things with Duraclear. The faces I paint on my Coffee Pot People and Teakettle Characters last years out in the weather with that stuff on them.

Off now to do the Follow thing. =oD

Hi BJ.. Gosh your plate is beautiful!!! I LOVE it!.. I am so disappointed, as I never could find anyone to simply print the photo out for me so that I could make something with it! My daughter totally forgot, as her last week of teaching was full of crazy schedules and final exams. So I wrote to Karen, explaining my dilemma, and I haven't heard anything back from her yet. I'm hoping I'll be forgiven if I can at least make something late?? Dear Daughter thinks maybe she can get her boyfriend to help me hook up my printer, since it just never got done since the move back in OCTOBER... At least I won't need one for Barb's Rooster Party! I'm looking forward to that one too!... Hope you're enjoying your weekend! ~tina

Your platter is brilliant! That checkerboard border is the perfect complement to the five beauties. I love picking up thrift store treasures...one never know when they'll come in handy. And I love the picture of you with it...

I must say it's also nice to have a sister who's closer to my age than my grown children's. LOL

Lovely to meet you...
