TOP OF THE MORNIN' TO YE......REPOST TO ADD LINK TO ANOTHER FUN PARTY...

HOW FUN IS THIS !!
A party, hosted by our sweetest KATHLEEN...
There's a LOT of WONDERFUL GREENS for you to enjoy
so be sure to go over and wish Kathleen a
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY
and visit with all the rest...
*
I am also linking with SUSAN for TABLESCAPE THURSDAY
and linking to WELCOME TO MY WORLD ...St. Patrick's Day Carnival
*
THANKS SO MUCH FOR COMING BY SWEET NOTHINGS TODAY.
*
HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY....
**
The beautiful PUNCH BOWL I am using for my fruit belonged to my mother...so it is
A SECOND TIME AROUND...
*
I have never...in my entire loooong life, decorated my table
for ST. PATRICK'S DAY...
OH...
but BLOGGING BUDDIES bring out the BEST in us!
**
Kathleen said, "YOU CAN DO IT"
when I told her I couldn't do anything
for SPD because I didn't have any decorations...
*
I find myself reaching MUCH deeper into myself to
WANT to make things prettier...
to celebrate MORE holidays...
to try bringing something "to the table" that might make YOU smile...
and I love Kathleen and wanted to
play at her party !! :O)
*
...sooo...off I went to find some cuties, on the CHEAP, for my GREEN table..
*
A fabric remenant .. $2.00
... made myself some cute PLACE MATS...
"Kiss me...I'm Irish"... love it!
and I love my 3 tine forks...
(my mama's)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
oops...and I had already taken all these photos BEFORE
MISS JANICE told us our napkin points should face TOWARD us
BEFORE the meal and toward the table, AFTER the meal. Sorry for my bad table manners!!
*
As most of you know...
I operate on a really, REALLY tight budget..
You can't get much tighter than SOCIAL SECURITY.
**
O, I'm sounding ungreatful here...!
PLEASE don't get me wrong...
I am MORE than thankful for what we do receive...
being able to pay our bills..
and have a little fun on the side...
and mostly thankful for our good health at this winter season of our lives...
**
ANYway.... I made up my mind long ago that I wanted to play with my dishes
and tables with a lot of other bloggers each week thru the infamous
TABLESCAPE THURSDAY...
BUT...I couldn't BUY anything much to do this..
**
Using the black and white dishes that I already had blended
in just fine since my little place mats have a little black in there, too...
*
I am using my simply WHITE napkins with the black rings...
a little faux flower added a little pizzazz to it all...
*
THE DOLLAR TREE
had these cute little green and white KISSING balls, along with
the little green candles..
I just put them into the adorable WIRE BASKET that
THE BRAMBLEBERRY COTTAGE sent to me..
I was tickled to death at how cute it looked !
THANKS, LIZ
**
A birds eye view....*grin
*
Most of you have seen my mama's
PRETTY GREEN GOBLETS
before...
They just went perfect with my theme...
I sure would rather have my little mama, tho, than these ole green goblets!! :>(
*
**
and.....OF COURSE, I had to get YOU a HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY greeting card !
;>) :O)
haaahhhaaaaa...i laughed so hard...I LOVE IT !
*
MR. SWEET loves filled sweet bars and when I saw these "St. Paddy" green ones, covered
in luscious nuts, I just HAD to get it for him.....
*
I am so proud of how well he is doing on our eating HEALTHY...
he has LOST OVER 25 POUNDS and still going strong...
YAY, MR. SWEET !!
**
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~...and right beside that one for him, I saw THIS one for moi.....
yummm....
*
I, too, have done well on the healthy eating way of life..
...have dropped a size in my jeans !! ..and not having to lay on the bed to button them!!
WOO HOO !!
**

No St. Patrick's Day table would be complete without
IRISH COFFEE...
**
OH HONEY !
**
1 and 1/2 oz. GOOD IRISH WHISKEY
1 teaspoon Brown Sugar
6 oz. Hot Coffee
Heavy creme
~~
COMBINE that GOOD whiskey, sugar and coffee in an AWESOME mug and stir to dissolve.
Float cold, whipped creme gently on top. DO NOT STIR..
*
SIP SLOWLY and ENJOY to the very LAST DROP !
*

AN IRISH TOAST FOR YOU...
**
"MAY YOU BE IN HEAVEN A HALF HOUR BEFORE THE DEVIL EVEN KNOWS YOU'RE DEAD."

HAPPIEST ST. PATRICK'S DAY

You are proof positive that a tablescape can be made when you think you can't...and I think that all the time. You give me inspiration!! Your fabric was perfect as a starting point and I love everything that came after. Brilliant!

Oh BJ, I always have the most fun when I come to visit you!

I noticed in the very first picture how the black plates cooridinated with the placemats, and I thought how clever you were to choose black.

I can't seem to get good pictures of my blown out candles, but you caught the effect perfectly.

Enjoy your nightcap!

Talk to you soon ;)

Just beautiful. You sure don't decorate like your on a tight budget. I think you should have your own TV show on how to make your home beautiful on a budget. You're very clever. I always get ideas when I stroll through blog.

Dear One, I love your St. Patrick's Day things. Especially, the Header which greeted me today! I had to bend to the side, and tell my husband to look at a REAL SPD Header! :-) We both sit in the Den [which was supposed to be a Dining Room] in the morning... I on my computer and he, reading his local newspaper. I have him peek at blog things, which are particularly cute.

And I would like to say how wonderful it is of you, to say that you operate on a tight budget. I like you all the more, for this. Sometimes it seems that "Pretty Blog Land" is mostly populated by women who seem to have amazing resources, shall we say.

Amazing, even if they are always going to Thrift Stores for loads and loads of "precious finds." Not to even speak of those who just truly must have unlimited funds, because they don't just go to Thrift Stores. They just buy!!!!!!!!

I never liked Garage Sales or the like, so I'm not saying I'm *jealous* of them, for so doing. It's not "my thing." I don't even enjoy shopping, period. When we need something, I go in a store and get it and go home. Shopping is not in my genes. [Weird hu?!?] ,-)

Enough... I ramble too much... :-) But I think you are wonderfully frank, my Dear. And I love you, for it!

Gentle hugs...

And many Congratulations to both you and Mr. Sweet, for your progress on weight loss for HEALTH! Wonderful! Wonderful! Wonderful!

Ooh BJ, you did a fantastic job on this tablescape!!! I love everything about it, most especially your mom's goblets. They're so pretty!

You stood on a chair to take that one shot, didn't you? You daring chick!

I cannot believe Mr. Sweet has lost over 25 pounds! That is fantastic!!!! And you went down a size in pants? But you were already so damn thin. Eat healthy, but eat a lot of it so you don't lose more!

The last picture with the smoke coming from the blown out candles was perfection!

Back again, Dear BJ. :-)

You made me so happy, when you said you too have lent your voice to what I am so passionate about. We have to try. To just throw up our hands and forget about it, is to do so, to all those who fought and died and still do so, for our wonderful Country. Imho, anyway.

I thing it's all just gorgeous. One thing I've learned from the blogging is to "shop in the house". I had no idea how much I had for a table until I actually started looking thanks to all the ideas I have 'stolen' over the past 2 weeks. I truly believe that those of us with limited resources have to be blessed with other talents. You certainly are!!!
