HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

"Making a decision to have a child–it’s momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.” MOTHER'S DAY FLOWERS FOR YOU...
*
HAPPY PINK SATURDAY
*********************************
THIS IS MY MOTHER

The picture says "Helen, age 17" on the back
Her name was HELEN FREDERICK JACKSON RAMSEY HAWKINS
and I loved her very much..........
**
As her mother's brother, FREDERICK, was leaving for WW ONE, she promised him that no matter if she had a boy or a girl, her expected baby would have his name ! My mom was very proud of that name, too.
************************************
She was born in 1917 in East Texas and even though she moved to West Texas when she was 29 years old and spent the rest of her 71 years here, she never lost her East Texas drawl.....
Every inch of her was A SOUTHERN LADY
*
She was, by far, one of the most talented ladies that ever lived. She could paint, sew like a pro, all kinds of crafts, was the best baker EVER, EVER !!
*
She had a fantastic personality and lots and lots of friends.
*
But, most of all, she was such a great MOTHER.
She made our home a place full of wonder and wonderfulness for my little brother and I........
**
Oh, don't get me wrong.....she could be very stern about some things but we kids learned early on that if we could only get her tickled, she soon forgot why she was upset with us !!
*****************************
She could do anything she made her mind up to do and she did it WELL.
She dearly loved to dance to
BOB WILLS and THE TEXAS PLAYBOYS ...;>)
********************************
She has been gone over 20 years last month and I miss her today as much as I did when she went HOME.
*
I'll not have her on my mind at all, be cooking and reach for a hot pad that she made, and my loss of her washes over me like cold water. I pray I am loved enough that I will be missed in the same way because it's a GOOD missing...it shows how close we were and how intertwined our lives were, ALWAYS.
*

She could make the BEST Chicken and Dumplins of anyone! It was always my very favorite meal and she made them often.

When I get really lonely for her, I go to the store, buy the fatest hen I can find, boil it, making the best broth..then, the dumplins are made from scratch. When I sit down with a nice, hot bowl of them....seems like Mom is right beside me.
MY NUMBER ONE COMFORT FOOD...HOMEMADE CHICKEN AND DUMPLINS.

...and, she ALWAYS saw to it that I got to pull the PULLY BONE...
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, MOM

I LOVE YOU!
*
**********

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my sweet daughter, STACY LEIGH...
*

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to my precious daughter in law, KATHY....
*

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
to my granddaughter, JESSICA...
**
AND....
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY
to all mothers, everywhere !

BJ, OMGoodness....such a beautiful tribute. However, the thing I love the most is the PULLY BONE! Growing up we always called it that but now everyone (except my sister) thinks I'm nuts....they say wishbone.

I too miss my mom with all my heart.

Happy Mother's Day and Pink Saturday!

Hi B.J. JUST LOVELY REALLY REALLY LOVELY.
My mom was also born in 1917! She's 91 today, spry, has her own 2 bedroom apt. and is coming to see me next month. She's very thin, like 86 lbs. but she was always the "perfect size" to me. She still LOVES to play cards, and god knows how she LOVED to dance, but now she's a little wobbly on her feet, but not bad : )
I have to tell you that Chicken and Dumplings are my FAV. Living in Canada, of course they don't make those, but when I hit Cracker Barrel, you bet that's what I order first thing. YUMMY
You were blessed to have such a wonderful mom. I'm sure she's looking at all that you do and smiling.
Happy Mother's Day B.J.
Love Claudie
xoxo
P.S. Just wondering if your using the current version of Internet Explorer? or have you tried Firefox?
I'm posting about my mom and some fun we had in St. Augustine... sorry you can't see it : (
Do you try Firefox sometimes.

Grandmother was the best! I loved her so much too! When I think of Grandmother, I think of Estee Lauder Youth Dew, Toast on a pretty plate, Avocadoes in salad, Big fluffy down comforter, and her hysterical wit! What a great post Mom!
